Dabaang 2 : Meetings & Decisions - behind closed doors

377692_Hayden_Success_Banner_300x250
Dabaang 2 is a special project for the Khan brothers as it will mark the debut of the actor-turned producer-director, Arbaaz Khan. But when the recent fire mishap(click here for detailed report) happened at the sets, this really shocked the crew and it is said that Arbaaz was quick to call off the shoot for Sunday. He also is calling up the production crew to report back to him to learn what went wrong with the sequence. The rumors are that the Khan's are also doing the meetings and all is done behind closed doors.

"Salman bhai was shocked that something like this could have happened for a film of his. Thankfully all three injured men survived but things could have gone worse. Arbaaz bhai (who is doubling up as a producer and a director) immediately cancelled the Sunday shoot though he instructed his production team to report for work. The agenda was not just to find out how the incident had occurred but also identify measures to be taken so that none of that is repeated." says a source at the sets.

It is said that Salman Khan is also getting involved in the meetings as he never likes his crew members getting hurt. "Those in charge of action, sets and power supply have been asked to adhere to the guidelines. Both brothers are mighty upset with the incident. They were also fully aware that rest of the crew wouldn't have been in a good frame of mind to continue shooting on the very next day and hence cancelled the Sunday shoot. However work resumed on Monday, though with a far stricter check. It is business as usual now but both Arbaaz and Salman would be keeping a close eye on how the days progress" adds the source.

Arbaaz later reported back to the media "All of them are out of danger. In fact two of them would be discharged soon while the third would take four-five weeks to recuperate. However good care is being taken of him. We are sad and disappointed that this happened on our sets. We had an all-heads meeting on Sunday and there are a list of do's and don'ts shared all over again. Such mishaps are unacceptable and we are taking extra measures to ensure there is no repeat."

Salman Khan still does stunts!

Salman, who is suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia - a neuropathic disorder, was earlier advised by the medical crew that he shouldn't be doing stunt scenes(click here for the report). But it seems that it is not been followed by the actor who was recently seen shooting stunt scenes for Dabaang 2. It is said that the crew is taking extreme care on the stunts that are performed by Salman. Especially his safety lines have been hiked following the mishap at the Mehboob studios.

Salman back to US for treatment!

Its a tough news but that is what the latest is coming in from Salman's camp, Salman Khan who went to US last year to perform a surgery for his neural problem is said to be flying again to US for further treatment. The actor who was advised earlier by doctors not to perform stunts or action sequences was still doing it for Ek Tha Tiger and it seems that this has taken its toll.

Talking to a leading daily, a source close to the actor said, “Even a slight misjudged punch on the face could trigger off his condition and cause acute pain," The friend revealed that a collective decision has been taken by the family members and the filmmakers of Salman`s upcoming ventures to keep him "out of danger as much as possible.”

The producers and directors are already taking up precautions to prevent any further hassle with his condition. His upcoming movies are Arbaaz Khan's Dabaang 2, Sohail's Sher Khan and Shirish Kunder's Kick, which are all, ironically, action movies. Arbaaz and Sohail who are already planning the shoots have decided to keep the superstar out of the action sequences as much as possible.

According to TOI, Sohail Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala, producers of Sher Khan and Kick respectively, have already hired the best stunt directors and body doubles from Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Salman however, is not willing to let go completely. According to a source, the actor insists on being present while the body doubles do the complicated action scenes.

This is in addition to the latest mishap which happened at the sets of 'Dabaang 2' in which a stuntman was seriously injured.(news here) It is also said that Salman wanted to do that action sequences himself, but it was Arbaaz who made him do away with it. A source says "Arbaaz is trying his best to avoid Salman Khan from doing the stunts and he is taking precautions from him getting into accidents at the sets".

Get Well Soon Sallu!

Salman Beats SRK : Dabaang 2 gets a lumsum!!

When it comes to satellite rights, it has been always a game of superstars. Shah Rukh Khan has always ruled the game as his movies will be sold with the highest satellite prices. SRK was sky high when his movie Don2's satellite rights went on sale for Rs 32 crore. This was one of the highest paid prices at the time period and it seems that the record did not stay long.

The recent news is that among the tempting offers that were placed before Arbaaz Khan over the Salman Khan starrer 'Dabaang 2', he has accepted the Rs. 42 Crore offer and has already beat the best prices that were laid out by SRK or Karan Johar. Earlier it was Hrithik Roshan starer 'Agneepath' which went to Star Satellite communications for a whooping price of Rs. 37 Crore.

Sources are still not confirming that Arbaaz has accepted the current offer but unofficially this is the satellite price that is marked for Dabaang 2.

Now the latest bench mark set by Salman Khan will be the target for SRK to break when his next movie is ready. But for now, as it was the trend last year, Salman Khan is coming back with his Dabaang style and is all set to rule the cinemas when the movie is ready. Arbaaz is planning to start filming the movie by mid of this year and the movie should be in cinemas by the end of 2012.

Its an amazing trend that a movie which is not yet started is grabbing a great sum in rights and it should already be declared a hit before even it reaches the cinemas!!

Lage raho Sallu Miah!!

Arbaaz decides my item songs - Malaika

Undoubtedly the queen of cameo's Malaika Arora Khan, who had lit the screens with 'Munni' in Dabaang has come back with another hit, Anarkali, which is her upcoming item number from the movie 'Houseful 2'. The song has already gained publicity and is trending now. But she gives all credit for her song selections to her husband and director-actor Arbaaz Khan.

“Deciding on one number is a very difficult task for me. But I have to give credit to Arbaaz for that. Every time I’m contemplating doing a song, I ask him. As for me, I pretty much go with the fact that I like performing; and I also consider who I am going to be working with,” says Malaika (Click here for the song)

Apart from the sizzling number in Houseful 2, she has also shared few scenes in the movie and she is excited about this part as well "I’ve done a few scenes. They come at a very appropriate time in the film and take the plot forward. The name Anarkali has been mentioned through the film. Sometimes the characters speak about her, but no one knows who she is, until she finally arrives in the song,”.

When asked about a full fledged role in a movie, she strongly denies and says "That was never on my agenda. Also, I think it’s a bit late in the day to decide whether I want to be an actor or not. I’m happy in my space as a producer,”. She was seen performing in the Salman Khan starrer 'Dabaang' where she had worked with her husband Arbaaz and Dhilin Mehta.

Arbaaz is also planning to make directorial debut with 'Dabaang 2', the sequel to Dabaang and we might see another version of 'Munni' or a better one as Malaika confirms that the music directors are already preparing a song for her to perform! "We have some fantastic songs. Music composers Sajid-Wajid keep saying that one of them is made for me, but as of now we haven’t decided what we should do,” she says.

Waiting... ;-)

Salman Khan's is ready for Dabaang 2

Salman Khan is busy completing his schedule for 'Ek Tha Tiger' in Istanbul, and he is planning on his return soon. The actor currently has a busy schedule on the run as he will have little time to relax before the start of 'Dabaang 2' which is going to be a in-house production and will be directed by his brother Arbaaz Khan.

Both the actors had requested time before they moved into the 'Dabaang 2' project and it seems that the time is just about it. The latest news is that Salman Khan has already started preparations for the upcoming project and is excited to join back to the Dabaang crew shortly.

The movie will have Sonakshi Sinha doing the lady love of the crazy police inspector 'Chulbul Pandey' and there will be almost the same crew as we saw in 'Dabaang' with the exception of Sonu Soodh, who will not be playing the villain in the movie. Dabaang had lit screens on fire and had set new records at the time of release last year which did motivate the crew to make the sequel. (more stories here).

Dabaang 2 will start its shooting by mid of this year and will be released all over by the end of 2012.

Anurag with new bonds?

Anurag Kashyap who is known for not following the standards of bollywood and who is keen on questioning the normal trend of Bollywood movies seems to be thinking otherwise, or atleast his new bonds does give a indication of so. The recent patchups that he has been making might be an indication of something new or bigger in the camp.

The director has been found to patch up with Arbaaz Khan in a party. As it was known that he was in a fight with Khan's (Salman & Arbaaz) over twitter. It seems that the patch up is evident and Anurag - Arbaaz did have a long conversation at Farhan Akhtar's birthday party. The fight had started with the removal of Abhinav Kashyap from the direction of Dabaang 2, which made the brother angry and hence the fight.

Also Anurag had tried SRK when he said that it was not good to choose SRK for his dream project 'Bombay Velvet', although he did clarify that he had Aamir Khan in mind when he thought about the movie but the fight was always brewing and ready to be hit. But the patchup act is now on, as the director was found talking to Shah Rukh over a party and the team was also found to meetup at the SRK house in Bandra.

A source at the party says " Last week at a party for one of the upcoming awards SRK, Anurag, Kalki, Gulshan Deviah and Karan Johar were seen hanging out together. In fact they left the venue together. Everyone was surprised because it was a whole new gang bonding with each other."

"After the party, the whole gang was spotted at SRK`s Bandra bungalow. So it looks like there was some serious discussion going on,” added the source.

So is the film still on Anurag?

Arbaaz Khan gets his email hacked!

Mumbai: As the uncle speaks to Spider man " With more power comes more responsibility "; this saying will have to be altered as "With more hits come more attacks" well this has not been true for all actors/producers, but Arbaaz Khan should feel so. He was hacked the second time in a row and his email address went into the wrong hands. The actor/director/producer was very upset with this act and he tweeted:

 Arbaaz Khan
 Arbaaz Khan
 Arbaaz Khan
 Arbaaz Khan

Arbaaz Khan has been on the height of success with the debut movie he produces 'Dabaang' created high scores and successes. The movie went ahead to be the block buster of the year and broke all the charts and records. The inspiration of this movie was such strong that he is about to be doing a sequel and for the first time he will be directing the movie and the star cast is set to remain the same (more)

With this in light he does feel pretty bad on these attacks!

Dabaang 2 next year?

Chulbul Pandey Returns!

Chulbul Pandey, a famous character from Salman Khan's super hit Dabaang is set to return by 2012. Dabaang was a super duper hit of 2010 and since then Salman has showed the urge to start the new movie. The sequel of Dabaang is directed by Arbaaz Khan, brother to Salman. The reports mention that they are to start the shoot for the movie by January 2012. The sequel will start at where it ended in the previous movie and the star cast of Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood will return to the silver screen.

The movie was much appreciated for the new look and style which Salman Khan had portrayed and the acting skills of Sonakshi Sinha was much appreciated too. The movie was all good masala entertainment and really rocked the screen. In this context, Arbaaz Khan is bit tensed on the sequel and he wants his movie to be equal to match the prequel. He is taking off from all other responsibilities and is taking time to rewrite the scripts to make the movie super hit.

Speaking to media, Arbaaz Khan mentioned that the lead stars will be the same, but there has been no confirmation of the rest of the cast. According to him the time is too early to mention the details. He confirmed that the movie will set flight the start of next year!
