Talaash Promos Hits the right note

When the first trailer of Talaash was released, unfortunately it did not show the suspense element or gave an idea to the audience on what to expect, but this negative point has been resolved in the current trailer that was released. The movie clearly shows what the 'Talaash' is about and how the sync of characters happen. It just clarifies the point that this is not a male version of 'Kahaani' nor it mentions that it needs 'Satyamev Jayate' for promotions.

The movie trailer is trending at the moment but very away from 'Jab Tak Hain Jaan'. The movie 'Talaash' has been in news for all the good and bad reasons, starting from the fall off between the director Reema Katgi and Aamir Khan to the latest cameo controversy which involved Rajnikanth. But it seems that Farhan Akhtar's magic did away with the issues between the actor and director and has also resolved the controversial cameo affair with Rajnikanth. The movie is now all set to release on November 30th this year. 

The film which is touted by the trade circles to be one of the most-awaited ones, also star actors Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. While Rani plays Aamir’s wife in the film, Kareena’s role is apparently that of a commercial sex worker. This will be the second film in which Kareena (who earlier played a CSW in Chameli) portrays the role of a prostitute.

Nawazudding Siddiqui and Rajkumar Yadav also gets to play great roles in the movie which surely shows that it is packed with action and fun. The trailer of the film will be shown along with ‘Barfi!’ and ‘Heroine’ in theatres.

It will also be great to see Aamir back in uniform after a long period and fans are already excited. Aamir Khan is currently in Chicago shooting for his movie Dhoom 3 and this release seems to be the mastermind of the actor.

Rush In - 'Talaash' Bookings started!

We always praise the marketing strategy of Shah Rukh Khan as more aggressive and enthusiastic. But Bollywood has always been amazed by the intelligent tactics that Aamir Khan does for marketing his movies. Be it posting banners on rickshaws or trimming the head bald - he always comes up with the kind of marketing that is totally alien to Bollywood. And for Talaash he is making another great move, that is a 100 day advance booking for the movie!

The movie which is all set to release on November 30 is planning to create the hype by the current strategy, the fans may be delighted that they will be having a sure seat on the release dates and to see the mega star after a long time on big screen.

The Bollywood gurus are surprised by the move by Aamir and crew, “Never before has this happened for any Bollywood film but perhaps this is Aamir’s way of making an announcement quite loud and clear.” says an insider.

A number of Aamir fans are already queuing up at the booking windows of PVR multiplexes in order to book their seats for the first day first show of the film. The new trend of advance booking has ensured that announcement of Aamir's much-awaited film is loud and clear.

This also clears the confusion regarding the release dates and hopefully the movie will not get postponed further like in previous instances. This strategy will also be a gauge for the producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani to learn the curiosity of the crowd for the movie.

The move is common in Hollywood movies and this is for the first time a Bollywood movie will try this one. And it is said that YRF is awaiting how the strategy works out and will probably do the same for SRK-Katrina movie which should be coming up after Ek Tha Tiger releasing today

The promotions for the movie is yet to start, as Aamir is currently in Chicago shooting his movie Dhoom 3. He will be coming in soon by next month and start out the promotions and it might be a better and bigger one if sources are to be believed. Earlier there was talks that Aamir Khan and the director of the movie, Reema Katgi were not in terms for the final few shots of the movie and Aamir wanted those to be re-shot. But it seems that this was just another rumor as the sources now confirm that it was 'Satyamev Jayate' which was the main reason why Aamir did not want to start the movie promotions earlier.

Directed by Reema Kagti, the movie stars Rani Mukherjee along with Kareena Kapoor.

Talaash : Aamir Miffed! But confirms the release date

Following the recent set of controversies surrounding Aamir Khan's 'Talaash' the actor himself has came out to clarify his stance on this. It has been lot of back to back news coming up for the fight between the actor and the director and also the much controversial item number issue with legendary actor Rajnikanth. The team is said to be cool but not happy about the way the news is getting out.

“Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that there have been some attempts to spread rumours about my film. Clearly, someone is not very happy with the way it is progressing, and I can assure you that ‘someone’ is not from our team.” says a miffed Aamir Khan, when the media recently caught up with the actor on his view for the recent happenings.

The actor’s anger stems from recent reports hinting at an argument between him and director Reema Kagti over some scenes in their upcoming film. Apparently, Aamir wasn’t happy with certain portions in the second half of the film, and wanted them re-shot. Reema purportedly refused to make any alterations, as a result of which a miffed Aamir said he would not be available to promote the film (after he finishes shooting for Dhoom 3 in Chicago). It was even said that the film’s release (set for November 30) might be pushed to 2013. 

"Reema (director Reema Kagti), Farhan, Ritesh (producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani), and I are very happy with the way the film has turned out, and I would like to clarify that Talaash is releasing as planned onNovember 30,” lashes out Aamir. 

“When you have a good product, it would not be a wise decision to not market it well and release in a rush,” Aamir had earlier said explaining the decision of pushing the release from June to November.

As for his cop act in the thriller, Aamir reveals that it won’t be in the genre of actor Salman Khan’s Dabanng act at all. “It’s nothing like Chulbul Pandey,” he smiles. Aamir Khan plays the cop in movie and he is supported by Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor.

Farhan, Vidya - Shaadi Ke Side Effects

Farhan Akhtar and Vidya will now show the side effects of marriage! The new film which the duo has signed up is going to be yet another witty humor as its prequel was. The movie is said to be the sequel to 'Pyar Ke Side Effects', which had been a cult hit with performances of Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose, the movie was accepted widely when it got released in 2006. Now the characters Sid and Trisha will be played by Farhan and Vidya and will show another side of the love story. 

Producer Pritish Nandy told TOI, “SKSE is a funny, clever, wild film full of the fascinating ways love works before and after marriage.” Adding, “SKSE begins where PKSE ends. Except the lead pair, everyone including director Saket Choudhary and music director Pritam remain. The story had very strong connectivity with the audience, so we decided to make a sequel. Unfortunately, it took a while in writing. Saket is a brilliant director but a slow writer!”

Both Actors are equally excited about the roles and are eager to start working on their characters. 

Vidya loved the original and is very excited to take this story forward and to work with Farhan, “It begins where every romcom ends. Saket’s observation of relationships is simple and that makes it naturally and perhaps sometimes even unintentionally funny, mad and sexy. It’s the first time that Farhan and I will be working together. He’s so real that everything about our situation in SKSE would seem believable.”

About his character Farhan says, “SKSE is a departure from my earlier work as an actor. It’s a romantic comedy — a genre I haven’t done yet — so it promises to be a new experience. Saket has written a funny yet moving story about simple things that everyone can relate to. Also, I look forward to working with Vidya.”

Talking about the unusual casting of Vidya and Farhan, Nandy says, "We make cinema that is big and also intelligent. Farhan is one of the most intelligent actors today. He and Vidya are two of the biggest stars of 2011. It will instantly make my film topical. Both of them loved the script immediately."

Farhan Akhtar to co-host IIFA with Shahid

Buzz is that actor cum director Farhan Akhtar has been roped to play co-host with Shahid Kapoor at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony.

The IIFA Weekend will be hosted from June 7-9 this year, as a celebration of Indian Cinema showcasing the best of Indian Film Industry on the global stage. Farhan Akhtar will host the awards on 9th of June. The 13th IIFA awards function will be held at Singapore.

This year the performances which have already been announced include Sonakshi Sinha, Prabhudheva, Bipasha Basu and Shahid Kapoor. And actor-director-choreographer Prabhu Deva will also be choreographing the dance performances at IIFA for the first time ever.

The International Indian Film Academy Awards are presented annually by the International Indian Film Academy to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Bollywood, the Hindi language film industry. Instituted in 2000, the ceremony is held in different countries around the world every year. This award ceremony has been organised by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd – one of India’s premier event management and entertainment agencies - since its inception.

Farhan Joins Hands with Aamir

Farhan Akhtar who is busy after his tight schedule at 'Bhag Milkha Bhag' is finally cleaned up from the looks he had kept for the movie. Farhan was recently seen around the capital city when TOI caught up with him and he did spend few hours in chat with the correspondents. Farhan who had a successful run last year both in his acting field with ZNMD and his direction for Don 2 is ambitious about his future projects. 

"There is Reema Kagti's film, " Talaash", which is with Aamir, Kareena and Rani that we're producing. Now we're just finalizing projects that we want to do next year so between me and Ritesh (Sidhwani) at Excel, that's what we're doing- short listing directors and scripts that we'd like to work on."  Says Farhan.

Farhan is also concentrating on his future projects and he says that he covers up all his talents under one banner and that is movies. He is happy to have explored his talents through his movies. When asked about his talented personality he says "My focus lies in film in general so what I am producing, going to act in or direct- all my interests are covered under one blanket,".

Between, as the post-production of  'Talaash' continues, there was a strong rumor that the climax of the movie is being re-shot as the actor Aamir Khan wanted it to be different from what was already set. But this has finally fallen dead as Aamir Khan himself has went ahead to clarify this and he says “I have seen the film and it has turned out very well. I’m very happy with Reema’s work. It’s my next release after Dhobi Ghat. And since I couldn’t give the required time for the June release, I requested producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar to push it to November,”

So we might see the third side of Farhaan when the movie Talaash hits the screens and we hope it repeats the same story!

Farhan Akhtar to produce a game show

After successfully trying out hands on cinema for a decade, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar now trying their luck on television as well.

Ritesh Sidwani and Farhan Akhtar who were quite successful with the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, have been working with a team of writers for nearly six several weeks developing something different. They both feel that like the movies the two make, there is huge potential in the television space to create something new. 

A source said that, Farhan and Ritesh will do a huge activity show; something the whole household can get involved in. It’s going to be very great on Edutainment- yes schooling and interesting. And also an psychologically enhancing encounter. 

The source added that, "Our resource also contributes that because of the a good reputation these two discuss with the greatest brands in the market from Aamir, Shah Rukh to Hrithik; the overall activity display will have the who’s who from our market and some well-known athletes as well."

When Ritesh was asked about their television programme, he said that, "Yes Farhan and I both feel that content on TV has huge potential. Television content is constantly evolving and we are excited to be entering TV at this point with a show which we feel the entire family can sit together and watch."

Farhan Akhtar - The new flying sikh!

Farhan Akhtar is always in for the change, be it his role makeover from Rock On to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He has done every movie with utmost commitment and has experimented a different style. This time he has decided to do an overall makeover, and this is for his upcoming movie Bhag Milka Bhag. 

Farhan had been showered with praises from all over the world and he looks pretty much close to the original flying Sikh, Milkha Singh. Among the few elites to comment on his new looks was Arjun Rampal, who was stunned by the new looks of Farhan, "that pic of u as Milkha is just outstanding, wow, what a transformation, way to go or shall I say bhag Milkha bhag.Super proud” 

Farhan, did politely thank everyone who did take the time for supporting his efforts and added up "Hello all. Thank you so much for the positive vibes you're sending re the Milkha Singh look. It's adding more zip to our stride.” One of the most beautiful comments that the actor received was from the daughter of Milkha Singh, Sonia Singh, who couldn't hold her surprise after seeing the actor.

“Omg u actually look like dad. All the very best.” To which Farhan replied: “Your tweet made my day. Thank you so much” and she adds “my kids were like why are there two nanas. but really all credit goes to u. great work done.”

Farhan looks to have done a overall makeover, as he looks more athletic than he looked in ZNMD. He has toned down his muscles to match the athlete icon. The movie is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and will have Sonam Kapoor playing the lead lady. The director mentions that the movie is not related to sports but focuses on the human spirit and works on how the athlete mold himself to make it to the olympics and bite the gold there.

Don flies to Berlin!

Don 2 is finding new skies for its flight as it is soon to be showcased at the International film festival held at Berlin. 'Berlinale', is to be held on February 11th at the Friedrichstadt-Palast. Farhan Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra will find themselves in the royale seats of the event. 

To celebrate the movie's premiere at the 62nd 'Berlinale', the German Embassy New Delhi is organising an evening with Farhan Akhtar on Thursday, February 2nd. The event will be hosted by Mr. Cord Meier-Klodt, German Ambassador to India and will also show a short version of the movie there. 

The event is sponsored by Lapp India and will also see the candid moment of Farhan Akhtar during the shoots.  From 9th to 19th February 2012, Berlin will roll out the red carpet for more than 19,000 professional visitors from 115 countries. The public programme of the 'Berlinale' shows about 400 films per year, mostly international or European premieres. 

The festival presents every genre of movies and also provides opportunity to young film makers to exhibit their talents to a wide audience.

Don2 - A console game in the making!

Don2 - The Chase Begins has already been in the headlines for its unorthodox shooting and tough action, be it the jail sequence or the action sequences. The news now is that Farhan Akhtar is planning to launch a console game based on the movie. He says "I felt that this could be an interesting yet fun way to let people have their personal dose of action and adventure,"

Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani is already talking with Gameshastra the largest game service industry in the country on the project and plans to release it soon. The firm is developing a third-person action adventure console game where a players gets to play Shah Rukh and does actions similar to those done by Don in the movie.

There will also be a social game called "Don - The Social Mobsters Game", which will be launched on the Facebook and is being developed by Mango Games.

The game will be available on Android, iOS, and PSN for PS3 platforms. While the game on Android and iOS will be released along with the movie, the console version of the game will be released in March next year. "This is the first time a game is based on an Indian film that will be launched on four platforms. When I saw the creative of the game, I was very excited because the visuals were as real as the characters in the film. For an iconic character like Don, I think this was the best way to keep the hysteria going amongst his fans," said Ritesh Sidhwani, producer of " Don 2".

Shahrukh Shoots with real goons!

Don2 : The Chase Begins seems to be making great news already as the latest one is about SRK, who did the shoot of the movie with real inmates at Malaysia. As Don gets tougher in the new version, the director Farhan Akhtar and Shahrukh Khan decided to give it a original feel for the jail break sequence.

As seen in the movie trailers, the jail sequence involves fight with inmates and Don finally fleeing from the prison. The scene was shot at Malacca Prison in Malaysia. The new look for SRK in the jail sequence of Don 2  is much appreciated, its quite rough look as well. 

Explaining the sequence, a crew member said, "Don has an ace up his sleeves and has already masterminded a prison break."The actor shot with several local Malaysian artists for this sequence which was physically quite taxing.The film was shot in a real prison with real prisoners behind the jail and a complete section of the prison block was made available to Farhan Akhtar and his team for the shoot. In order to avoid any hitches, special crew t-shirts were made to differentiate crew members from the prisoners as it was a high security zone. None of the crew members were allowed to carry their mobile phones and laptops inside.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and director Farhan Akhtar who is also the director of the flick, DON 2 is slated to break into screens on the 21st December 2011.

Preity Zinta Show soon!

After her try on the T20's and the team management, Preity Zinta is now planning to launch her talkshow on the soon to-be-aired channer UTV Stars, the show will be similar talk show as we have seen for Farah or Simi Garewal, with the change that this will be our bubbly chubby heroine Preity Zinta going one on one with her favorites and co-stars. This will be one true experience which you will not want to miss.

The first part of the episode is already shot and this was blessed by none other than Akshay Kumar who is a best friend to Preity Zinta, the highlight of the show is the fact that Preity Zinta went on asking few personal questions to the actor, but he surely was a good game for it and had replied back in equal spirits. Please Shave - Gauri Khan!

Gauri Khan Asks King to shave!

Don 2 is everything about rough looks and manly acts and action. The long hair look and the stubble adds to the rough effect of the movie and as everyone agrees, Shahrukh looks great in that. But there are people who hate him to give such a look and his wife Gauri Khan is the number one in the list, who was shocked to see Shahrukh coming back in such a shape.

She has openly admitted that she did not like a bit of this look in Don 2.

The wife of King Khan was surprised to see her husband in such bad shape, that she immediately asked Shahrukh to shave the stubble and cut his hair, she even asked him to do the rest of the movie with a wig on. The shoot of Don 2 happened in Malaysia and since the shoot, Shahrukh Khan has been carrying his long hair and unshaven looks through the sequence.

But the King decided otherwise, he opted to stay in the character until the shoot was complete. According to the co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani, Shahrukh had the option to let go his look but he decided to continue with the character. Director Farhan Akhtar mentions that Shahrukh was convinced with the looks and he wanted to complete the movie with the present look. Rumors continue as it is said that Shah Rukh's son Aryan, had asked if a Don should look like him and the King continued that look to give it the complete feel!

Well its a known fact as to how Shahrukh Khan dedicates himself for a movie and he does it in the style he is known for! Way to Go!

Another Sequel? ZNMD way?

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Sequel?

The director is in two minds ofcourse, when Zoya was put to the questionnaire she said she may or may not commit to a sequel to the movie but she doesn't know about it at the moment. But Hrithik Roshan seems to be quite confident on the factor, he said that since ZNMD portrayed only Abhay Deol married person, there is a full possibility of a sequel as Hrithik's and Farhan Akhtar's character is still unmarried. 

The question was put over to Zoya Akhtar, so dont be surprised if you get bumped by a sequel to the movie. We hope this turns to be a better movie than the previous. Although there has been good gain over the multiplexes first few days, the movie hasn't really done that great! The roadtrip had mixed reactions, the scenes did miss the beauty as one of the fan says.

So we will wait eagerly for the next press meet!

Zindangi Na Milegi Dobara team Turns Up for Mumbai

The movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was released in midst of the catastrophes of Bomb Blast and still the producers feel that the Mumbaikars came back to the theaters and made it a success. This was time to repay them for their sufferings, speaking to the media Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani along with director Zoya Akhtar decided this.

They have mentioned that they will be paying out a part of the movie collections from multiplexes to the victims of Mumbai blasts on 13th July 2011. The participating multiplexes will be PVR Cinemas, Mulund - Juhu Fun Cinemas, Chembur, Andheri, Kandivali, Kalyan and Vashi - Cinemas, Sion and Inox, Nariman Point.

The makers of the movie has credited this idea to Kishore Lulla, of Eros International. The producer mentions that the blasts had made them loose the joy part about the movie and the thought came into Farhan Kishore Lulla and producer himself to share the revenue. The movie was released on friday two days after the blast.

The movie had collected 59 crore after the 28.60 crore gain through weekends and 31 crore through satellite and music rights. The reported cost of the movie is 55 crore and has just gained an even amount in terms of revenue. The movie starred Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechilin.

Shiv Sena Slam!

Another slam from Shiv Sena

Actor Shah rukh Khan has already been in controversy with the Shiv Sena people for his earlier demand to include IPL players from Pakistan to be played. This was later changed and the current issue is his party celebrations during the birthday of Katrina Kaif. The party was organized at his residence and the invitees include Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Chunkey Pandey and Abhay Deol along with Katrina Kaif. The party also did have a private screening of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara ( poor guys!! )

Shiv Sena questions on the morale of Shah Rukh in organizing the party when the bomb blasts happened 3 days earlier. There had been many cancellations to the events. We consider this as a publicity gimmick as we found that there were already life getting back to normal in Mumbai immediately after the blast.

Recently Shiv Sena is being targetting RGV (Ram Gopal Verma) for his comments on Mariah Susairaj which got settled with is complaint to police. ShahRukh is yet to respond to this event.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Falls!

Just another average movie!!

After the much hyped start of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, there is a sad review to the movie in the end. We had found rush through the first few shows yesterday but unfortunately the movie seems to have doomed to another average movie.

The movie reviewers have gone ahead and commented that the movie is too long for their liking plus it doesn't have the essence. The movie is also commented as 'wait to watch on tv' kinda movie. The big names in bollywood like Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif also doesn't bring the crowd back. There has been complaints that Kats was given lesser screen space than what was expected. The performance of Hrithik is quite under par and reviewers fairly mention that this journey did not utilize Hrithik to the full extend!

The much hyped Hrithik-Katrina kiss scene was also tad boring and was not really a worth seeing scene. The movie has finally ended up in a slow pace. This is the second venture by director Zoya Akhtar and we feel bad that it had such a bad ending. There has been reviews mentioning that beauty of Spain has not really been captured on the canvas and lacks the genuine atmosphere there.

It has just been a day, we hope the reviews doesn't affect the movie much and ends up in a better rating by the end of this week.

I had approached Salman 2 times - Farhan Akhtar

Salman Khan wont work with Farhan?

Recent promos of Don 2 has created yet another controversy for Salman Khan. Media had noted that Farhan Akhtar had directed couple of movies with the King Khan, Shahrukh Khan, but has never done one with Salman Khan. When asked by the media as to why the difference was, Farhan mentioned that he had approached Salman Khan two times with a project which got rejected.

Farhan also went ahead and mentioned that there are no personal issues with the rejections, it seems that the stories did not suit Salman Khan the way he expected. The other story that runs along is the rivalry between the parents of both actors. Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan used to be good friends at one age and later had their differences in profession. The reports mention that there was an issue with respect to the fame that Javed Akhtar received for the scripts which did have Salim Khans ink.

 

Anyways, Farhan has already put an end to such allegations and mentioned that this is thoroughly profession decision on Salman's part and did not wish to comment further.

We will never know the truth as long as it is shut!
