SRK to star in a film on food

New york based international chef Vikas Khanna who was seen in Master Chef India 2 has turned into a film maker. His upcoming project The Moon of Eid will star the bollywood superstar Shah Rukh in which King Khan will be seen talking about spirituality and food.

Vikas Khana said that, "I was with Shah Rukh Khan for the shoot of the film. He spoke about food and spirituality. It was an amazing experience to see him talk about his food belief in reference to iftar (the sharing of the feast of foods)." He added, "We began working on the project a few months back and we took Shah Rukh Khan's inputs as well. He also gave an elaborate interview and spoke about his Eid parties. It proved to be a great source of information from a big star."

The project is part of the holy kitchen film series that looks at different religions and their food customs. It takes a look at Ramzan, the Muslim month of fasting where Islam enjoy their favourite foods after breaking their fast at sunset and communities are drawn together in sharing the feast foods at iftar.

The first film in the holy kitchen series is based on langars, the Sikh community kitchens. Other projects are based upon the food traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism and Judaism.

Vikas said, “When we share food in a spiritual setting, it draws us closer to our creator as well as to each other. A simple dish becomes much more than a simple bowl of food when shared with others.” Vikas Khanna's aim  is to make people aware of the world’s religious traditions that can pave the way for mutual respect.

The film is scheduled for a DVD release in the coming months and Vikas Khanna will be soon seen in Mumbai.

Karan Johar Loves Dhaba's!

Karan Johar is now busy shooting for his next movie 'Student of the Year' and during his travel he did surprise a few locals as they were shocked to see the super director having food from a dhaba.

Karan is reported to be driving from Chandigarh to Shimla for the shoot and this was here that he opted for a Punjabi Dhaba and had food there.

Karan says, "It was an impromptu decision. Few people know that I love local dhaba food. It is the best!" And though it was vegetarian food, KJo had a feast gorging on the parathas and daal makhni."

We wonder, where Karan is so trying to be perfect and neat in his movies, what would he have done to solve the fly problems!
