The much awaited Hollywood action movie will Pompeii will release this Friday, the 21st of February 2014. Pompeii is labelled as disaster-adventure film and is produced and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. Pompeii is action packed and if the rumors are to be believed the actors had to undergo as rigorous training as in Gladiator(film).

Pompeii stars  Kit Harington, Emily Browning, Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Lucas, with Jared Harris, and Kiefer Sutherland in lead roles.

Pompeii tells the story of a slave-turned-gladiator finds himself in a race against time to save his true love, who has been betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts, he must fight to save his beloved as Pompeii crumbles around him.

PLOT:

Set in 79 A.D., POMPEII tells the epic story of Milo (Kit Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.

Apple Completes The Acquisition Of 3D-Sensor Company, PrimeSense

Apple acquires the famous PrimeSense startup from Israel for $360 Million! Primesense is a company which is mainly focused on 3-D sensor technology. Most of the Xbox fans will be aware of this technology which is used in Xbox 3D Kinect games.

Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet confirmed the PrimeSense deal with the boilerplate comment the company typically provides when news of one of its acquisitions leaks: “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”

The exit marks the end of months of deliberation between the two companies, finally bringing the semiconductor company responsible for advances in motion and depth capture under Apple’s aegis.

The talks were first reported by Israeli news outlet Calcalist back in July, and news of the acquisition was reported earlier on Sunday by Globes.

Microsoft’s Kinect gaming product, which uses cameras and depth sensors to capture players’ motions and incorporate them into Xbox gameplay. (Microsoft now deploys its own homegrown sensor technology for the current generation of Kinect devices, which ship with the recently launched Xbox One.)

This is not the first Israeli-based acquisition Apple has made. The Cupertino, Calif.-based hardware giant purchased Anobit — a supplier of high-performance flash memory controllers — earlier this year for a reported sum of $500 million.

Janmashtami special: A new mobile game to be launched for ‘Krishna Aur Kans’

Bollywood doesn’t really have many films in its kitty when it comes to animated flicks. But after the famous movies like Bal ganesh and Hanuman, Krishna and Kans is one entertainer to watch out for!

We are well versed with the story, the plot is old and even the characters are well known. Yet no one is complaining as this old mythological story turned 3D animated movie exhibits freshness! According to the review, the baccha party loved the movie and their mummies & daddies are saying paisa vasool!

But what the good news for all the kiddos is that a new mobile game inspired from the movie is going to be launched on the eve of Janmashtami on Friday. The game will allow the player to be lord Krishna and help villagers reach out to their children, kidnapped by demons.

‘Krishna Aur Kans’ got released in over three hundred and fifty screens across the world last week in stereoscopic 3D and digital 2D, marking a milestone in the Indian animated industry with the highest number of prints distributed for any Indian animated feature film.

Directed by Vikram Veturi and produced by Reliance Animation, the film has an impressive cast consisting of Juhi Chawla, Prachi Save, Manoj Bajpayee, Om Puri, Anupam Kher, A.K. Hangal, Mukesh Khanna, Sachin and Supriya Pilgaokar who lent their voices for the film.

With over 1200 artists contributed towards the production of the film, the film's production has taken a colossal five and a half years. The success of the film goes to its makers who have showcased the tale we all have been listening to since years in an amazing way!

Because of its roaring success it’s been declared tax-free in six states – Punjab, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Kerala, Chattisgarh.

The launch of the game was deliberately planned around Janmashtami.

"We wanted to participate in the celebration of Janmashtami by creating a game based on Krishna, and this movie gives us a perfect platform to engage with the casual gamers across markets,"said Chaitanya Prabhu, business head, Jump Games India

The Krishna Aur Kans game will be available on all leading mobile platforms like Android, Blackberry and Symbian, across all leading mobile operators.

Jism 3: will start soon and will be in 3D

Even before the release of Jism 2 into big screens it seems that the Bhatt's are already planning the sequel and this time they are not stopping at just erotica, it will be erotica in 3D! Now that is genuinely novel concept for the idea you carry out Pooja!

"I had my script ready a long time back. I want to get it out of my system. I will make Jism 3 in 3D. It will be interesting to make an erotic film in 3D," Pooja told IANS.

"In fact we had plans to make Jism 2 in 3D. But later we felt it would look very ahead of times," she added.

Though Pooja refuses to divulge any details on the cast of Jism 3, she says it will be bigger and better.

"I don't want to talk about the cast now. We have increased our take with Jism 2. So Jism 3 should be bigger and better. It will be a step ahead in every way," she said, adding it will go on floors next year.

While she still plans and edits the current movie Jism 2, the actor-turned-director is already having bigger plans and we know that she would deliver it to the unpredictable level of execution.

The movie Jism 2 (latest promo here)will be releasing on August 3, and will star Randeep Hooda, Sunny Leone and Arunodhay Singh. Sunny Leone plays a pornstar, Izna who is assigned by Arunodhay Singh, a cop to bring down the notorious assasin played by Randeep Hooda. 

Sounds a fun plot, more will be coming in next week!

Sorry no 3D for Joker!

Shirish Kunder's Akshay Kumar starrer was supposed to be the first Indian 3D movie with a superstar, but it seems that the production house had a change of mind. The latest news is that the movie won't be going on air with 3D format, as the marketting crew found no great differences between a 3D and 2D flick, also the lack of enough 3D screens has been sighted as the cause for this decision. 

Shirish Kunder confirmed the news and added, "The initial plan was for Joker to be the first 3D film with a big star. But that USP doesn't hold anymore. Taking into account the recent responses to 2D versus 3D ventures, we decided to reach out to a wider audience." Siddharth Roy Kapoor, MD, Studios-Disney UTV, said, "For a movie featuring a superstar (read: Akshay), the draw is more the star power and the content. We have seen this in case of many films over the past year that have clicked at the BO more for the film itself rather than the incremental business from 3D screens. Given this experience, we took a collective decision with Akshay, Shirish and his wife Farah Khan to complete Joker in the regular 2D format only."

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Minissha Lamba and produced by Studios-Disney UTV.

It is also said that there has been another twist of tale. After his first movie 'Jaan-E-Mann', Shirish had signed up with Eros entertainment for a movie, but for his bad fate, the script took four years to complete and it is said that the movie was named Joker, and now the news is that Shirish has returned the signing amount as he has committed the movie with UTV.

The plot says that Akshay plays a character who returns to his hometown - a place that's so remote that it's not even on the map. But sequence of events puts the little town not just on the country's map, but makes it the focus of the entire globe.

The story also involves aliens.

Sholay In 3D

The 3D version of the film Sholay will be released on 15th August, 2012.

Shaan Uttam Singh, GP Sippy's grandson and one of copyright owners of movie said, "We are coming up with the 3D version of "Sholay". The project is almost complete and will release on August 15. The movie is a classic and people will love to watch it with the technological augmentation." 

The movie Sholay which was released on 15th August 1975 is an Indian action-adventure film produced by G.P. Sippy and directed by his son Ramesh Sippy. It is considered by the Encyclopaedia of Hindi cinema to be among the greatest films in Indian cinema. It stars Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri and Amjad Khan. It is the story of two criminals hired to capture a ruthless dacoit by the name of Gabbar Singh. 

In the year 2011, Subhash Ghai was reportedly in negotiations to convert the film to 3D format. Subhash Ghai’s banner Mukta Arts collaborated with Maya Digital and undertook the project.

A few months back, there were reports that Mukta Arts which had been working with Maya Digital on turning this project into a reality, had washed its hands off the project because of the legal hassles that the GP Sippy's family had been currently involved in. 

Jayanti Lal Gada, Chief Managing Director at Pen India Private Ltd said , "We are planning to release the movie on Aug 15 because it was released on the same day in 1975. The idea of the 3D version came from copyright owners of the movie. I believe, it is the best movie to augment with special effects. After 20 years of its release when the movie was first screened on DD national, it registered a TRP of 65. That is the highest TRP of any movie showcased on Indian television. We hope, people will like its 3D form as well."

Saif Ali Khan plans 3D Agent Vinod sequel

Actor cum producer Saif Ali Khan says that he might plan a sequel of Agent Vinod and that too in 3D. The original film stars the actor and his real-life girlfriend Kareena Kapoor as a spy and a Pakistani girl.

Agent Vinod, the Suspense/Thriller film is directed by Sriram Raghavan. The movie borrows it's name from the 1977 film of the same name and is produced by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan. Apart from Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in leading roles, the movie also features Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor, Anshuman Singh, Shahbaz Khan, Gulshan Grover and Maryam Zakaria in supporting roles.

The Bollywood star revealed that he had thought of doing Agent Vinod in 3D, but he dropped that idea because he wanted to see if it gets huge response and later he would consider it for next part.

Saif Ali Khan said, "I don't understand 3D and don't enjoy it, but my son does. So, maybe for the larger portion of audiences, one should consider it for sequel." He added, "I didn't consider going for it this time. There was some talk earlier though. If it becomes a big action movie, then it is a good idea to shoot it in 3D."

When asked about Vinod's character in the sequel he said, "It will be the same Vinod with another cast for the sequels if at all it comes. It is too early to discuss right now."

Aamir not prepared for Dhoom 3

The 47-year-old actor Aamir Khan, who is playing a baddie in Dhoom 3 says, "I have started preparations for Dhoom 3. For my role I have began working on the physical side" he added, "But I am not mentally yet prepared." 

Mr. Perfectionist is currently busy shooting for his debut television reality show Satyamev Jayate for a few months, he even postponed the release date of his upcoming movie Talaash  because the he is not in favour of overlapping his projects.

Dhoom series centres around bike chases, handsome thieves and daring theft plans. On 2 February 2011, Yash Raj Films confirmed that the third installment of the series would go on floors at the end of 2011 and planned for a Christmas 2012 release, though now it is releasing early 2013 due to extensive post production. The film will feature Aamir Khan playing a negative character while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles of Jai and Uday. Rani Mukherjee will star in a pivotal role. Katrina Kaif will also be a part of the film. Dhoom 3 will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The story will take place ten years after the events of Dhoom and eight after the events of Dhoom 2.

Aditya Chopra wanted to make the film in 3d format, feeling that the success of Haunted 3D showed that Indian audiences have opened up to 3D cinema viewing . But actor Aamir Khan is not convinced as he thinks "making a 3D film needs more expertise."

The first two instalments have created lot of curiosity about the third part. Dhoom 3 is set to hit the theatres in 2013.

Sholay wont go 3D

The famous movie Sholay was all set to be remade in 3D and it was reported that Ketan Mehta's Maya Digital, was given the project by Mukhta Arts for making this project reality. But the latest news is that the team has dropped the project due to the family fights in Sippy family.

This is the second project from the Sippys that has run into rough weather owing to the problems in their family. Earlier, producer GP Sippy's son Suresh raised an objection against GP Sippy's grandsons Sascha and Shaan, claiming that they had no right to license the remake rights of Seeta Aur Geeta to Sunil Bohra (Mumbai Mirror, February 7, 2011).

Suresh has raised an objection this time around as well. While Sascha Sippy remained unavailable for comment, Suresh Sippy told Mumbai Mirror, "How can Ghai convert Sholay into 3D when we Sippys are in a legal conflict? My lawyer spoke to Ghai and told him about the same. And well, I don't know anything about Maya Digital's plans. Negative kahan hai unke paas? Yes, Sascha has the rights of Sholay but I also sent a message across to Sascha not to entertain any such proposals."

But it is reported from close sources of Ramesh Sippy, who had originally produced the movie, that he is keen on the project and has no problems with rights. But the project seems to be already dropped, when Subhash Ghai, the head honcho of Mukhta Arts, was asked about the project he replied "I am not associated with Sholay getting converted into 3D. I am just a stakeholder in Maya Digital. As far as I am concerned, the matter ended some six months ago."

However, Maya Digital's head, Ketan Mehta refused to comment on it and his wife mentioned that they did have another 10 projects working at the moment and she cannot comment on it as there is a Non-Disclosure agreement with the clients.
