Ram-Leela Banned In UP; Still Grosses 93.58 Crores Globally

Even the name change has not helped "Goliyon Ki Rasleela, Ram-Leela". The latest ruling by Allahabad High Court has come in banning the movie from being screened in Uttar Pradesh. The controversial dialogues and few scenes has been cited as the reason for why the movie will be banned.

The Lucknow bench of the court comprising justices Devi Prasad Singh and Ashok Pal Singh passed the order to ban the film on a petition filed by Maryada Purshottam Bhagwan Ramleela Samiti, Bahraich.

The petitioner had prayed for cancellation of Censor Board certification given to the film on November 1 and sought that controversial and objectionable dialogues be removed from the film.

The film starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh was released on November 15.

The petition had contended that the film was hurting religious sentiments of Hindus and its title 'Ramleela' was giving a wrong message to society as Lord Ram's 'leela' (act) had great impact on Indian society.

Meanwhile, Eros International has announced a whopping Rs. 93.58 crores gross weekend worldwide for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's GOLIYON KI RASLEELA RAM-LEELA. The colourful Indian take on the classic Romeo and Juliet starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in its lead roles, released worldwide on 15th November in over 3,500 screens and grossed Rs. 68.58 crores in India (Rs. 52.75 crores net) and Rs. 25 crores ($4 million) in the overseas markets.

The film took both the Indian and overseas box office by storm by earning Rs. 16 crores nett at the domestic box office on its release day, followed by Rs. 17.25 crores on Saturday and Rs. 19.50 on Sunday. Overseas too, the film had cash registers ringing making it the highest grossing first weekend film in overseas where the weekend does not have extended public holidays.

Touted as a masterpiece by audiences and critics alike, RAM-LEELA is also currently on the 9th spot on the charts in the United Kingdom.

Wedding Bells For Sreesanth In Midst Of Hassles;Marriage To Be Held At Guruvayoor

Things might have gone topsy-turvy for him on the professional front with numerous controversies and cases, but we are happy that Sreesanth has something to look forward to in his personal life.

The cricketer is all set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend Nain, member of a royal family from Rajasthan, on December 12.

A source close to the cricketer says, "Nain is a jewellery designer and she met Sree during a match in Rajasthan about seven years ago. The IPL issues have not affected their relationship and she has been a great support to him all the while."

Apparently, the families had initially planned to hold the wedding after a year, but they later decided not to delay it as they felt it would be good for the cricketer. "He has been prepared for it. Moreover, he needs a change," the source adds.

The wedding will take place at Guruvayur temple in traditional Kerala style, followed by a reception in Kochi in true Rajasthani style, complete with a baraat. The couple is planning to settle down in Kerala post the wedding.

As far as his career is concerned, Sree is waiting to take the next step after the case is closed, the source says.

Ramleela Drives Into Controversy In The Final Days! A Case In UP For Ban

Lucknow: A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed before the Allahabad High Court`s Lucknow bench Wednesday for a ban on Bollywood film ‘Ramleela’, releasing Nov 15, if its makers did not change its name.

In her petition, social activist Nutan Thakur said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s film has been given the name ‘Ramleela’ while it has nothing to do with this pious Hindu religious event.

Instead, the petitioner says, the film calls itself ‘Ram Leela of bullets’ and that the official trailer of the film shows abusive language and intimate scenes between film actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, which are far away from the religious connotations the word ‘Ramleela’ carries.

"The use of the word `Ram Leela` is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and hence either the film`s name should be changed or the film be banned," Thakur said.

She also added that she has sought a ban on promos and denial of certificate

by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) if the producer does not change the name of the film.

In Jaipur, a court Saturday directed police to register a case against Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and others for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of people in ‘Ramleela’, a lawyer said.

The orders came on a complaint filed by lawyer Pawan Sharma.

V K Singh Claims That Army Has Paid All Ministers Of J&K Since Independence

Former Army Chief Gen V K Singh Monday claimed that the Army has paid all ministers in Jammu and Kashmir since Independence, and that everyone in the system, including the Defence Ministry, have been in the know.

Speaking to Times Now's Arnab Goswami, the retired officer claimed that the Army has been giving money to ministers to "ensure that the people are kept together", and also confirmed that the Army's controversial Technical Support Division (TSD) transferred money to an NGO based in the state.

"The Army transfers money to all the ministers in Jammu and Kashmir... there are various things to be done. As part of the stabilising factor in Jammu and Kashmir, as part of the activities to be organised," Singh told the TV channel.

Asked if all ministers are paid, Singh said, "maybe not all the ministers but certain ministers and people who are given a certain sum to get a particular thing done. That job involves bringing stability to a particular area".

Asked if Chief Minister Omar Abdullah knew about these money transfers, Singh said, "If as a chief minister you do not know this, you are not running the state".

On being asked whether the TSD paid Jammu and Kashmir minister Ghulam Hassan Mir from secret funds — as alleged by the Army probe — Singh said that "if such a possibility is there I am sure there must be a reason for a particular transaction or number of transactions to this person".

He also called Mir a unifying factor in Jammu and Kashmir and a nationalist.

The Indian Express had reported that a secret Army panel probe into the functioning of the TSD had found, among others, that Mir was paid Rs 1.19 crore to engineer a change of government in the state.

Singh claimed that money was paid to ministers as many things had to be done.

"There are various things to be done as part of the stabilising factor in Jammu and Kashmir. Who funded the KPL?" he asked, referring to the Kashmir Premier League cricket tournament. "Was it the Jammu and Kashmir government that funded it? Was it the honourable chief minister who funded it? It was the Army. Why was there a requirement for the Army to fund it is a different issue all together."

Asked if he knew all the instances of money being paid in the state, Singh said Army Chiefs "do not do micro managing. They give a task and this task is given to various commanders and the money is routed through various sources. Certain would be for perception management, certain would be for intelligence operations".

Asked if money being paid does not amount to interference in a democratically elected government, Singh said that it does not "if a civilian government is unable to get the people together..."

He also claimed that money was being paid to ministers in J&K since Independence.

"It is nothing new, for the last so many years since Independence of this country, this has been going on and has been the practice. This is a system to ensure that measures are put in place to bring harmony...it is nothing new," Singh said.

Singh said that the TSD could have paid money to an NGO in Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by The Indian Express, but claimed that it would be for unifying reasons. Singh said he was not aware when asked if the NGO was connected to YES Kashmir, a controversial organisation that has been accused of filing a court case to scuttle the appointment of Lt Gen Bikram Singh as the Army Chief.

News : Bihar Meal Tragedy, The Headmistress forced the cook

Headmistress of an Indian school where 23 pupils died after eating a free lunch contaminated with pesticides forced a cook to ignore complaints and serve the suspect food, police have claimed.

Shortly after her instruction, the cook collapsed and, 90 minutes later, the first victim, Anshu Kumar, aged four-and-a-half, died on his way to hospital. Investigators believe that the mustard oil used in cooking the meal had been contaminated with poisonous organophosphate pesticides.

The scale of the tragedy provoked violent protests from parents and relations in Chappra, Bihar, one of India's poorest states, and anger throughout the country. Several parents buried the bodies of their children in front of the school in protest on Thursday.

"We decided to bury our children in front of the school building to remind the government that they died because of their negligence," said Madav Ram, whose 12-year-old son Rahul was among the victims.

"We also plan to raise a memorial in the memory of the dead children inside the school." The Midday Meal Scheme is the world's largest and serves free lunches to 120 million pupils throughout India. Many parents send their children to school primarily for the free meal, but there have been widespread complaints of substandard and rotten food.

Abhishek Sinha, a district magistrate, told The Daily Telegraph that he believed many of the children who ate the meal at Dharmashati-Gandaman primary school on Tuesday may have been saved had the headmistress, who is now on the run, tasted the food before it was served, as required under the scheme's rules.

He said an adult would have survived the tasting but the children, aged four to 10, were more vulnerable because of their low body weight. The head, identified as Meena Devi, had been in charge of buying the food for the scheme with government funds. Sujeet Kumar, a police superintendent, said the school's cook, Manju Devi, had warned the headmistress that the oil may have been contaminated after it began emitting a foul smell during cooking. "The headmistress said, 'Continue cooking and serve the food to the children'. There is certainly negligence on the part of the headmistress, whether criminal by design or carelessness, which is under investigation," he said. Several children approached the cook after she had served them to say it had a strange taste...

Bihar Children Deaths : Insecticide found on post-mortem, either in food or cooking oil!

It is a sad tale of over 20 children losing their lives and another two dozen or so falling sick after eating their free lunch at a primary school in Bihar. While the government mid-day meal scheme in schools is such an essential component to meet the nutrition needs of thousands of children across the country, this is clearly a case of downright negligence on part of the local administration that needs strict action. The photograph captures the despair that arises out of such an incident even as the camera holds its lens on a meal being served to a bunch of school children in Bodh Gaya.

Patna Medical College Hospital superintendent Amarkant Jha Amar on Thursday said post-mortem reports on the 22 children who died after eating mid-day meal at Chapra in Saran district of Bihar show that insecticide was either in the food or cooking oil.

Dr. Amar said results of the chemical analysis of the ingredients seized from the school were still pending on Thursday.

Dr. Amar also said the 25 children and a cook still being treated in the hospital are unlikely to suffer from any serious after effects of eating the food.

The Controversy

Massive protest has been carried out by different groups at Chhapra, a district in Bihar where 23 children died after having poisonous mid-day meal in a government school. The principal and other teachers were absconding, informed police on Thursday, July 18. It was suspected that the principal along with opposition party leaders allegedly had hatched the conspiracy against the kids targeting the ruling state government.

PK Shahi, the Education Minister in Bihar, informed that all grocery items used in mid-day meals were brought from a shop which is owned by Arjun Rai, husband of the school principal. Questioning Rai's alleged role in the "conspiracy", the minister also claimed that Rai belongs to an opposition party. Shahi also said that autopsies of the children revealed that organo-Phosphorous had been injected into the meal. Raising serious questions regarding the alleged conspiracy, the minister asserted, "All the food items used to be brought from his grocery shop. It is a matter of an inquiry how poison was used."

Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project - The Review

Kudankulam is a town in the Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated 24 km north-east of Kanyakumari, 36 km from Nagercoil and about 106 km from Thiruvananthapuram. The small village has been the spot of attention for both National and International news agencies, due to the increasing protests from the locals due to the potential danger that the plant may cause to the village and neighboring places.

The Start

An Inter-Governmental Agreement on the project was signed on November 1988 by then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, for the construction of two reactors. The project remained in limbo for a decade due to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. There were also objections from the United States, on the grounds that the agreement does not meet the 1992 terms of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). Construction began only in September 2001 and the cost was estimated to be INR136.15 billion (US$3 billion).

Kudankulam now has a port which was commissioned on 14 Jan 2004 and all the light water reactor equipment are brought through this port. Prior to this, they were brought via Road, after lodging from Tuticorin Port, but this had risks of damage during transportation.

In 2008, negotiations on building four additional reactors at the site began. Though the capacity of these reactors has not been declared, it was expected that the capacity of each reactor will be 1200 MW or 1.2 GW. The new reactors would bring the total capacity of the power plant to 6800MW or 6.8 GW

Progress

The Unit I of the plant had dummy fuel loaded into it in April 2010, and the hot run of nuclear steam supply system was conducted in August 2011. After successful testing, the dummy fuel was removed in June 2012 and in October, nuclear fuel was loaded. The reactor was loaded with fuel assemblies containing about 80 tonnes of uranium oxide. Subsequently, a number of safety tests at the operating temperature and pressure were carried out. Unit I achieved 99.7% physical progress as on December 2012.

Technical and viability

Two 1 GW reactors of the VVER-1000 model are being constructed by the Nuclear Power corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Atomstroyexport. When completed they will become the largest nuclear power generation complex in India producing a cumulative 2 GW of electric power. Both units are water-cooled, water-moderated power reactors. The first was scheduled to start operation in December 2009 and the second one was scheduled for March 2010. Currently, the official projections put unit 1 into operation in May 2012, and unit 2 will go in July 2012.

Four more reactors are set to be added to this plant under a memorandum of intent signed in 2008.[15] A firm agreement on setting up two more reactors, has been postponed pending the ongoing talks on liability issues. Under an inter-government agreement signed in December 2008 Russia is to supply to India four third generation VVER-1200 reactors of 1170 MW.
The reactors have some advanced safety features like passive heat removal system, double containment, Core Catcher, and hydrogen re-combiner instead of conventional systems.

Safety Comments

Former Indian President Dr. Abdul Kalam had expressed satisfaction about the safety of the Kudankulam Nuclear Plant after having detailed discussion with KNPP officials and inspecting the safety features of the plant.

Former chairman of Atomic Energy Commission of India Srinivasan said that one should never compare the Fukushima plant with Kudankulam and added "The Fukushima plant was built on a beachfront, but the Kudankulam was constructed on a solid terrain and that too keeping all the safety aspects in mind. Also, we are not in a tsunami prone area. The plants in Kudankulam have a double containment system which can withstand high pressure. At least Rs140 billion has been spent. If we don't operate the plant immediately, it will affect the economic stability of our country".

A center panel constituted by the Government of India, which did a survey of the safety features in the plant, said the Kudankulam reactors are the safest and fears of the people are not based on scientific principles. Dr. Muthunayagam, the panel's convener, also added that the protesters have asked for some documents which are not related to the safety of the reactor, hence he suspects the very nature of their questions. Nuclear scientist and principal scientific adviser to the federal Government of India Rajagopala Chidambaram has said “We have learnt lessons from the Fukushima nuclear accident, particularly on the post-shutdown cooling system,” and also added Fukushima nuclear accident should not deter or inhibit India from pursuing a safe civil nuclear program.

Safety Regulations

Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) satisfied itself that the plant is of proven design. Indian specialists visited Russia and had significant exchange of information from nuclear power plant designers. Indian engineers had completed licensing training process in either Balakova nuclear power plant (NPP) or Kalinin NPP.

The AERB and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and specialists from reputed academic institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, the Boilers Board and the Central Electricity Authority have spent over 7,000 man-days in carrying out the safety review and inspection of the Kudankulam reactors.

These system-wise reviews were comprehensive. AERB used relevant documents from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and IAEA's peer reviews of VVER for safety assessment of these reactors.

These reactors belong to the Generation 3 + category (with more safety features than Generation 3) with a simpler and standardised design.

The Kudankulam site is located in the lowest seismic hazard zone in the country. The water level experienced at the site due to the December 26, 2004 tsunami, triggered by a 9.2 earthquake was 2.2 metres above the mean sea level. The safety-related buildings are located at higher elevation (SafetyDiesel Generators,9.3 metre) and belong to the highest seismic category and are closed with double sealed, water leak tight doors.

The reactors have redundant, diverse and thus reliable provisions needed to control nuclear reactions, to cool the fuel and to contain radioactive releases. They have in–built safety features to handle Station Black Out.

Besides fast acting control rods, the reactors also have a “quick boron injection system”, serving as a back-up to inject concentrated boric acid into the reactor coolant circuit in an emergency. Boron is an excellent neutron absorber.

The enriched uranium fuel is contained in Zirconium-Niobium tubes. It can retain the radioactivity generated during the operation of the reactor. The fuel tubes are located in the 22 cm thick Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) which weighs 350 tonnes. RPV is kept inside a one metre thick concrete vault.

The reactor has double containment, inner 1.2 metre-thick concrete wall lined on the inside with a 6 mm layer of steel and an outer 60 cm thick concrete wall. The annulus between the walls is kept at negative pressure so that if any radioactivity is released it cannot go out. Air carrying such activity will have to pass through filters before getting released through the stack. Multiple barriers and systems ensure that radioactivity is not released into the environment.

Its Passive Heat Removal System (PHRS) is capable of removing decay heat of reactor core to the outside atmosphere, during Station Black Out (SBO) condition lasting up to 24 hours. It can maintain hot shutdown condition of the reactor, thus, delaying the need for boron injection.

Located outside the reactor vessel, a core catcher in the form of a vessel weighing 101 tonnes and filled with specially developed compound (oxides of Fe, Al & Gd) is provided to retain solid and liquid fragments of the damaged core, parts of the reactor pressure vessel and reactor internals under severe accident conditions.

The presence of gadolinium (Gd) which is a strong neutron absorber ensures that the molten mass does not go critical. The vessel prevents the molten material from spreading beyond the limits of containment. The filler compound has been developed to have minimum gas release during dispersal and retention of core melt.Rat

The Controversy

The protesters are claiming that the officials are not providing enough documentation in concern with the safety measures that were taken in the plant. Either this could be a security concern or the government suspects a foreign intervention, thereby compromising the security of the plant.

What we forget is, Fukushima plant spread gloom; the Onagawa plant close to it, in contrast, shut down safely; its gym served for three months as a shelter for those made homeless (Reuters, Oct 21). The plant showed that it is possible for nuclear facilities to withstand even the greatest shocks and to retain public trust.

A group of scientists, in their three-page petition, have expressed doubts "particularly with reference to possible sub-standard components" that were supplied to the plant. Recently, four faulty valves were detected in the first reactor unit of the plant; they were later replaced. Some Russian officials had also been arrested recently over alleged corruption in sourcing sub-standard materials from some Russian nuclear plants.

"Any exercise to assure oneself of the quality of components used will have to be done before the plant is commissioned. Once commissioned, the radioactive environment in sections of the plant will make it impossible to access and test some potentially-critical components," the petition said.(The Full Petition)

The protesters base their objection on the "more than 1 million people live within the 30 km radius of the KKNPP which far exceeds the AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) stipulations. It is quite impossible to evacuate this many people quickly and efficiently in case of a nuclear disaster at Koodankulam", etc.

There are allegations from various agencies throughout India and officials from Home Ministry that several Christian organisations and Christian NGOs are behind the protest against KKNPP. The Church of South India, The Catholic Bishops Conference of India and the National Council of Churches openly oppose the KKNPP. It is also implicitly recognizable that officials in the Catholic Church of these regions too spread rumors through anti-nuclear videos from church premises and through Missionary Schools. The prime motives for opposing the Nuclear Reactor were allegedly multi-faceted. One of the allegations was that the project was meant to damage the Russian civil nuclear credibility and to make it impossible for Russia to recover costs of construction, and thereby, artificially creating a state of uncertainty for future foreign investments in India. Another was that it was meant to increase the inevitable dependability of India towards the US alone for future foreign investments.

Resul Pookutty : Clarifies, his quote manipulated!

506073_Free Customization
In an interview given to a leading newspaper,Hindustan Times, Pookutty was quoted as saying, "Satyamev Jayate was a completely doctored show. A lot of sound post-production work was done on the show. It was treated just like a film. Like how you sound (mixing) is handled in a film so that you can sort of emotionally blackmail audiences. That's what was done with SMJ."

This had created much of a stir to the otherwise, a historic show on Indian television. This was not the first of criticism that the show had received, but ofcourse, this was the strongest of them as it was the sound engineer of the show himself claiming that the show was manipulated.

Aamir Khan was however not available for a comment after multiple tries by various news agencies. The latest comment was posted on the occasion of launch to Tim Sebastian show - The Outsider With Tim Sebastian. However, Pookutty wasn't sure how his quote got manipulated and shown on air, so he immediately posted the tweet clarifying himself.

"Misinterpretation and a doctored story quoting me on #satyamevjayate in todays HT. Sad journalism. Spoke on Tim Sebastian shw, dis came out!" tweets Resul.

Resul is also associated with the The Outsider, and he in a recent interaction with TOI says, "Our show bears no resemblance to Aamir Khan's 'Satyamev Jayate'. In fact I was grossly misinterpreted in an interview where I was quoted as saying that Aamir's show was doctored. Who am I to question Aamir's show? I've the highest regard for what Aamir does."

"I'm sorry to have been a reason to cause hurt to @aamir_khan. I never intent to.what smj has done is what our govt couldn't do in 65y. " says Resul through a tweet later.

Resul also had to call in Aamir to explain the situation for what he feels is a poor way to bring in subscriptions. However the damage was already done and the news was celebrated throughout the media.

About the new show he says "We're doing our job on Tim Sebastian's show. There's no point of comparison with this show and any other.I'm totally impressed by Tim. Before shooting each episode he personally meets each of the 54 crew members. When he came to India he had a dvd of 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'.Coincidentally I was involved with that. Tim didn't know that," says Resul fondly.

Tim Sebastian is one of the renowned journalist of BBC and his Indian show 'The Outsider With Tim Sebastian' takes off on a new channel UTV's Bloomberg on Saturday.

Salman Khan thanks the three F's in his life!

384529_Take Flight with our Aviator Eyewear!
Salman Khan - the name that makes the fans go woohoo and his mere smile drives girls crazy. He has been living the true star life and he thanks god for the blessings showered upon him and keeping his F's strong that makes him drive the B-town with pride and yet single.

Talking to a tabloid, the actor mentioned that he might not remain single forever - and marriage is on charts any moment but for the time being it is his movie 'Ek Tha Tiger' that is his concentration. The actor said that he is happy to have done the role is excited to see its release in few weeks to come.

In all the ups and downs through his career - he thanked the three important F's of his life - Family, Friends and Fans - and he feels that without them he might be a different person altogether.

The actor also said that he has been dragged into controversies for no concrete reasons and has been subjected to undue criticism. And hence, he prefers to keep mum on issues that show him in bad light.

And on being asked whether he has now got used to all the brickbats, the actor said, “I feel blessed that I haven’t seen or felt real pain to be immune to it. But I am dreading the time it comes. I feel blessed to have everything going fine. My parents’ health is good, my brothers are well-settled, I have a great brother-in-law and my own career is doing fine. I hope and pray that I am fit and fine always.”

Bless you Salman :)

Kabir Khan - Friendship and Fights with Salman

Even friends of Salman Khan would admit the fact that its tough at the start to be with Salman Khan, so has Kabir Khan, the director of the movie Ek Tha Tiger accepts - he was talking to TOI recently. "I will be honest. It took time for Salman and me to come on the same page. There were teething issues on how we look at the scenes and his character." says Kabir Khan.

In fact, Kabir revealed that perhaps they pushed the actor a bit too far when it came to the action sequences. "But after we learnt about his illness, we got scared and were careful. In fact, we have used a body double as much as any other filmmaker would," said Kabir.

Speaking about the stunt sequences in the movie Kabir Khan was open to what he wanted  "We did not use cables like in other films. I did not want Salman to look like a superhero but a fit and agile man. I don't want to sound pompous but this film is going to redefine action in Hindi cinema. The action sequences take the story forward and are different from what Salman has so far done in his career. There has to be an attempt to reintroduce the actor," Kabir told TOI.

"Salman reports on the sets on his own time. He does not start his day early. And he was clear about it before we went on floors. But once he is on the sets, he is all yours till you wrap up. So well, you just have to plan your day with him intelligently," explained the director.

Fights with Katrina Kaif on Costumes

"Katrina and Salman go back a long way. He was very involved in their scenes together and her costumes. They have a certain equation. Even Salman seeks her opinion. But yes, there was an incident where they disagreed over Katrina's costume in the song. It was over a particular cut in the black blouse she has worn with a yellow skirt." says the director.

After all, the director revealed, "Salman has had a say in many things that have gone into Ek Tha Tiger." A dress is perhaps just a small part.

Its coming hard on both director and actors but they still say that Salman is close to their hearts!

Anurag portraying Wasseypur in bad light?

Cast of Gangs of Wasseypur at Cannes Film Festival

Gangs of Wasseypur is the upcoming project from Anurag Kashyap who is known for his off-beat topics. But this time around, he is trying to portray a topic which is known more to the commercial side of Bollywood. The topic revolves around rivalry between coal mine owners around Wasseypur. The movie has been designed with all the commercial elements that you will see in the commercial movies, the colourful scenes, fights, raunchy acts ... Anurag seems to have touched the base about the subject. The movie has been regarded good and is waiting turn to be screened at the 65th Cannes Film Festival.

Now when all these parts mention the good side of the movie, what does people of Wasseypur, a village in Jharkhand feel about the movie? They feel its stupid! The movie is said to be portraying the people of Wassseypur in bad light and they have been very unhappy about this. The social activists around Wassseypur has now submitted a memorandum to Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni and Babulal Marandi requesting ban on the movie. Copies was also sent to Governor Dr Sayed Ahmed and Union Minister Subodhkant Sahay.

The people of Nayabazar, Wasseypur feels that the movie has several situations/dialogues which are done with an intention to defame the people of Wasseypur! They wont agree to anything short of a Ban to the movie and this puts the controversy factor (which usually filmmakers search for) to the movie!

Social activist Parvez Akhtar said Naya Bazaar, Wasseypur is a Muslim-dominated area with a total population of around 2 lakh. He further told Bhaskar News that most of the people in area work in administrative capacities. Portraying the place in such a bad light, in contrast to reality is demeaning, he added.

Now we will have to wait on what Anurag has to say about this, as in promos there are few intentional scenes that might question the morality of people there, but does movies always reflect the true culture of a place?

We are sure this might be tagged as movie which has no resemblance to anyone living or dead!

Salman Khan a synonym for controversy?

No, seriously we cannot think anything else about Salman Khan, but controversy. He has been stirring up controversial statements, making wrong moves and what not. Indiaviolet totally adores him for the actor he is but really wish we could separate out Salman from controversies. The recent controversial statement by Salman just adds to the rivalry between SRK and Salman, he recently announced "Sachin ke record todna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hai...aur ye Don nahin main bol raha hoon. Aur bol bhi sakta hoon kyonki mera father (Salim Khan) ne likhi hai ye picture. Rights toh unhi ke paas ahin. Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) ne ki thi ye picture."

SRK has been good enough to avoid a fight and says "I get numb by the kind of stories I keep hearing about myself. I try not to take them seriously or comment about them.” The conflict worsened when Salman agreed to perform at IPL opening night in Chennai, even though it meant SRK’s giving the event a skip.

He has also been said to avoid Amitabh Bachchan during the rehearsals of IPL innaugration ceremony, where the two have separate performances scheduled. He had also avoided Amitabh Bachchan during the funeral of Mona Kapoor, ex-wife to Boney Kapoor. The recent event at IPL rehearsals is creating much of a buzz and a source says ""Since Salman got to the venue around the time Amitabh was rehearsing on the stage, he chose to wait it out in his vanity van before he came on the stage,".

At the funeral, he had avoid to step out of car until Big B had paid visit and left the house. So we aren't sure why this is all so tough. We can't find any other cause that the Aishwariya Rai factor, so it seems that the past is still haunting him or he wants to avoid a bigger controversy.

SRK's bonded with Pak ISI??

Dont feel scary, it aint true. But that was the allegations which was fuming up in recent hours when there was a news outbreak about hidden friendship between Shah Rukh Khan and the new ISI cheif Zahir-ul-Islam. Since this outbreak, the media has been writing great stuffs about the actor and his alleged relationships.

It was reported that the new Pakistani Intelligence Chief Islam is the nephew of Indian National Army hero Shah Nawaz Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's late mother Lateef Fatima was the adopted daughter of Shah Nawaz. But now, Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has officially announced that these claims are false.

If the above were to be true, then it would have meant that SRK is a nephew to Islam, but the media has corrected themselves and have mentioned that the controversy was baseless. SRK who is busy at London shooting for the Yash Raj movie along with Katrina Kaif.

We hope he tweets about the mess that was created by media!!

Pacing of Mausam was its biggest flaw - Sonam Kapoor

It seems that Shahid Kapoor's nightmare doesn't end with the storyline and boxoffice performance of 'Mausam' , now the lead actress of the movie, Sonam Kapoor has decided to bash the movie and has complained about the pace. It is said that the two actors did have differences during the shoot of the movie and Shahid had also complained that Sonam Kapoor was not keen enough to promote the movie.

It seems that the differences went wider with the box office performance and now when her movie 'Players' is ready to leash out, a magazine decided to ask about how she felt about the movie and she says "I think the pacing of Mausam was its biggest flaw. It wasn't something young kids would like to watch,"

We hope this subside the way it is, but we will certainly hear shortly from Shahid about what he feels about this comment.

This is an original movie - SRK

Sharukh Khan is too upset with the latest allegations against his movie Don 2: The Chase Begins at the last moments. There were reports that the writers for Don (Amitabh Bachchan movie) has filed a copyright infringement case against the Excel entertainment crew. As the legal procedures are progressing, SRK has opted to clarify his stand on the issue and have mentioned it thoroughly that the film is original and has nothing to be claimed as a sequel to the Don produced by Nariman Films.

He spoke to the media and said "My producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and I are wondering where such stories come from. Even when we made the original 2006 version of Don; we had done our due diligence and taken whatever permissions where there to be sought from the script point of view. While my producers are best qualified to give a fitting reply to the whole matter, I as a lead actor can say that as for the sequel, the Amitabh Bachchan Don never had a sequel. So where is the question of us copying anything. Farhan and his team have worked on the script, I know for a fact that we haven't copied from anywhere and this is an original script.''

He also mentioned that media should take up some responsibility to avoid such reports being spread over the genuine script as this movie. "The media must also look into the merits of the entire case before reporting. After all many people have worked hard on the script. I have full respect for the media and I know that 99 per cent of the people do not fall for wrong leads; however even that one percent who tend to get swayed must try and hear out both versions of a story". He added.

He further clarified that "Excel Entertainment has not infringed any copyright leave alone that of Don, starring Amitabh Bachchan by producing Don 2. Further, Excel Entertainment is the bona-fide author and owner of copyright of the Films "Don The Chase Begins Again" (i.e. Don 1), which has been confirmed by Nariman Films in writing. Excel is also the owner of the copyrights of Don 2. In 2005, Nariman Films has given rights to Excel Entertainment, in perpetuity, for making "Don The Chase Begins Again".

SRK concluded that "The fact of Excel Entertainment making Don 2 has been in the public domain since 2009. It seems that it has now become a practice to give notices just before release of a film to extract monies. We at Excel Entertainment have done nothing wrong and shall stick to the correct legal and moral principals and defend what is right."

We will have to wait further to see how this unfolds!
