Emraan watched Adult Movies, but Shanghai comes clean - U/A certificate

Shanghai is one of the most anticipated movies to be released in June 15, the movie had been said to have many controversial scenes and the makers were trying hard to get a U/A certificate, as it was very close to be tagged with A certificate. The film has been cleared with a U/A certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, though the CBFC has accorded the film a U/A certification, one major cut has been suggested to the makers. The cut in question is a scene where a local politician is being abused. 

Earlier this week, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) had been filed in the Delhi High Court by Tejinder Bagga of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena against the song 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' asking for an interim stay on the release of the film till the song is deleted. He felt that the song projects India in very poor light. However, the song has been cleared by the Revising Committee when submitted to the board members earlier.

Emraan Watched lot of Adult Movies for the character!

Emraan Harshmi who plays the dark character in the movie and that of a porn director, says he had to watch a lot of adult movies to get to the groove. Earlier on a candid interview he said "I watched a lot of porn,” said the actor cheekily. "Dibakar told me that my role will be that of a small time journalist, who even shoots small porn films to earn a living. He told me, `Yeh sab jo role play kiya hai tumne apni har movie mein camera ke samne, ab camera ke peeche yeh sab shoot karna hai.` He actually made me graduate with this character. Also in this movie, he has made me run after the girl. Har picture mein ladkiyan mere peeche bhaagti hain, lekin iss film mein main Kalki ke peeche bhaag raha hoon."

Emraan plays the role of a local journalist Jogi Parmer, and his looks for the movie has been made very close to 'ugly' and he sportily says "Yahan jitne log baithe hai, sab bhaag jaate, had I come in my Jogi Parmar get-up," laughed Emraan.

He also expressed his happiness in getting a U/A certificate for the movie "I actually wanted to do a saaf-suthra film as many would call it, for my son, who is just two years old. I`d want my son to see at least one film of mine before he turns 18, which he can`t right now. So I`m happy to have signed a U film," said Emraan.

The movie will also find Abhay Deol in a serious character and he now plays a South Indian IPS officer, and he is also expected to mouth Tamil dialogues, hope he does a good job there.

A lip lock leaked - from Shangai - by Kalki!

Kali Koechlin is always as bold as you could imagine, be her challenging role in Dev D or her funny side in ZNMD, she has proved from time and time that she is a true performer. So when it came to Shanghai, who could pull her back? She is said to have been involved in the role and she has given her 100% or may be more for the role. When it came to the love making sequence of the movie, she wasn't tad hesitant to pull the sensational lip-lock with Bengali Superstar Prosenjith Chatterjee. And the video is already on loose even before the movie is edited!

The rumor is that Kalki was so involved in the kiss scene that she literally bit off the actor's lip when the sequence was complete. The smooch is not a part of a lovemaking scene. Director Dibakar Banerjee instructed Kalki to “attack” Prosenjit during the shoot of the scene. Kalki is seen making the first move and Prosenjit Chatterjee succumbs to the lure of the moment.

Speaking to a daily Dibakar says "Kalki was getting into the role quite easily, but the job was tough and challenging. So after each shot we saw her rush to her room and cry out to make the emotions reach the pin point!", he also adds "While filming, she actually bit PC sir's lips!”

The character played by Kalki and Prosenjith shares a special chemistry and a sexual one in the movie. Kalki plays the character of a young girl who idolizes Prosenjith who plays a firebrand. The relationship between the older male and younger girl will be teased through the movies and is expected to create a stir. 

Kalki although did not end up happy after the shoot as Dibakar forgot to say 'cut' after the sequence and she  is said to have been mad about it. The scene went bit more bizarre than what was practiced by the two actors. However Prosenjith was cool about it (*sigh!)

Now we wonder if it was accidentally leaked or was there a purpose!!

Shanghai is produced by PVR Pictures and releases on June 8. It also stars Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi.

Emraan to be a Adult filmmaker

Now, if we made a checklist of all dirty characters that Emraan Hashmi has played, he has done the goon, he has been the underworld don, the serial kisser, but it seems that he is still not good with the status he enjoys, he now becomes a Adult filmmaker for his next movie Shanghai. Now few of you would have thought he was doing it in real, sorry, not this time!

At a press conference held to talk about Shanghai, filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee proudly boasted of Abhay Deol, who plays a Tamil IAS officer. Along with them, Emraan and Kalki Koechlin too grabbed eyeballs. The latest news is that Abhay Deol will be learning Tamil for the movie as well, the director wants to add the most natural feel to the characters and it is in demand that Abhay does learn tamil, speaking to the media, Dilbakar says "The biggest challenge in this film is that Abhay Deol will have to learn Tamil. He plays a Tamilian and has to speak several lines in Tamil throughout the film. For that, he will be first learning the language," . Buckle up Abhay!

When reminded about the previous attempt by SRK in Ra.One, where he attempted to speak in Tamil was disliked by many in South, the director says  he is confident about the talents of Abhay Deol and expects him to cover up the troubles of speaking in Tamil.

The media did question on why an Adult Filmmaker role went to Emraan, for which the director in good humor says "He (characters played by Emraan) used to kiss girls in the morning. Now he shoots porn films in the night after 12... That is quite a progression. It is actually graduation."

"He is a model coordinator. He is a small-town journalist and he shoots porn films. Yes that had to come... I was like... this is a very interesting character and Dibakar was like he shoots porn at night, I was like okay that sounds familiar," added Dilbakar.

The production team for the movie is yet to be finalized, although there are rumors about Balaji productions showing keen interest in the project. The directory says ""There are no producers as such on board yet." continuing about the plot of the movie he added "The film is based on a European novel published in the mid-1960s. We are still negotiating for the rights of the book. Ever since I read the book, I wanted to convert it into a film. Of course, I will adapt it to Indian sensibilities. The film deals with three principal characters. Abhay plays a South Indian judge, while the other characters are a journalist who sells soft porn to magazines and an expat social worker, who will be female."

The team is still in search of the second heroine who plays opposite Abhay, and the actress is said to be finalized within few more days. The director has his movie Love, Sex Aur Dhoka (LSD) in the waiting and will be taking a break after the release "This movie has completely drained me emotionally and I need to give sometime to myself. The script is already written and ready and will only go on floors by the end of next year. Unconventional subjects are my forte, but this film will not be bolder than LSD. Trust me, you will not have seen a bolder film than LSD in your life."

The controversial fights and issues with Emraan and Abhay also dies with this movie but when the media did ask them about the controversies, they punched each other in air and says ""We absolutely hate each other."
