Ram Charan upset

It is said that Telugu actor Ram Charan is quite upset after he got to know that Priyanka Chopra, his co-star in the movie Zanjeer will be getting paid more than him.

Just a few days back it was said that Priyanka Chopra would be paid a whopping 9 crore for playing the lead role in Zanjeer. The talk in media circles is that, "Priyanka is being paid 'on par' or 'more than' Charan"


Ram Charan is an Indian film actor from Telugu Cinema born to Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, he made his debut as lead actor with the film Chirutha in 2007. He will be making his Bollywood debut through Zanjeer.


It is rumoured that Ram Charan's people are peeved and want to make it clear that Charan flies high with a 12 crore pay and Priyanka lags behind with a 5.5 crore price tag.

A source said that, "It is ridiculous to even suggest that PC will get a price higher than that of Charan's. Charan is getting 10 crore in Andhra Pradesh and has been signed on for 12 crore now for his Bollywood debut.

Whoever is responsible for these stories should do some serious re-thinking."

Priyanka is not even given half of what Ram Charan is being paid. Her pay pack is just Rs 5.5 crore and another Rs 50 lakhs was allotted to her for travelling expenses, five star hotel accomodation and food.

Whereas the makers had already paid a whopping Rs 10 crore to the telugu megastar Ram Charan and now the actor would get an additional Rs 2 crore after wrapping up the entire shoot. Overall, Charan's pay pack is Rs 12 crore (excluding other expenses).

Emraan Hashmi wants 10 crores

Right from Once upon a time in Mumbai to The Dirty Picture Emraan Hashmi has been giving continous super hits one after the other. And because of this Emraan Hashmi seems to have increased his charges. It  is said that the serial kisser Emraan has quoted a whooping sum of Rupees 10 crore for all his new projects. Yes Emraan Hashmi wants 10 crore to act in one movie and he even said that its not a crazy price and will not burden any of his movies.

A-listers like Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn charge somewhere around Rupees 20 crore per movie where as actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are said to charge around Rupeess 10 crore. The three Khans - Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir, take a share in the profits and even charge about Rs 27-28 crore a single film. And now even Emraan Hashmi has joined the 10 crore club.

Emraan said, "I have increased my rate but I cannot tell you the exact figure. It is a safe price, it is not a crazy price. I have worked in the office of a producer, so I know what happens when they (actors) overprice. So I know what that price should be and it keeps me in the industry for a long haul."

He added,  "I think as an actor I feel my rate should not burden the film. There are few actors, who charge more and then eventually it burdens the film, but I will never do that."

When asked about his role in the movie Shanghai he said, "Dibakar has the ability to bring out the actor of his comfort zone. And he made me eat lot of stuff, so that I become fat, have a paunch. Getting the physicality of the character was half the battle won. The character that I play is from Jodhpur. He is shady, repulsive in a certain sense, he is a mobile coordinator, small town journalist, he shoots porn films at night. This is definitely going to be one of the landmark film and characters of my career." He added, "You will not miss the kiss, I can do two things with my lips... either I can chew pan or kiss. I have done something new in this film. I feel I have graduated from a serial kisser to a porn filmmaker in a way. I don't know what is next."

The actor has three releases this year- Jannat a crime thriller by Mahesh Bhatt which will release on 4th May, Shanghai a political thriller by Dibakar Banerjee to be released on 8th June and Raaz 3 a 3D horror movie by Vikram Bhatt which will release on 31st August.
