Discrimination In Treatment; Kajol drops IIFI Goa 2013

Kajol Devgan is not an actress who can stand the discrimination and different treatment. The latest event was when the IIFI Goa 2013 organizers decided to treat the Hollywood actress and Kajol in different classes, which miffed the actor.

As per the reports, Hollywood actress Susan Saradon will be inaugurating the ceremony. The special treatment which made Kajol express her resentment included business class tickets for Sarandon and also a high-end luxury car to pick her from the airport.

A source says, "Kajol was invited by the International Film Festival of India to be a part of the opening ceremony, but she put down some conditions and did not attend."

Nonetheless, Bollywood bigwigs including Rekha, Rani Mukherji, Kamal Haasan, Asha Bhosle and other prominent guests were a part of the opening ceremony of the IFFI Goa 2013.

South Fascination unleashed! - Aiyaa

Rani Mukherjee has done it again when all thought that the movie 'The Dirty Picture' had done it all. Now its Rani's turn to make the Bollywood screens litter with the hottness of South dances. The latest movie Aiyaa has been the venue for Rani to unleash herself back to the glory. Her playful screen image just adds to the good part. 

Sachin Kundalkar, the director of the movie says that this is his attempt to describe the wish of Maharashtrian girl to have a guy from south and celebrate life like in South Indian movies, he says "I am very fond of South Indians and to show Rani's character longing for her hero came very naturally to me. Amit Trivedi has strung together Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics through his mesmerising tunes. This film was the best vehicle for South superstar Prithviraj to make his Hindi film debut."

The item song of the movie 'Dreamum Wakeupum' is already trending and this shows the entire cast wearing the dresses like in old South Indian movies dancing and showing off body like anything. "It was a celebration of South Indian culture and the best way to let people know about our hero, Prithviraj," says the debutant director.

He also clarifies the idea of his movie "It is a carnal desire of a Maharashtrian woman for these men that is expressed in the song. It is conveying a South Indian man's physicality but very gracefully. It is not about the emotions but more about the body of a man." says Sachin.

The song shows South Super star Prithviraj in six pack abs and dancing to the tunes of Rani. The song also have another special, as the spotboy for Rani Mukherjee turns a singer in the song. Rani says "We were jamming at the studio trying to figure out a catchphrase we could use in the song ‘Dreamum’. That’s when Amit and Amitabh remembered that Amose is from Tamil Nadu.” Soon, Amose was made to join the discussion and list some Tamil words that could be used in the setting of a love song. Adds the actor, “Finally he came up with ‘unne, rande, mune, nale’, which means one two three four.”

The original portion was retained by Amit Trivedi, the music director for the movie and hence the debut singing for Amose. The movie is jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap and UTV Motion pictures and will hit the screens on 12 October 2012.

Rani returns as Marathi Mulgi in ‘Aiyyaa’

“Yeh kya ho raha hai mere zindagi ke sath!” yells Rani in her upcoming movie Aiyyaa. Well if we go to see, many things are happening in her life. First are the rumours of her impending marriage with
Beau Aditya Chopra and second is the buzz around her next movie.

Yes the Bubbly of Bollywood has returned with what seems to be a Tadkedaar performance of Khandala girl. She was seen in a fresh avatar as foul-mouthed television journalist Meera Gaity in No one killed Jessica and now the talented actress is back with Aiyyaa. The trailer of the same is released everywhere and has garnered good reviews on YouTube.Priety Zinta is also making her comeback with her home production ‘Ishq in Paris’ but it seems Rani’s movie trailer is overshadowing PZ’s home production.

Aiyyaa is directed by Kundalkar and co-produced by Aurag Kashyap and Viacom18. It was supposed to be released this September 18th but now it’s been postponed after Dusshera. Kundalkar said, "Yes, we were supposed to release our film on Sep 28, but now the film has been pushed back. There is no specific reason as such. It is a collective decision taken by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18." He also added that it will be released on October 26th.


Rani has done extensive research on Maharashtrian culture for this movie. She has watched many marathi movies and have spent considerable time with many Marathi actors.

Talking about her role in the movie, Rani dazzles in Navvari and portrays her character of over-dramatic girl very well. Rani plays a marathi girl, Meenakshi Deshpande from a simple middle class Maharashtrian family. An Arts graduate, she is a girl who always lives her life day dreaming about becoming an actress. All her thoughts revolve around dreams of acting and fantasies about acting in a movie. But her parents have other plans for her. They want her to get married as soon as possible and start looking for grooms. Rani succumbs to their wishes and starts looking for her prince charming but falls for an artist, Prithviraj who is a South Indian. She starts dreaming about him and is strangely attracted towards his smell. She follows him wherever he goes. However there is a twist in the story. She realises something and her dreams get shattered.  Sounds interesting! So let’s see if this movie gives Rani her second break in Bollywood..

Aamir, Kareena, Rani in Talaash music video

Aamir Khan, the perfectionist of Bollywood is always known to come up with new innovative ideas. The superstar deserves accolades for not just being immensely talented actor but also very smart marketing personnel when it comes to innovative film promotions.

This time he has shown his creativity for the music video of his movie Talaash.

Talaash: The Answer Lies Within is an upcoming Indian psychological thriller film written and directed by Reema Kagti. The project is jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions, and features Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles.

Aamir came up with a new idea to showcase the movie’s video. The music video will have all the three actors in it.  Well the thing is, in the actual film the trio Aamir, Rani, Kareena are never seen together since they don’t have a single scene with each other. Aamir felt that it would be very special if all three of them perform in Talaash’s promotional video to make their fans happy. Therefore the superstar thought of shooting a music video where the trio will share same screen space for the first time and shake a leg with each other.

Talking about the music video, spokesperson from Excel said, "Yes, it’s true, Aamir came up with the idea of shooting a music video with all three stars together and we all instantly agreed. It is a great idea as having Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor dancing together in a music video is the recipe for total entertainment."

This is not the first time that AamirKhan has popped out with new way to promote his movies.  Aamir had turned into a barber for his fans and had given them the Ghajini haircut during one of his innovative promotional events of his much awaited movie Ghajini.

For Peepli Live, the actor had created a special 45-second long teaser to play at theatres and on television, which actually made fun of his own promotional tactics and also of himself.

Rs 1.25 crore car for Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji is one lucky girl! Buzz is that beau Aditya Chopra gifted an Audi A8 W12 worth Rs 1.25 crore to his alleged girlfriend as a symbol of their love!

It is said that Aditya brought the luxury car on Tuesday evening near Rani’s bungalow and asked her to step in for a quick ride. Later he parked the car at her place and himself went home in his other car.

Much has been talked about the relationship between the original bubbly girl of Bollywood and the filmmaker but both have till now remained mum about the topic. Last year Rani’s father, Ram had once said publicly that the actress would get married within a year. But when asked Aditya and Rani about the news both maintained their ‘no comments’ stance.
Aditya was previously married to his childhood girlfriend Payal Malhotra. Their 8 year old marriage started showing cracks when rumours about Aditya and Rani’s affair started doing rounds in the industry. Many accused Rani for being the home breaker but people close to Adi said that it was because of the incompatibility between the two that had led to their break up. Aditya then moved out of his parents' house in Juhu to stay at the Grand Maratha Sheraton Hotel. The couple filed for divorce in 2009. A settlement, of Rs 20 crore was fixed for Payal, besides a five-bedroom penthouse in Juhu. Aditya Chopra then returned to his parents’ old villa where he still stays in a separate wing on the first floor.
Mean while, rumours about his affair with Rani were getting stronger. Rani who was at the peak of her stardom back then started working for projects only under Yashraj’s banner. It is said that because of this decision all of her earlier directors no longer rushed to her with scripts. Sooner as a result of being constrained to only one camp Rani’s luck turned the other way. With her films like Baabul, Laga Chunri Main Daag, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Dil Bole Hadippa getting bombed at the box-office Rani Mukerji’s career as a top actress started fading.
She won the accolades for playing the character of Meera, a foul-mouthed television journalist in ‘Noone Killed Jessica’ but by that time more young & talented actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra were already reigning the industry.

Rani then kept her career at the back burner due to the lack of film roles and started concentrating on her personal life. It was said that Aditya’s broken marriage and his affair with the actress was also the reason of the rift between her and the Chopra’s.  Aditya’s parents had always shown their displeasure towards their son getting divorced and marrying Rani. Months passed by and it was heard that the Chopras who had an objection regarding Rani and Aditya’s wedding finally gave their nod. Considering the developments, it was assumed that Rani would announce her wedding soon.
So the news of Aditya gifting an expensive luxurious car to his lady love made us wonder, are the wedding bells going to ring sooner or later?!

Talaash : Aamir Miffed! But confirms the release date

Following the recent set of controversies surrounding Aamir Khan's 'Talaash' the actor himself has came out to clarify his stance on this. It has been lot of back to back news coming up for the fight between the actor and the director and also the much controversial item number issue with legendary actor Rajnikanth. The team is said to be cool but not happy about the way the news is getting out.

“Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that there have been some attempts to spread rumours about my film. Clearly, someone is not very happy with the way it is progressing, and I can assure you that ‘someone’ is not from our team.” says a miffed Aamir Khan, when the media recently caught up with the actor on his view for the recent happenings.

The actor’s anger stems from recent reports hinting at an argument between him and director Reema Kagti over some scenes in their upcoming film. Apparently, Aamir wasn’t happy with certain portions in the second half of the film, and wanted them re-shot. Reema purportedly refused to make any alterations, as a result of which a miffed Aamir said he would not be available to promote the film (after he finishes shooting for Dhoom 3 in Chicago). It was even said that the film’s release (set for November 30) might be pushed to 2013. 

"Reema (director Reema Kagti), Farhan, Ritesh (producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani), and I are very happy with the way the film has turned out, and I would like to clarify that Talaash is releasing as planned onNovember 30,” lashes out Aamir. 

“When you have a good product, it would not be a wise decision to not market it well and release in a rush,” Aamir had earlier said explaining the decision of pushing the release from June to November.

As for his cop act in the thriller, Aamir reveals that it won’t be in the genre of actor Salman Khan’s Dabanng act at all. “It’s nothing like Chulbul Pandey,” he smiles. Aamir Khan plays the cop in movie and he is supported by Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor.

Prithviraj bags a YRF film

Buzz is that south superstar Prithviraj has been signed on for another Bollywood project with Yash Raj Films.

Rumour has it that, the actress is the reason why YRF signed the actor. It is said that Rani Mukharjee managed to make things easy Prithvi after putting in a good word about him to Aditya Chopra. The movie will headed by Yash Raj Chopra and Aditya Chopra.

He is currently working with Rani Mukerji in his yet-to-be-released Bollywood film Aiyya which will be directed bye Anurag Kashyap.

Prithiviraj confirmed saying that, "Yes, I am doing a film for Aditya Chopra. It is titled Aurangazeb. The film also stars Arjun Kapoor."

It is said that Arjun will be seen playing the lead role, which means that Prithviraj will play a supporting role. Its quite surprising because Prithviraj is an established name down south and he has played various lead characters so far in his career. A star like him agreeing to play a supporting role and that too with a newbie like Arjun Kapoor is quite suprising. Seems as if he has agreed just because its a YRF offer.

The film titled Aurangzeb will feature Arjun Kapoor in a double role. Prithviraj will be playing a prominent role in the same. The film will be directed by Phir Milenge scribe Athul Sabharwal. The film is set to go on floors by September.

Rani Mukharjee to play Begum Samru

Actress Rani Mukharjee will be soon be seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia's next movie. Rani will be seen playing the rold of Begum Samru in the biopic.

The film is based on Begum Joanna Nobilis Sombre, popularly known as Begum Samru who started her career as a Nautch girl in 18th Century India, and eventually became the ruler of Sardhana, a principality near Meerut. Later on, she played a key role in the political power struggle in 18th and 19th century India. She was the head of a professionally trained mercenary army, inherited from her European mercenary husband, Walter Reinhardt Sombre. This mercenary army consisted of Europeans and Indians. She is also regarded as the only Catholic Ruler in India, as she ruled the Principality of Sardhana in 18th and 19th century India.

Tigmanshu Dhulia's recent release was Paan Singh Tomar which was quite successful at the box office.

It is said that Rani had a couple of formal meeting with the director Tigmanshu Dhulia and the role had been finalized. It is even said that the role was written as per keeping Rani in mind. A source even said, "Rani loves Tigmanshu's style of filmmaking. He is soon going to go for a recce."

Besides this movie Rani Mukharjee will also be seen in Aamir Khan's TALAASH.

Rani - Amosh : The lucky Charm?

Now that is what really adds charm to Rani Mukherjee, its not her glittering eyes or charming smile, it is said that its Amosh that adds in the success tone to her movies. Atleast Rani believes in this and she has been quite superstitious about the fact that Amosh is indeed the lucky charm for the lady. 

Amosh has been working with Rani for many years now and his luck was discovered through 'No One Killed Jessica', the movie which had revived the career of Rani Mukherjee, who was finding it tough to stay up in the race of actresses. Amosh had did a cameo in the same movie and since then Rani has made him the Friday man where he accompanies her to bless her with success. 

It is said that Rani has talked with director for Aiyaa, Sachin Kundalkaar, to allow Amosh on to the sets and has also convinced him to allow Amosh to do a cameo as he did in NOKJ. It is said that Amosh was also found in the sets of Talaash, the Aamir Khan special. Rani seems to be obsessed with the luck factor and she strongly believes that if Amosh can't help then nothing will!

We sincerely believe in your acting Talents Rani, it wont be just luck factor that holds you. So if Amosh does add the spice, let it be, but dont stop believing in your acting talents!!

We wonder what Aditya Chopra would have to say to this. The linkup between the duo has settled down after the recent vacation controversies. But both actor and the producer did not comment on what happens to their love story.

Rani - Aditya Wedding fixed?

This year, bollywood is going to enjoy a series of weddings starting with Riteish-Genelia wedding which is going to be followed by Kareena-Saif, both these couples have made it official and are seriously planning to get engaged. But the recent event at Mumbai airport has put the spotlight back on Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra Affair.

Aditya Chopra who along with his family, had been on vacation at London was returning to Mumbai, the journalists did spot Rani Mukherjee along with the family and they were not reacting to the shutterbugs and were comfortable to allow jouranlists to take their picture. Although the couple were not shot together but the presence of Rani along with the family might be the beginning of a new story.

Although the couple had denied their relationship throughout the buzz, but the recent entourage has bubbled up the affair. Aditya Chopra who was accompanied by Pameela Chopra, his wife and his son Uday Chopra, were fine to have the company of Rani on their vacation.

We will still have to wait few more days to see what comes of this!

The year was flashy they were bombatic, they were sensuous, they were playing amazing roles and the best part of 2011 was that we had beautiful movies and women-centric movies which did do a decent business. IANS have took the opportunity to list the top 10 heroines of 2011 who did an amazing job this year.

1. Vidya Balan : Her performance and dedication finally paid its cash, the latest movie 'The Dirty Picture' just added more color to the actress and added a glamour quotient to otherwise a great performer in the movies. Her cameos in movies like 'Thank you', 'Dum Maaro Dum' and 'Urumi' (malayalam) was equally appreciated. She grabs the no. 1 spot from Kareena who had the best count of hits and popularity last year. 

2. Kareena Kapoor: Undoubtedly the best of actresses, she had two movies with the Khan's this year and both went to collect a lot of cash! The first being 'Bodyguard' with Salman Khan, which was among the top movies rated by IANS, and the second was 'Ra.One' with Shahrukh Khan, which was another super hit with her dance numbers getting appreciated widely. It has been a decade but still Kareena holds the top spots without much competition.

3. Priyanka Chopra: Although she had a slow start and average 2010, she still is regarded for her amazing performances. The move '7 Khoon Maaf' was critically acclaimed and the center character played by Priyanka just proved her style and acting talents. The actress who gained the National Award at such young age proved further why she is recognized so. Her next flick with  Shahrukh Khan is coming up this december 'Don 2'.

4. Katrina Kaif : Undoubtedly the beauty queen of bollywood, she had a decent year with 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' doing a good job at boxoffice and the hit of 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' added the star value. She was further boosted for her cameos which she did through 'Bodyguard' - Again a wonderful actress who has carved herself to the needs of bollywood.

5. Kalki Koechlin: The actress who had four movies this year with amazing variety through - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, That Girl In Yellow Boots, Shaitan and My Friend Pinto, Kalki has proved that she is capable of handling the tough roles that is presented to her. She has also classified herself as a viable commercial artist with roles changing froma nagging girl friend, a girl in search of father, mentally disturbed girl and finally the role of a girlfriend who got abandoned by her lady love. 

6. Kangana Ranaut : A pronounced actress had the best of movies to her bag. As a bindaas Kanpur girl in "Tanu Weds Manu", she gave her most desi performance ever. She followed it up with the role of a cop in "Game", a supporting act in comedy films "Double Dhamaal" and "Rascals", and featured in "Miley Naa Miley Hum", which went unnoticed. However, Kangana's standing in the industry remains quite unaffected.

7. Rani Mukerji: Her fans got a treat after two years when Rani returned to the big screen in "No One Killed Jessica". As a bold journalist, who gets the public together to demand justice for a cause, Rani delivered an image-breaking performance when she mouthed expletives and smoked a cigarette for the role.

8. Anushka Sharma: There's something that clicks about this Yash Raj Films find, despite average earners like "Patiala House" and "Ladies VS Ricky Bahl" in 2011. Anushka's vivaciousness, million-dollar smile and perfect dancing skills have catapulted her into the league of promising leading ladies of tinsel town today.

9. Deepika Padukone: At 25, Deepika has established herself as one of the more popular female stars of Hindi cinema. This year she strengthened her stance, not so much with her performances, but because of the elan with which she carried out the sultry song "Mit jaaye gum"; as the small town but confident girl in "Aarakshan"; and as the love interest of John Abraham in "Desi Boyz ".

10. Mahie Gill: Her films, "Utt Patang", "Not A Love Story" and "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster" this year didn't mint enough money at the box office, but her performance, like always, was well noticed. The critically acclaimed actress continues to choose films away from tried-and-tested formulas, and garners appreciation galore.

Rani Mukherjee's Secret affair?

Rani and Aditya Chopra together?

Rani Mukherjee, who has been the star heroine for Yash Raj Banners has always been in relationships, be it Abhishek Bachchan or Aamir Khan. There has been rumors about her in being the lady love for many. During the shoots of "Dil Bole Hadippa", even Shahid Kapoor entered the line. But this was all turned down and the latest one in effect is her relationship with the head of Yash Raj Movies - Aditya Chopra. 

The duo has always, as in any other controversy, denied the fact that they are together but there has been reported sightings of the couple in many places and the two seems to be spending a decent hours together! This is not categorized as friendship!!

The news continues that Aditya Chopra is not happy with his current marriage and is planning a divorce with his first wife. As soon as the papers for this is corrected we expect Rani-Aditya to announce their news of being together. 

It is not only Aditya's wife that is giving Rani a tough time, there has been reports that Yash Chopra is also not in good mood for this relation and there has been evident behaviors by Rani to show her displease for the veteran director and producer. There has been many occasions where Rani Mukherjee was found ignoring Yash Chopra.

The relationship seems to have started while the hits of Yash Raj Films with Rani was back to back and this really impressed the new head of YSF and now they are in a relationship.

We hope this is real for Rani too!
