TimeAppsule : Time When Your Message Opens

Timeappsule is a new app developed for both Apple which allows the sender to send a message/image/videos/location locked and open only when the appsule is ready to be unlocked. The time is set by the sender and this is close to the self destructing movies.

With the likes of Snapchat we’ve already got self-destructing messages for video but nothing for timed release. The TimeAppsule has a selection of capsules for varying occasions but internally they’re completely open to store whatever is needed.

Louise Orpin, co-founder of TimeAppsule said: "Mobile devices currently provide functionality to share immediate or self-destructing gifts, messages and content, but not content which unlocks at a set time. We want to change the way users curate their gifts and messages across the globe, putting even more power in the sender’s hands."

TimeAppsule is free and available on the Apple App Store yesterday with Android to follow soon.

Apple Acquires "Topsy" for $200million - Access To Twitter Archives From 2006!

Apple acquires the social media analytics company "Topsy" earlier today. The latest move by Apple is being closely watched as it can now get better off its competitors by understanding the market and the comments are also arriving for Apple's move to learn more close details on twitter.

Apple paid more than $200 million for Topsy, the Journal said. The company provides a range of tools to make sense of data across the social Web and use it to divine consumer sentiment. For example, marketers can use Topsy's tools to measure the success of ad campaigns, identify thoughts and opinions over time, and search and analyze hashtags across years of online chatter.

Topsy is one of the few companies which does have "firehose" access to twitter, that is the full stream of tweets posted to the service. Other competing companies with access include DataSift and Gnip, which analyze and resell the data to customers, the Journal noted.

Topsy has a huge amount of Twitter data at its fingertips. Earlier this year the company announced that it had indexed Twitter's complete archive of public tweets dating back to 2006. That data could let Apple make better use of online social activity in its product development, as companies such as Facebook do now.

Apple Completes The Acquisition Of 3D-Sensor Company, PrimeSense

Apple acquires the famous PrimeSense startup from Israel for $360 Million! Primesense is a company which is mainly focused on 3-D sensor technology. Most of the Xbox fans will be aware of this technology which is used in Xbox 3D Kinect games.

Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet confirmed the PrimeSense deal with the boilerplate comment the company typically provides when news of one of its acquisitions leaks: “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”

The exit marks the end of months of deliberation between the two companies, finally bringing the semiconductor company responsible for advances in motion and depth capture under Apple’s aegis.

The talks were first reported by Israeli news outlet Calcalist back in July, and news of the acquisition was reported earlier on Sunday by Globes.

Microsoft’s Kinect gaming product, which uses cameras and depth sensors to capture players’ motions and incorporate them into Xbox gameplay. (Microsoft now deploys its own homegrown sensor technology for the current generation of Kinect devices, which ship with the recently launched Xbox One.)

This is not the first Israeli-based acquisition Apple has made. The Cupertino, Calif.-based hardware giant purchased Anobit — a supplier of high-performance flash memory controllers — earlier this year for a reported sum of $500 million.

Apple Ipad Air Review : HandsOn, User Interface, Video Tests

Easily one of the hottest pieces of hardware we've seen deserves it. Honestly, to say that a diet was all the iPad needed would be a massive understatement - after the iPad 4, which deservedly gets retired. But the way the iPad Air looks is a start made in heaven. The Air is almost 2mm thinner, and has unbelievably lost near a centimeter on each side - it's mostly screen bezel that's gone. The weight difference is the whopping 183 grams. The screen - the same gorgeous 9.7" canvas with 2048 x 1536px resolution.

Key features

* 9.7" LED-backlit IPS LCD touchscreen, pixels, ~ 264 ppi; scratch-resistant, oleophobic coating
* Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity with MIMO dual antennas
* LTE connectivity (data only)
* GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support (for the Cellular model only)
* Dual-core A7 64-bit 1.3 GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) chip with M7 motion coprocessor
* PowerVR G6430 quad-core GPU
* 1GB of RAM
* iOS 7.0.3 with iCloud support and activation
* 16/32/64/128GB of inbuilt storage
* Lighter at 469 grams (478 grams for the Cellular version)
* Thinner than ever at 7.5 mm
* Bluetooth 4.0
* Lightning USB port
* Stereo speakers
* Accelerometer, compass and three-axis gyro-sensor
* 5MP auto-focus camera
* 1080p video recording at 30fps
* 1.2MP 720p secondary camera capable of FaceTime HVGA calls
* Four and five-finger gestures
* Comes with premium set of free Apple apps - Pages, Garage Band, etc.

Main disadvantages

* Non expandable memory
* Price of storage climbs steeply, and storage is largely overpriced
* Tied into iTunes for uploading most of the content
* iOS 7 could've made better use of the bigger screen
* No standard USB port
* No GPS receiver in the Wi-Fi-only version

Along with the impressive loss of weight, the iPad Air has really stepped on the optimizations. There is a smaller battery powering the tablet but Apple promises the same 10 hours of battery life as before. The brains behind the tablet are the same as on the iPhone 5s - a class-leading 64-bit dual-core A7 chip that should be twice as fast as the predecessor's. The GPU is even a little more capable than on the iPhone, in keeping with the bigger display and higher resolution.

Apple took a big step in the right direction with this year's iPad lineup by equaling the mini and the Air's specs, so the only thing you need to choose is the screen size that works best for you. This puts the iPad Air in a sticky position, as the mini's handling and portability could be the big decider. The iPad Air, by the way, is now much more comfortable to hold and the narrower casing does wonders for single-handed operation but there's no avoiding the fact that the iPad mini is the friendlier form factor.

Last season's bigger iPad at least had the luxury of being more powerful but those days are gone.

Apple Reveals The Informations Request From Authorities : No Indian Requests

Apple puts out the sheet of data that was transferred over to the government authorities requesting user data. The Apple team has mentioned that they have provided all legally liable information to the respective authorities and there has been a confirmation that it will continue to publish the information transparently through coming years.

"We have reported all the information we are legally allowed to share," the report, issued Tuesday, states, "and Apple will continue to advocate for greater transparency about the requests we receive."

The report's Account Information Requests table, below (click to make readable), lists the exact number of requests received, acted upon, and other details from the 31 countries from which Apple received such requests. "Some countries are not listed in this report," a note reads, "because Apple has not received any information requests from the government there."

"At the time of this report," Apple notes, "the U.S. government does not allow Apple to disclose, except in broad ranges, the number of national security orders, the number of accounts affected by the orders, or whether content, such as emails, was disclosed. We strongly oppose this gag order, and Apple has made the case for relief from these restrictions in meetings and discussions with the White House, the U.S. Attorney General, congressional leaders, and the courts."

Apple confirms that there has been only very rare incidents where the really private photos and mails were requested. "In very rare cases," the report says about account requests, "we are asked to provide stored photos or email. We consider these requests very carefully and only provide account content in extremely limited circumstances."

Perhaps most important, our business does not depend on collecting personal data. We have no interest in amassing personal information about our customers. We protect personal conversations by providing end-to-end encryption over iMessage and FaceTime. We do not store location data, Maps searches, or Siri requests in any identifiable form. ... Unlike many other companies dealing with requests for customer data from government agencies, Apple's main business is not about collecting information. Adds apple giving the thumbs down to facebook, twitter, and the like.

There has been no reports on the requests from India government yet, but there has been quite a count of phone location requests from India.

SpyMeSat : New iOS App Goes Viral, Find Out If you Are Being Spied!

The app for paranoids, here is another viral app which lets you know if you are being spied by any of the satellites! Yes, you are aware of them, the capability of some of those spy satellites are unmatched and to know if they are spying on you is worth it!!

ADVERTISEMENT

The app, SpyMeSat, provides notifications when spy satellites and unclassified imaging satellites are zooming above your head and may be taking your picture.

All of the imaging satellites in SpyMeSat are in low-Earth orbit at an altitude of about 805 kilometres, SPACE.com reported.

Enabled SpyMeSat satellites include such zoom-lens notables as GeoEye, the French space agency's SPOT-5, India's CartoSat-2A, DigitalGlobe's WorldView satellites and Canada's RADARSAT-2.

"I actually got the idea for the app from talking to friends outside the aerospace industry who were always very interested in space and satellites and imaging from space. This app answers those questions in a fun and interactive way," said Alex Herz, president of Orbit Logic in Greenbelt, Maryland which developed the app.
ADVERTISEMENT
So does it give you all the information? No, not yet, the details are the set of sattelites and their orbit information. The app is currently available only for iOS.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spymesat/id691290387

Although the classified satellites of countries are excluded from the list as there are no information about the location or orbit path of these machines. For the rest, the app collects data from North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

Iphone 5C : Did Apple Really Understand The Meaning Of Cheap?

Iphone's cheaper cousin is now becoming more of a joke! The iphone 5C which was launched with a tag line 'Cheap' and was part of company's idea to reach more people using which otherwise is considered a premium choice. But the catch itself came as a big joke as the phone was priced higher or close to the older iphone5, which packed almost similar engine under the hood and an aluminum body outside.

ADVERTISEMENT

The fall of iphone 5C was obvious as people were more inclined in buying the premium iphone 5 rather thane the iphone 5C (Cheap!). A survey released this week by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners LLC found that 64 percent of U.S. iPhone customers were buying the iPhone 5s, which sports a better camera, faster processor chip and fingerprint-reading security features and starts at $199 with a carrier contract. While the company has let loose a barrage of television and other advertising, the iPhone 5c, which doesn’t have the same upgrades, was favored by 27 percent of buyers.
ADVERTISEMENT
This takes apple back to the drawing boards, as visionary Steve Jobs had said that customers will want a high end technology rather than a cheaper one. This stays true for Apple, which otherwise sells high end premium phones. But again, I feel that it is technology that is carving into Apple as Android market looks pretty strong and there is a talk among Android community that the much talked about iOS7 is actually a gingerbread version of Android!!

Although reports suggest that Apple still backs up iphone 5C with the 'Colorful' tag in its advertisements. The iphone ads alone has cost the company a whooping $333.4 Million. Customers haven’t yet been persuaded by the ads because the phone shares many of the same components and features as iPhone 5, which was introduced in September 2012, said Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray Cos. in Minneapolis.
ADVERTISEMENT
“The iPhone 5c is a new phone technically, but it’s really an old phone,” he said. “The iPhone 5s is selling significantly better.”

With these debates on, Apple has decided not to stop with iphones and is planning to launch the next ipad on October 22nd event at San Francisco. It is widely rumored that Apple will officially announce the new iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 with hardware upgrade, new processors and cameras.

Last year, the company used its October event to introduce two new tablets — the fourth-generation iPad and the iPad mini.

Apple Sued In Thai Over Broadcast Of EPL

A Thai cable television company said it was suing Apple for $3 million accusing the US technology giant of selling an application that violates its exclusive rights to English Premier League football.

CTH has also filed criminal charges against Apple Inc. and Apple Thailand with a Thai court that specialises in international trade and intellectual property disputes, he added.

Thai copyright law allows both civil and criminal actions to be brought by one party.

The complaint pivots on an application sold via Apple's App Store -- made by a Thai developer -- that shows matches on mobile devices and tablet computers from the wildly-popular English Premier League.

"This app has caused huge damage to us because it has also affected contracts we have with other telephone companies," legal advisor Paiboon Amonpinyokeat alleged, referring to deals with a Thai firm to provide exclusive football coverage.

"It's a contributory copyright infringement. We filed a civil case seeking 100 million baht ($3.1 million) in compensation," he said, adding legal action has also been taken against the app's Thai developer.

Paiboon said CTH had contacted Apple but the contentious app was still available. The court will hear the case on November 18, he added.

Apple could not immediately be reached for comment. CTH secured rights to this season's Premier League games after beating Thailand's biggest cable True Corporation in an auction, upsetting many Thai consumers who have had to change cable subscription or miss football matches.
