Photography : Tutorial 1 - Aim

Another photography tutorial?!Wait a moment before you rule it out

I know how the photography changed over the past few years, the compacts are smaller but getting much more powerful, the DSLR's are much more reachable and is in much more demand that what it used to be 10 years.

It is shear love to capture the memory of a scene lifetime that makes the urge for you to click the snaps. So if you are bored, with those techniques, we can just ignore that for now and start at what you are most interested in - Taking pictures.

I am going to skip the compacts - they dont need you to read this tutorial, its like your smart phone, it just knows what to do and would mostly suggest you the changes itself!

1. Composition

Gear up, the ship is ready to sail!

So what should be your aim when you get your Compact/DSLR? put it on to auto mode - yeah, most of others hate it, but we are starting at it! So bare with me.

So get your cam, adjust the settings on your eyepiece and try getting a habit of looking the world through the 3cm hole - you can see the magic or may be not, but if you do see the magic then you are well ahead of the 50% who doesn't find it comfortable!

For the rest 50%, dump your DSLR get a compact! you will be able to see your world in 3.5 or may be 4.5 inch screens, but sooner or later you will find that the inches doesn't really count, but for the tutorial sake, just pretend that you are comfortable.

Good, now you are going to need a lot of practice to actually visualize a 5 foot scene on your 3cm or 3inch screen. That is when the true photography begins. Make up your mind on what you want to capture, focus on it - not the physical focus on the cam, but I mean the mental focus, think of what is special that you see in the image you are trying to capture, and when you think that image is on the 3cm or 3inch screen, stop thinking and click!

Ta da!!

That's your first snap!

And sorry to disappoint you, the first shot doesn't always look too good. Its always like that and very rarely does it do justice to the snap you intended to do, but that is what digital photography is for, go on and snap again - But wait, a moment:

So what went wrong, the common mistakes are:

* Photos are not showing the colors more brighter than you saw with your naked eyes - some may find it good, though.

* Photos are including more details than what you intended to show. More of the background or more people if you are shooting someone.

* Photos are not of the same color and style as your eyes saw! More whites or oranges - that is also appealing at times.

These are quite common, sometimes the automode does enhance the colors, or whites it out, but that doesn't matter at this point as we are getting friendly with the camera.

So go on with your clicks and do check the results and see what went wrong, but do not delete the pictures if you dont like them, may be when you put it on to the computer you may find those more interesting.

Tomorrow is the celebration day when Sunny Leone unleashes on to Indian Audience with her movie Jism 2, her best opening on main screen. The news, posters, videos are already hitting on top charts (videos here ). This is when Sunny decided to make her own promotional effort for the movie, she decided to do this with an open invitation to photographers and this time not to a studio - but to her bedroom in a five star hotel in Delhi!

Eyes might pop out - as this is the one and only promotional event where photographers are invited into the bedroom of an actress to get candid with her where she is waiting in her lingerie and waking up from bed! That should have been ideal - but sorry, she was in lingerie but yet had her makeup on and was ready for the shoots. The voyeur shots are still in demand for Sunny Leone and the photographers made a beeline when they received the invitations.

The invite to the event also clearly said, “you are invited to do a photoshoot of her in her own bedroom,”

While the flashlights came on, Sunny struck poses giving away generous views, before changing into a tiny black corset dress and stepping downstairs for interviews.

Even in midst of these promotions, the BEST buses with Jism 2 posters are making a obscene publicity and this has caused  a stir. The Mayor has ordered their removal from BEST buses. The action follows a complaint by NCP legislator Vidya Chavan that the posters were obscene.

"We received a complaint from Chavan, who alleged that the posters were obscene. I have asked BEST general manager to remove such posters from BEST buses," Mayor Sunil Prabhu told PTI.

Even when the hotness is ruling the movie, the producer Mahesh Bhatt doesn't feel the same, "It is a conservative...traditional film in a way. It is about a journey of a porn star, her longing for real love. It is a journey of a woman. It is her quest for love," Bhatt told reporters at a promotional event of 'Jism 2'.

The director on the other hand has tried to explore the sexuality and sensual moments to the fullest. “What’s wrong, why be hypocritical about what all human beings want and yearn for— love and sex? The story is about a porn star Izna (played by Sunny Leone) who longs for real love. It explores and captures the feelings of loneliness and how it leads to depression,” Pooja says. She was in the City recently to promote her film and seemed more than excited to talk about it.

The director also felt confident about her choice of actress, “I couldn’t think of anybody better than Sunny Leone to play the female lead. She is sensuous and has this innocence about her. Randeep Hooda has this hot, stunning look and Arunoday Singh has just the right amount of vulnerability, apt for the character," added the director.

Pooja is proud that the Bhatt family has always promoted and encouraged new talent. “I always feel that working with new talent gives that extra edge to the film. I’ve worked with Kajol; Madhur is one of my favourites and I find Deepika, Nargis and Priyanka extremely talented,” she notes. Pooja has already tuned into working on the finer details of Jism 3. “I am inspired to do Jism 3, which will be bigger with an unusual twist,” she beams.

Speaking about the cuts and edits on the movie, she says that she has not removed scenes but has been made to look the movie more aesthetic. “It hasn’t been cut but edited aesthetically. The visual dose is just right, without being too imposing,” she says.

“It’s like a tall order that I must excel. And I felt the pressure at every step. But I am thrilled that the movie has been receiving some good reviews and has exceeded my expectations. I am waiting to see what people have to say,” concludes the actress turned director.

Jism 2 releases tomorrow on big screens and wait few more hours to feel the hotness!
