There were confirmed news, semi confirmed one's but finally the director and the crew has come forward to explain the situation. The upcoming Raju Hirani movie 'Peekay' was said to be having Imran Khan, along with his uncle Aamir Khan and it was said to be Mama- Bhanja duo, but it seems that these were just rumors.

Raju Hirani who is teaming back with Aamir Khan after 3 idiots says that the final cast is not yet finalized and they haven't approached Imran Khan for that matter. The movie will star Aamir Khan opposite Anushka Sharma and that is the only cast that has been finalized.

"We haven't approached Iman. He is busy with his film 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbai 2' and there is no discussion at all," a spokesperson said. It was also being speculated that when Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh didn t show much interest in the role, Aamir had suggested Imran's name.

This puts end to the rumors which were fuming up pretty fast and increasing the anxiety of the plot. Aamir Khan will be moving into the crew by mid of next year as he is currently completing his Yash Raj Project - Dhoom 3. As for Imran Khan, he is doing Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Matru Ki Bijili Ka Mandola’ and Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2’.

Peekay also will be the first movie produced by Raju Hirani, unlike his previous associations with Vidhu Vinod Chopra - for movies like Munna Bhai MBBS, 3 idiots etc. Although Vidhu will be the presenter for the movie and will also be involved in the production house.

Aamir Khan's Son to make debut - off screen

The 17 year old son of Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan will make his debut to the film industry as a directorial assistant to Rajkumar Hirani. This will be for the upcoming movie of Aamir Khan - Peekay - which is marked as the next big project from the duo after '3 Idiots' in 2009. And addition of Junaid into the squad will be an added attraction.

Junaid Khan who is Aamir's son from his first wife Reena Dutta is said to be a usual visitor at the sets and is known to have the knowledge of most of the technical aspects of film making which made him receive this offer from Rajkumar Hirani.

According to tabloid reports, it was Rajkumar Hirani who offered Junaid the project and the youngster later convinced his father that he would not neglect his studies.

A source close to the Khan family told (TOI), "Junaid has always been fascinated by the various aspects of filmmaking. He used to often accompany his father to the sets of his films. He always had a viewpoint. And Aamir was rather impressed with it."

Source also adds that Aamir wasn't happy with this, and wanted him to complete his studies, but it seems that Junaid has convinced Aamir Khan on this. The movie 'Peekay' will have Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.

TOI also reports that Junior Khan has already begun work on the project and a source close to the film revealed that Junaid has been traveling across the country scouting for suitable locations for the shoot. The film is scheduled to go on floors later this year.

A source close to the Khan family told us, "Junaid has always been fascinated by the various aspects of filmmaking. He used to often accompany his father to the sets of his films. He always had a viewpoint. And Aamir was rather impressed with it."

We hope the two perfectionists does bring out a fruitful career start. It is also said Junaid is also very much perfection oriented and this aspect has impressed the filmmakers. Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who had always been close to Aamir and Hirani and is a presenter for Peekay, had also been impressed by Junaid's eye for detail. Apparently, Jr Khan's knowledge of camera angles and ear for music had awed Chopra.

"What better way to begin his film career than assisting a director who has had a string of successful films - the Munna Bhai series and 3 Idiots," added the source.

The directors are still shy on sharing the details of the movie, but it is said that Aamir Khan will play the role of a drunkard. Peekay is a political satire that aims at making a scathing comment on corruption.
Aamir will reportedly play an alcoholic social crusader who remains perennially sloshed.
For a while, news did the rounds suggesting that Hirani wanted to call his film Talli. However, the filmmaker and his lead star Aamir finally settled on Peekay.
However the film will start its schedule after Aamir finishes his current commitments - he is currently finishing the season for Satyamev Jayate and then will be doing promotions for 'Talaash' which is scheduled for November 30.
Later he will be going back to Chicago for Dhoom 3 shoots. And by the end of this year, they will be starting to work on 'Peekay'.

Ferrari Ki Sawaari : Starts Slow, but gains pace and get 25 crore!

Rajesh Mapuskar's comedy flick, Ferrari Ki Sawaari had started slow on the releasing day as most of the theaters had only 60% occupancy. But Eros entertainment has now come up with the collection details and the movie is said to have collected a sum of Rs. 25 crore already, which is marking it as a hit. The responses were mostly guided by the cast as Sharman Joshi did not have a big hit after '3 idiots' so it was a bit confusing for the audiences to reach back to him. But it seems that he has found the light and as we have the latest reports, more people are coming in for the movie and the latest reports mention a occupancy rate of 80% across screens.

The movie was a small budget one with under Rs. 10 crore budget has yet slammed the boxoffices for being a neat and clean family movie. Ferrari Ki Sawaari, which sees Sharman Joshi in a solo lead for the first time, is a ‘big dose of emotion and comedy’. A clean family film, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is about a young father with single motive in life that of fulfilling his son’s dream. The movie also stars ace actor Boman Irani, along with Ritwik Sahore. It is directed by debutant director Rajesh Mapuskar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra in association with Eros International.

On Friday, the film collected Rs.3.04 crore and the collections increased to Rs.4.5 crore on Saturday and on Sunday it was Rs.6.40 crore, making a total of almost Rs.14 crore.

Sharman Joshi was humbled by the responses that he received over the movie. "I am feeling too happy. We are very, very thankful to the people for their love. We are very humbled by the love and affection they are showing. Thank you very much," said Sharman. "In Bombay and in the whole country, every show is earning a huge collection and we are expecting Rs.25 crore in the first week and it's only going to grow bigger and stronger," he added.

Boman Irani mentioned that he is happy for the movie and Sharman, "I would only say that after 3 Idiots, Sharman is like a family member in the Chopra camp. Sharman is a fantastic actor and it would be so unfair of our directors and producers if they don't use a talent like Sharman in our films," he said.

"I am so happy that Sharman got this role and he essayed it so fantastically. And I feel good that such a good actor is with us," he added.

so lets sing along.. fa fa fa faa rarara riii.....its Ferrari Ki Sawaari!

Ferrari Ki Sawaari : Filled with freshness

With just one day to its release the movie 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' adds a fresh feel as the overall roles played by the actors and the director are the main factors to this. The director Rajesh Mapuskar, who had successfully ran campaigns of advertisements had decided to quit the ad industry and try his luck with movies. Together with Vidhu Vinod Chopra productions, he is now able to have a strong platform to launch his story. Mapuskar feels that it is the confidence that the producers puts on him that drives his confidence in taking the movie to the next level.

To add to the factor, Sharman Joshi takes up the lead role and this time he would be playing the role of a father who works keenly on fulfilling his son's dream. Which is again a new territory for Sharman Joshi as he has never done anything similar and as he says he never has the looks of a father! "I went through all the emotions. It was frustrating, tiring, exhausting. Factors of fear came in. It had been about two-and-half years," the 33-year-old told. Continuing about his effort for the movie and fulfilling the character he adds "But you have to deal with them if you are committed to something. It requires patience. I was not willing to short sell myself. I was looking for the right kind of work that would excite me. Quality work takes time. I am not here to put out a barrage of movies,"

“I had to convince the director that I can pull of the role (of a single parent), as I don't look like a father at all. It was very challenging for me as an actor” says the actor.

The missing romantic side

The movie attempts to change the way story is narrated as it has mainly three characters that drive the story, that of Sharman Joshi, his son and Sharman's father, played by Boman Irani. Boman Irani's role is already much appreciated on the promo's, he plays a cranky old father. Mapuskar feels that he is glad that he has the great crew to back his story and is always obliged to Boman Irani for committing for the debut movie.

The film takes a lot of risks — it is actor Sharman Joshi’s first film as a solo protagonist, it has no romantic angle but is about a father’s quest to fulfil his young son’s dreams and it has a first-timer like Mapuskar at the helm. And in Chopra’s own words, it was considered by many as “financial suicide’’. The production house, however, went ahead to give a chance to a budding director “who had not filmed anything before” but had worked as an assistant director in the Munnabhai series and 3 Idiots.

“In Ferrari Ki Sawari, Sharman’s character does all the things a mother does for a child in a traditional Hindi film,” Irani said. Asked if the production house was relying too much on its home-grown formula that combines a humourous look at human failings and the feel-good factor, Irani said they were not “changing anything just for the heck of changing”.

“The filmmaking process is complex in which an actor is translating the director’s vision on screen,” said Irani, adding that he can get into the skin of the character he is essaying through keen observation and exploring the theme in depth.

Ask Sharman if he hates doing the usual romantic hero role in the Hindi movies, he says he isn't interested yet in those but he did not failed say “But I still have a lot of years ahead of me and I may end up surprising audiences by running around trees and doing all the things that Hindi film heroes do on screen,” he added.

Vidya's Dance is a lavani song not item number - Chopra

With the first teasers for 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' the crowd is in anticipations for the teasers for the much promoted Vidya Balan item number in the movie. The audience has been eagerly waiting and media did try to hook up with Vidhu Vinod Chopra on the topic and he clarified that the song that Vidya is part of is a cameo in Lavani, and he doesn't want it to be called as an item number.  "I don't like the word, item number...it puts me off. Item number means our film is not good, so we got an item girl to do an item song. We are doing a 'lavani' (a Maharashtrian folk dance) in the film. The scene is a part of a wedding which Sharman attends in the film," says Chopra.

"The director (Rajesh Mapuskar) went to Pune to look for dancers. He messaged me from Pune and recommended Vidya, but I told him to leave it. He told me again to ask her so I sent a message to Vidya. She said she had been dying to do a 'lavani' for 15 years," he said. It is said that Vidya has already started the preparations for the movie. She has rehearsed 15 days for the songs and is said to be in the rhythm for the dance. With 'Chikni Chameli', the cameo by Katrina Kaif in Agneepath - Vidya Balan has a heavy task ahead of her to out do the song without getting compared.

The collaboration with Vidya and Chopra had started from the early days and the two had given mighty hits like 'Parineeta' and 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'. When asked about the missing heroine in the latest movie Chopra was quick to respond "We don't make movies for leading men, leading women or item numbers. We don't believe in that. We believe in a good story that is well told," the filmmaker said. "I remember when 'Parinda' was released, a Punjab distributor told me that the film would flop because Jackie Shroff doesn't have a heroine, but the movie did well." Chopra added. Directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar, 'Ferrari Ki Sawari' stars Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani in the lead, and is slated to be released on June 15.

Vidya Balan who should thank Milan Luthria for the the image change over from the next door girl to the hi-fi bomb shell that she is known for today. The movie 'Dirty Picture' not only broke the conventions or teased the line between vulgarity and hotness, it has also branded Vidya with a image she will be known for a long time. This time Vidya is ready to do an item number for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's movie 'Ferrari Ki Sawari'.

Vidya is already planning high on this offer and has asked the production crew to test 10 different looks for her glamorous outing. She will be choosing the most glamorous outfit and she has also asked the production crew to give her scratches of the song so that she can prepare for it good time.

A source from the production crew says "As it is, Vidya has undergone a drastic makeover for The Dirty Picture. So the idea is to go further than that. Hence she is insisting that we should collectively exploit as many looks as possible for her song, and go with the one that best suits the song that will be eventually finalised. So 10 different looks are being worked out for her, with inputs from the film's makers and the stylist, apart from the actress herself."

The news is also strong that there was an instant approval by Vidya for the project as she was excited to see the snippets of the movie which starred Sharman Joshi, along with the producers Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani. It is also said that Vidya has also extensively discussed this song with Chopra, Hirani and Mapuskar, who is the director of the movie.

Rajesh Mapuskar later confirmed the entry of Vidya "Yes, we are creatively working out the look. There have been all kinds of item numbers and we want this one to be different."

Munnabhai Ki Atma Katha - Movie Finalized

After the speculations of Munnabhai series, Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Raju Hirani has finally announced the sequel to Munnabhai story. This time it is Munnabhai Ki Atma Katha (Biography of Munnabhai). The new movie is said to be a bigger bang than what happened on the previous two episodes of Munnabhai.

There will be no change in cast as the 52 year old Actor Sanjay Dutt will still do the role of Munnabhai and Arshad Warsi will portray the famous sidekick circut. Vinod Chopra confirms, saying, "Sanjay and Arshad are returning to play Munna and Circuit. We are developing the script right now, and the film should start in 2012."

Interestingly, it is a well-known fact that Chopra was offered a huge amount of money by a Hollywood studio to part with the super successful franchise, but he hasn't bitten the bait yet.

Earlier there was rumors that there will be change in the lead cast and the movie was set to be shot in America.
