Akshay Kumar: the highest tax payer in B-town

Among all the Bollywood stars, actor Akshay Kumar is the highest tax payer of this year. Since three years he has remained the highest tax paying celeb in B-town. Akshay Kumar paid a whooping Rupees 20 crores this year. Even after giving continuous flops at the box office, he has left the Khans and others behind.

•   Aamir Khan paid Rs. 6.5 crore which is 5 crore less than what he paid last year.
•   Shahrukh Khan came down to Rs. 10 crore from Rs 18 crore he paid last year.
•   Salman Khan just like last year paid Rs.10 crore as tax.
•   Saif Ali Khan paid 2 crore more than last year, Rs. 4.5 crore.
•   Beti B's grand PAA, Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs 3 crore as tax.
•   Aishwarya Rai Bachchan paid Rs 2.5 crore.
•   Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor, even though he wasn't seen much on the screen this year still paid       Rs 5 crore.
•   Kareena Kapoor paid Rs 4 crore.
•   The singham star Ajay Devgn paid Rs 2 crore.
•   Shahid Kapoor paid Rupees 3 crore.
•   Actress Priyanka Chopra who is seen in many ads paid Rs 1.5 crore.

Mammooty and Mohanlal face Raids!

The Income Tax Department Impact!

Mammooty and Mohanlal, two pronounced and super hit actors in Malayalam movie industry recently face trouble with their Tax filing. The stars who have been gaining over 1.5 crore per movie was found to be paying only a nominal tax of 2 crore, in a country where the bollywood or Hindi Film Industry contributes the most to the taxes, the stars had been an exception. They were filing taxes in Chennai and due to the same reason they were never under the scanner until recently.

The Income Tax department on Friday conducted raids at the homes and offices of Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty.

The raids were conducted at their homes and offices in Kochi, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai.

The raids to the date has not revealed any active income, but there are few accessories that were seized during the raids and the tax might be yielded from the captivated materials. Sources have said that the stars had no prior information of the raids. It remains to be seen as to what comes out of the raids after the Income Tax department will talk to the two superstars.

The raids were conducted after suspicion that the actors have accessed disproportionate sources of income, sources said.
