Rahman on Oprah Winfrey's show

When talk show queen Oprah Winfrey came to India early this year (in the month of January), the Bachchans were all over the news when Oprah visited Aaradhya. There were even rumours that talk show host Oprah Winfrey would be the one who would introduce Beti B, Aaradhya Bachchan to the whole world on her new talk show.

Well apart from the Bachchan's she even visited the music mastero A. R. Rehman also known as the Mozart of Madras and the secret was disclosed when the episode featuring the Oscar-Grammy winner Rahman was aired in the US recently and showed Rahman welcoming Oprah to India.

Oprah who was here to shoot for her new series on India apparently shot for a couple of episodes and travelled a bit. There were speculation about which Indian celebrity would feature on her show. During the 2009 show Oprah and Rahman had discussed a possible visit to India and the composer had apparently agreed to take her on a city tour.

The queen of talk shows finally showcases her new show titled Oprah Travels to India. The show has a two-part special episode based on Oprah’s trip to India in January this year. The first part showcased Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai along with AR Rahman. The second part will feature Rahman extensively.

Rahman was also seen talking to her about his foundation, the KM Music Conservatory which teaches music to aspiring youngsters. The choir from the KM Music Conservatory had also performed for Oprah when she was in India.

Talaash or Dhoom 3 : The confusion cloud high!

Talaash, one of the much anticipated movies of 2012 is being floating on the dates indefinitely. The movie which was set to hit the screens by June was earlier delayed due to commitments by Aamir Khan with the UTV stars project, Satyamev Jayate, but now the dates of Talaash are conflicting with Dhoom 3 shoots and is making the movie extend its release date indefinitely. It seems that Mr. Perfectionist currently has only one goal in mind and that is to have his TV debut show a super hit before he takes the next commitment, we will just have to wait and see the show to find out why it is so special!

The recent news about Talaash is that, as opposed to the previous reports, movie might hit the screens on November. This is the time when Satyamev Jayate will have completed its season of air on TV. There is also news that a fire breakout at the sets of Satyamev Jayate has delayed its schedule further! 

Aamir Khan, who is also doing the Yash Raj's Dhoom 3 is also getting choked with the date clash. It was said that Aamir will start shooting for Dhoom 3 by mid of April but recent mishap at the sets of Satyamev Jayate has forced the actor to ask Aditya Chopra to allow his dates to be postponed by a month. 

So in November when the superstar is through with the TV show, he might be back on the sets of Dhoom 3 and also promoting his venture Talaash. The rumor has it that the TV Show will add more strength to the movie and will make it more current an issue to be addressed. Satyamev Jayate is still behind closed doors with no outsider knowing the details of the format or what the show deals with.

However hard it goes, it seems that some rivalries will never end. The case with Aamir and Shahrukh is similar, as the two has always had their differences and a few times it did come out. As for SRK, he has been wise enough to evade any such controversial statements and have avoided comments about Aamir, it seems that Aamir is taking a new route to the ignore game. 

Recently on the audio launch of Satyamev Jayate, he openly ignored SRK's superhit shows like KBC and Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Ho . He says "I loved Amitabhji's Kaun Banega Crorepati, Hrithik's dance show. I haven't seen Bigg Boss but Salman's Dus Ka Dum. I enjoyed watching these shows." The media then began questioning Aamir asking him to comment on Shahrukh's shows and he refused to comment.

A similar incident happened when Aamir was reminded of recent detention of SRK at NY, Aamir said  "I have never faced such problem."

It seems that as the differences between SRK and Aamir continues there seems to be new bonds happening between Salman and Aamir. We are waiting when the Khan's would clash again!

Veena won't have a swayamvar

Pakistani actress and model Veena Malik who dreamt of conducting her swayawar on Indian television will not be able to do so as NDTV Imagine TV has finally announced its closure.

According to the official statement of the channel ‘Imagine TV’ which was released earlier today, the channel ‘Imagine TV’ has shut down its operations in India from Thursday, 12th April 2012.

With the news of the channel shutting down there have been a lot of talks about Veena Mailk's swayamwar, the program for which all the preparations were already done.

Imagine TV was launched as NDTV Imagine in January 2008. According to sources, the channel was garnering less TRP’s. Turner Broadcasting System (U.S based media giant firm) Asia Pacific, a division of Time Warner’s Turner International, issued the statement to the media and relevant authorities about shutting down their Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) ‘Imagine TV’ in India.

Siddharth Jain, the M.D. South Asia Turner International, said "The channel could not perform as per the expectations though a few of the shows got marvelous ratings but the overall business from the channel was below satisfactorily levels. Thus the company decided to close down the operations of the channel in India." He added that, "It was not a haste decision rather a very carefully decided decision. NTDV Network, the company which owned the majority stake of the channel Imagine TV initially, sold its part to the U.S based Turner International in year 2010."

Presently Turner International owns and runs a number of well-watched and popular TV channels such as CNN, HBO, Cartoon Network, TCM, WB and Boomerang in India.

So now Veena Malik's dream of becoming a bride on NDTV Imagine has come to an end.

Aamir's show puts a toll of 6.25 cr. on Star!

Aamir Khan is due to make the grand debut on to the small screens by next month, but it seems that the promos itself has been going grand. The channel is said to have spent close to 6.5 crore worth of airtime just to air the promos which were around 30-35 secs in duration. The latest math was done by an insider at the channel calculating the ad revenue that was compromised on the promos. 

"The channel, on which his show Satyamev Jayate will be aired, had apparently blocked all the 2,000 slots for the broadcaster's promos in 27 hours -- totally valued at Rs 6.25 crore. " says the insider. The event was a one-day special but it did cross the marks which was set by any other celebrity hosted show on the channel. 

Also there was a great amount of secrecy as it is with the idea of the show 'Satyameva Jayate', the promos was shot at different times and was also grabbed from the making of the show, which made it really impossible for the production crew to know what was coming on promos. The idea is said to be from Aamir himself as he insisted on the promos to be different from what people have already seen.

"To maintain secrecy, Aamir insisted that none of the promos would be shot separately. Instead, the footage would be taken from the making of the show itself," informed the source, adding that the idea of blocking the promo slots came from the channel's end. According to our source, 2,000 promo slots from Monday to Tuesday, across all the broadcasters' channels, were booked for Aamir's show. The source said, "From these slots, if one were to translate the airtime into revenue, it's worth Rs 6.25 crore," adding that this is the highest ever for any star show.

This is when the shows for Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan had only the airtime of 2.5 crore, so this is already getting grand than any other show. The show is also said to be much of importance to the perfectionist, as he has already stopped his bollywood commitments due to this show and his upcoming movie was further delayed to his favorite month 'December' citing the reasons for shoot of this show.

Salman, Fall in Love - Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan who had celebrated his 47th birthday yesterday had just one birthday wish that he will have loved to happen. It is not for him, not also for his family, but for his friend Salman Khan. He sincerely wished that his best friend does find love and get married!! The tales of friendship between the two Khans are already famous and this does add in a feather to the hat. 

Aamir Khan was talking to the media post his small birthday celebrations at the UTV studios. Aamir Khan did not have a big bash at the birthday party, as he was shooting for his next TV show which is going to be on air by June 2012. The show is yet untitled but the production house does have a rumor that the name will be 'Satymeva Jayathe' and he says "I am shooting for the TV show today. Unfortunately, I won't be able to celebrate it with the family. Usually, I make sure I am with my family today. But I am very much excited about the show." He added, "The team of Star TV and all of us are trying to do something different. We are working on the show since two years. This is an ambitious project.”

The TV show will be the debut of Aamir on to the small screens and he is equally excited about this "The show would go on air soon, say in two months or so. It would be spread across 13 weeks. We have traveled across the country for the show by various modes of transport, including train.” 

He also did not forget to thank god for all his successes "Birthday comes every year, I feel everyday must be of the same importance. I thank god for the success, love and respect. On a personal front, I am happy for the new member in our family, our son, Azad. I will try to spend more and more time with my family. I also thank my loved ones for showing their support and love.”

Aamir Khan, Talaash and TV Show - deadlock?

The Aamir Khan starrer Talaash is said to be a much awaited movie, the anticipation for the movie among the stars are high and the recent promos of the movie has only  helped to increase the anxiety among the fans. But the latest news is not so common when it comes to Aamir Khan! It is said that the movie release is getting postponed due to a TVshow that Aamir Khan is part of. The show which is being done for UTV Stars has been grabbing most of the actors schedule for promotions.

Talaash was said to be released on first week of June, but the current schedule has broken the hopes and now the movie will be released either in November last week or December first week. The co producer Ritesh Sidhwaani says "We have postponed the release of `Talaash`. It will release either in November-end or the first week of December". 

The movie predictions are that the release will be mostly around December, which has proven to be extremely lucky for Aamir Khan. Who had three super duper hits since 2007 when he released his movies on December. Starting with Taare Zameein par, Ghajini and 3 idiots. 

The movie Talaash is his next after the much praised movie '3 Idiots' and will have great expectations. "Aamir`s TV show (for Star Plus) is going to be on air till June. That is eating into the promotion of `Talaash`. And since it`s Aamir`s next big film after `3 Idiots`, he needs to be around for its promotion." adds in Sidhwani. 

Directed by Reema Kagti, ‘Talaash’ also features Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor. It is co-produced by Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment, as well as Aamir Khan Productions.
