Joker : Akshay Kumar Alien to the camp?

However hard the production house claims that it is a marketing strategy the truth doesn't hide - it comes out with full power. The recent absence of Akshay Kumar from the promotions of Joker has been much in news, the actor hasn't however commented on the truth but it is obvious and the camp is missing the lead actor as well. As with Ra.One, Shirish Kunder decided to tweet this as well!

Shirish had recently tweeted "A true leader takes 

responsibility for his team and leads them through thick and thin. Never abandons them and runs away."

As it is obvious this is aimed at Akshay Kumar - Shirish later deleted this tweet but the damage seems to be done. There was news that Akshay has fallen off with both Farah and Shirish and he has decided not to work any further with the team. 

Although Farah Khan had recently denied any such event and mentioned that this is just another marketing tactics by the producers and Akshay will join the crew at the right moment. She immediately did change the topic on to the movie and says that it is fun filled.

Joker is jointly produced by the UTV Motion Pictures, Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om Productions and Farah Khan-Shirish Kunder’s, Three’s Company Productions Pvt Ltd. 

The promotions are still on and recently the costumes worn by Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha was kept on auction, “Akshay and Sonakshi are a superhit pair who have helped many in their own ways and it is amazing that even their clothes can contribute for the welfare of society,” Farah added. “We will be giving the costumes to the agencies who will auction them for the benefit of animals. Given the popularity the two actors have, we are sure these costumes will fetch good money,” said Farah. The film releases on August 31.

Where Shirish is joining hands with SRK camp - he needs to also check with Akshay Kumar too and sort the issues if any with the actor and failure of this might lead to a nose dive at box office - as we still have the tiger roaring loud - so Joker will need Akshay Kumar to give the helping hand and stand tall when it releases this friday.

Shirish Kunder apologizes to SRK on twitter

After the much talked war between Shirish Kunder and Shah Rukh Khan it seems everything has cooled down. After SRK gave the indication to let bygones be bygones by promoting Joker, the movie which was supposedly the main reason for the fight between the two, Shirish is also seen trying to patch up with the Bollywood’s Baadshah Khan!

On Kunder’s apology, his wife, filmmaker Farah Khan was quoted as saying, “I’m proud of my husband. It takes a big heart to apologise.”

However according to some, this is a publicity stunt done by Kunder since his new movie Joker is going to be released on 31st of August.

It seems both Farah, Shahrukh & Shirish are trying to mend their friendship. First SRK was seen promoting Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi, then Farah was seen visiting the superstar at his home Mannat where he shot a promotional video for her husband’s upcoming movie, Joker.

Buzz was that, Farah’s renewed closeness with her old friend didn’t go down well with Joker’s main lead Akshay Kumar. Apparently he was miffed with Farah since she roped SRK to promote the film. All the media attention went to SRK when it should have been to Akki and so he felt hurt and distanced by Farah and Shirish.

In January 2012, SRK allegedly slapped Shirish Kunder for making nasty comments on his movie Ra.One.  It was also reported that he followed the star wherever he went, including the washroom!

And this was when SRK got irritated and pinned him on a sofa, first trying to talk to him. But when Shirish continued to retort back, SRK slapped him.

So will Shah Rukh Khan accept Shirish’s apology or will ignore it thinking as one publicity stunt?

Joker Goes Hi-Tec - Akshay stays away from promotions!

Shirish Kunder's Joker is the next big release after Ek Tha Tiger, the movie will also see Akshay doing the well known comedy genre that he has mastered. Shirish Kunder who is happy with how the promotions are going on is now planning to launch the second trailer of the movie pretty soon. He has been working with international artists on creating the Hollywood style trailer for the movie. 

"I am currently making a second trailer of 'Joker' which will be laden with visual effects and many more things that we haven't disclosed so far," confirms Shirish Kunder.

The movie which has aliens as their highlight will show more of UFO's and Aliens in the second trailer that will get released soon. "Some very highly qualified technicians are working on this visually attractive trailer. Prime Focus is also working with me and they have branches in New York and London. Technicians from those centers are making sure this trailer is of international standards.

The idea is to do something different and woo audiences, like what we have been doing to promote the film so far," adds Shirish.

But even midst of the promotions - Akshay Kumar who plays the lead of the movie, is missing from the promotion events. For now its only the actresses who have took up the responsibility of movie promotions, we are seeing only Sonakshi Sinha and Chitrangada Singh doing the promotional events and it is very unlikely that the hero of the movie is missing. The rumors are spreading out between a fight with Akshay and Shirish!

But it seems that the rumors are nicely covered up, as Farah Khan came up with the excuse that this is just another marketing strategy. "It's a strategy, please don't go by what you are reading in the papers, it's somebody trying to do mischief. It's a strategy we have adopted," the 47-year-old said here in an interview.

"We have just seen a lot of them doing 'Rowdy Rathore' promotion, we didn't want our film to look the same. It's a very different film, it's a kids-friendly film. Our USP are the aliens and we want to play upon that," Farah said. (Is that an excuse?!)

Further she said that the movie is for family viewing, "It's for kids. After a very long time you'll see a film where parents can take their kids and they don't have to worry that something will come now, a kiss or sex or violence. It's very clean and entertaining film," Farah said.

Now its up to you that you believe Farah or the rumor - but our common sense says 'What The ...', if you go by the logic of Farah, then it would be tough for superstars like Shahrukh, Salman or Aamir to pair up with the same heroine again and do promotions together! As we all are aware how good a personality Shirish Kunder is, it wont be tough to find who is playing here. Shahrukh’s cameo in Shirish Kunder’s Joker

We all know Shrish Kunder is all set for the release of his movie Joker starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade, Minisha Lamba. And there is a pleasant surprise for everyone.

Our very own Baadshah of Bollywood will be doing a cameo role to promote the movie. Yes you heard it right. After the infamous brawl between Shrish and SRK it is being said that both have kept their differences aside and patched up.

Strangely Joker was the film that was the main reason of SRK-Farah fall out.

 It appears Farah Khan had gone to meet SRK to discuss their new venture ‘Happy New Year’ at his house Mannat. SRK is supposed to leave later this week for the shoot of his YRF’s untitled film. So Farah thought of discussing about her new project as early as possible. After a long conversation both started discussing about Joker and the aliens. Farah asked SRK if he wish to see them and he agreed. Therefore she asked her production team to bring those aliens to Mannat.

Shahrukh obliged her by shooting a funny video with the aliens of Joker. Despite being busy with a photo shoot with Daboo Ratnani at Mannat, the actor did the video simultaneously for Farah.

SRK said: "This is not somebody else's film. Its' Farah's and Shirish's. They've been my friends for years. I'm her friend which is why I'm doing this, why would I do it otherwise? She requested me and I think it's an interesting concept."

Talking about meeting the Aliens he added "I am very happy that Karela and Kaddu have come to my house. I'm non-vegetarian and Karela and Kaddu aren't among my favourite foods, so fortunately for them I won't eat them when they visit."

When asked Farah how she felt she said, “Shahrukh is  family and it was very sweet of him to take some time out for Joker."

The promos of the movie and the head-turning item number of Chintrangada Singh is gaining rave reviews from the audiences.

The movie is going to be released on 31st august.

Joker comes out with a U certificate

There will be no cuts no trims and the movie Joker will be on screens as shot by Shirish Kunder. Now it has become a rare news where a movie fails to get an "A" certificate. There has been movies who wanted to receive the certificate but Shirish Kunder is not in the league. He was super excited about the fact that his movie came out with a U certificate.

"#JOKER Update: Censor gives `U` Certificate with no cuts. Calls it a clean family entertainer they have seen in a long time," Kunder tweeted.

The movie which stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade, Minissha Lamba in the lead roles will hit screens on August 31st.

The movie however hasn't been able to create  the buzz which it had done with Rowdy Rathore or similar Akshay movies, the songs are still not hitting the high positions on charts and this could ofcourse be a worry for the director and the producer. (video songs of Joker)

Akshay Kumar plays the role of Raj/Agasthya who's working on a top secret project for creating a device to communicate with aliens. The film revolves around a village Paglapur that didn't find a place in either India or Pakistan at the time of partition.

The village had the distinction of housing the largest mental asylum in the region and in the melee that ensued during partition, the asylum inmates broke loose, drove away the villagers and established their own republic in Paglapur. And that's how it stayed for the next 60 years! While the world outside changed, Paglapur remained isolated, with no electricity, television or sanity!

The story sounds like typical Akshay Kumar version on how he would act, but we will wait few more weeks on how good it makes an impact on audience. The duo of Akshay and Sonakshi has been known to do wonders and their onscreen chemistry has been praised a lot in Rowdy Rathore.

Aliens resembles sea creature Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean series, another resembles the aliens shown in recent blockbuster Men In Black 3. One of the dwarf alien in the Joker's poster, resembles the famous ET - the extra terrestrial.

There has been lot of criticism for Shirish on the graphics and aliens of his choice, the famous one's were from : 

 "Aliens don't wear zippers and LED lights Mr Kunder. Nakal k lie b akal chaie :p (you need brains to cheat)," posted Annu Agarwal on Facebook. "Just saw the poster of Joker...what were they thinking? shameless... stop copying Hollywood," tweeted Hanish Jindal.

The movie is also said to be showing Farah Khan in a cameo, much before her SFKTNP (Shirin Farhad Ki To Nikal Padi) -  "It was a totally different experience for me to be directed by my husband. It was a last minute decision to add the portion, where I play myself in the film."  says Farah Khan.

'I want to Fakht You' leaked! Shirish Miffed

We like the timing when a sudden unofficial releases or 'leaks' happen with movies which are just about reaching its official song release. We had seen this with Ra.One and now we have a leak from the Shirish Kunder's 'Joker' camp. The song 'I want to Fakht you' was leaked on internet yesterday. 

From what we hear of the song, its not so superb as Chammak Challo, just feels like 'Chikini Chameli' and the song continues with the same trend. The shots of Chitrangada Singh in Lavani dress is also a similarity if one can draw more. 

The camp confirms that the song has been changed and the word 'Fakht' has been changed to 'Just' to avoid further controversies on release. The word 'Fakht' was from Marathi. This is apparently giving director Shirish Kunder sleepless nights. Talking about it he says, “This song is the highlight of the film which is picturised on Chitrangda. After a special screening with a focussed audience group, we got the feedback that the word fakht should be changed to compliment the ‘U’ certificate our film has got. These things happen when usually we have a crowd sequence being shot. This leak must have happened either from the recording studio or from one of the dancers, who usually have the songs to rehearse their steps. We are still trying to figure out who the culprit is and then we will see how we can take this forward. We want to ensure strict punishment is meted out to the culprit since it is illegally done.”

"This is an older version the song that is in the film. It's been a horrible morning, with people texting and calling me about it. I woke up to these messages, and I am yet to see what is online, but this is in bad taste. That too, just when the movie is ready, and we're ready to talk about it," rages Shirish.

Farah Khan, the producer of the film, says she can't believe this is happening to her all over again. "I had a heart attack in the morning when I saw the texts and tweets. This happened during Tees Maar Khan also, when both the songs and their videos were leaked online. Where the hell is this coming from? It is difficult to find out, and this is an old version. Our music hasn't even been officially launched, and you all can be cynical and say this is a publicity stunt, but for us, this is more of a loss than a gain. What if someone copies the song? I have learnt the hard way, and I don't even know how to stop this now. And if we wanted controversy, we would have let the song stay in the film. We ourselves removed it, saying this is a children's film and there should be nothing controversial to it. Wait, let me go and see it," she says.

 "Thank God, it's a small mercy that at least, the video is not there. This means someone has put together the stills of the film with the older version of the song and uploaded it. This is just not done." says Farah after viewing the song on youtube.

Joker Trailer To release with Cocktail

Six more days to go for the first promo! 'Joker' which is said to be Akshay's 100th film, directed by Shirish Kunder. The movie has been much talked about due to its controversies but it seems that the production house has cleared the controversy and the first looks will be available on July 12 (controversial news here).

The 39 year old tweeted earlier that " 'Joker' trailer will now release earlier on July 12. So all those who were doing the countdown can minus "1" from it. Six days to go,". Akshay who is well riding on the success and market that 'Rowdy Rathore' brought to him, is all set to repeat the success. The movie does have a storyline which is catchy and is said to pull up more crowd to theaters considering that the Audience just love his desi andaaz.


"Joker" features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles and is set for a Aug 31 release.

Akshay Kumar plays a character who returns to his hometown - a place that's so remote that it's not even on the map. But sequence of events puts the little town not just on the country's map, but makes it the focus of the entire globe.

Salman back to US for treatment!

Its a tough news but that is what the latest is coming in from Salman's camp, Salman Khan who went to US last year to perform a surgery for his neural problem is said to be flying again to US for further treatment. The actor who was advised earlier by doctors not to perform stunts or action sequences was still doing it for Ek Tha Tiger and it seems that this has taken its toll. 

Talking to a leading daily, a source close to the actor said, “Even a slight misjudged punch on the face could trigger off his condition and cause acute pain," The friend revealed that a collective decision has been taken by the family members and the filmmakers of Salman`s upcoming ventures to keep him "out of danger as much as possible.”

The producers and directors are already taking up precautions to prevent any further hassle with his condition. His upcoming movies are Arbaaz Khan's Dabaang 2, Sohail's Sher Khan and Shirish Kunder's Kick, which are all, ironically, action movies. Arbaaz and Sohail who are already planning the shoots have decided to keep the superstar out of the action sequences as much as possible. 

According to TOI, Sohail Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala, producers of Sher Khan and Kick respectively, have already hired the best stunt directors and body doubles from Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Salman however, is not willing to let go completely. According to a source, the actor insists on being present while the body doubles do the complicated action scenes.

This is in addition to the latest mishap which happened at the sets of 'Dabaang 2' in which a stuntman was seriously injured.(news here) It is also said that Salman wanted to do that action sequences himself, but it was Arbaaz who made him do away with it. A source says "Arbaaz is trying his best to avoid Salman Khan from doing the stunts and he is taking precautions from him getting into accidents at the sets".

Sorry no 3D for Joker!

Shirish Kunder's Akshay Kumar starrer was supposed to be the first Indian 3D movie with a superstar, but it seems that the production house had a change of mind. The latest news is that the movie won't be going on air with 3D format, as the marketting crew found no great differences between a 3D and 2D flick, also the lack of enough 3D screens has been sighted as the cause for this decision. 

Shirish Kunder confirmed the news and added, "The initial plan was for Joker to be the first 3D film with a big star. But that USP doesn't hold anymore. Taking into account the recent responses to 2D versus 3D ventures, we decided to reach out to a wider audience." Siddharth Roy Kapoor, MD, Studios-Disney UTV, said, "For a movie featuring a superstar (read: Akshay), the draw is more the star power and the content. We have seen this in case of many films over the past year that have clicked at the BO more for the film itself rather than the incremental business from 3D screens. Given this experience, we took a collective decision with Akshay, Shirish and his wife Farah Khan to complete Joker in the regular 2D format only."

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Minissha Lamba and produced by Studios-Disney UTV.

It is also said that there has been another twist of tale. After his first movie 'Jaan-E-Mann', Shirish had signed up with Eros entertainment for a movie, but for his bad fate, the script took four years to complete and it is said that the movie was named Joker, and now the news is that Shirish has returned the signing amount as he has committed the movie with UTV.

The plot says that Akshay plays a character who returns to his hometown - a place that's so remote that it's not even on the map. But sequence of events puts the little town not just on the country's map, but makes it the focus of the entire globe.

The story also involves aliens.

Go on the beach and enjoy life - says Akshay to Aarav

Akshay Kumar, the disciplined actor as he is known in the industry has been an equally dedicated father and a husband. This has been announced again and again by his action and words. Recently when IANS caught up with Akshay, he was all specific on what he needs in life and how he wants the life of his child mended. He is also specific on the lifestyle he will like to continue even in the midst of these hectic schedules. 

Akshay says "He is too young. I want my son to be away from films. I want him to enjoy childhood. I want him to go and play football. Go on the beach and enjoy life,", the protective father in Akshay rose out when the reporter asked him whether he will like his son to be in movies. Akshay who has been playing the cool guy and party freak in movies doesn't seem to be liking the compromise of childhood fun for fame and money.

Also when asked about his mantra for the energetic performances and steady lifestyle he was quick to open his mind "I don't enjoy partying. I don't understand why they play music so loud. I like to sleep early. I go off to sleep by 9 to 9.30. I get up by 4.30 in the morning," the 44-year-old said. So that really explains how he has the disciplined schedule for his movies and shoots.

He is also glad to have a supporting family and he cracks a joke when asked about Twinkle's idea about him sleeping early "Twinkle sleeps by 8.45 in the night and thank god this is the only similarity that I and Twinkle share. Life becomes very calm when your partner sleeps at the same time. We share this one thing in common," he said.

Akshay Kumar who is currently doing Shirish Kunder's 'Joker' and Prabhu Deva's 'Rowdy Rathore' is having a busy schedule at the moment, he is also eagerly awaiting his multi starrer release 'Houseful 2' which is all packed to be a super hit!

SRK in Farah's next

After the tiff between SRK and Shirish Kunder, Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan will soon come together. 

Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan have decided to work again together after five long years. They will be seen in the movie "Happy New Year" which will be directed by Farah Khan. Their last release together was Om Shanti Om in the 2007 which was a super duper hit.

The best buddies parted ways personally and professionally a few years back when King Khan kept Shirish's film hanging for five years, before deciding that he wouldn't be doing it. Farah took it personally. And the differences increased when she cast Akshay Kumar in "Tees Maar Khan" and announced it without informing Shah Rukh. Things got worse when Shirish posted sarcastic comments about the film RA.One on his social networking page after the release of the movie. After the fight SRK had with Farah's husband Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt's party in February, the two patched up. They even met a few times at home after that. It was during one of Farah's visits to Mannat that they talked about working together again. Before SRK left for a 40-day schedule to London for his next film, Farah narrated the script and he instantly said yes.

Farah even went to London for two days recently to seal the dates and complete other formalities. The film is being touted as the baap of "Main Hoon Naa" and will be a wholesome entertainer.

They are expected to announce the film once Shah Rukh returns from London.

I haven't called anyone and no one has called me - Salman

It seems to be the tradition of media to somehow connect Salman Khan to SRK and derive a controversy. This hasn't been different for the Shirish Kunder episode. The news media reported earlier that Salman Khan had called Shirish following the brawl with Shah Rukh Khan, and assured him support against the actor.

But the fact still holds up that Salman Khan was not really aware of the party or the fight between SRK and Shirish. When TOI did make an investigation on this, the reporting media mentioned that it was Shirish himself that mentioned the call from Sallu. But as far as the production crew and the close members to Salman Khan is concerned, they are really surprised at this claim.

A source close to the family says, "It's really strange how bhai's name has gotten dragged into this. He hasn't called anyone. Salman doesn't even have network where he shoots. We haven't been speaking to him often also. He wasn't even aware of the fight... how can he call Shirish to offer support? When we called the newspaper to check about their source, we were told that Shirish told them about Salman's call to him. But shouldn't they have checked with him or someone from his side? Salim uncle is very upset about Salman's name being used in this fight."

BT seems to have caught hold of Salman and he said, "I am filming in Cuba. I am not using my phone here. I haven't called anyone and no one has called me. If you are printing this also say hello to my mom and dad." And the line went dead.

Big B's Unique way for breaking odds!

Chithrangadha Singh to do an Item number!

Chitangadha Singh will turn into an item girl for the first time in the upcoming movie by Shirish Kunder, which is being picturized over Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar, and the film is named as Joker. The director plans to make the item number very raunchy and is said to be choreographed by his wife and pronounced director and choreographer, Farah Khan.

The competition of this item number will be against the heroine of the movie Sonakshi Sinha, who is also said to be doing a hot song in the movie and is already being tagged as the hottest song for 2012. When compared to Chitangadha's song, Sonakshi will be doing more grace to the hot number where as Chitangadha's song will be more sexy. 

Chitangadha is also sharing screenspace in the movie and not just stopping for the cameo.

Director Shirish Kunder said, "Kaafirana is essentially a rustic song with a raunchy flavour to it. We wanted a fresh yet sensual face, and not the usual, go-to item girls of today. Also, Chitrangda hasn`t done an item song before, so the novelty value is very high. She was exactly what we were looking for.”
