Yahoo Has More Than 800 Mil. Users, 20% Increase Says CEO

San Francisco: Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer says the Internet company now has about 800 million worldwide users, a 20 percent increase since she was lured away from Google 15 months ago to steer a turnaround.
The gain disclosed Wednesday at a technology conference in San Francisco is the latest evidence of the progress that Yahoo Inc. is making under Mayer's leadership.

The Sunnyvale, California, company's stock has nearly doubled since Mayer came aboard, though she and analysts say that gain primarily stems from the value of Yahoo's holdings in China's rapidly growing Alibaba Group.

Mayer says the figure for the 800 million Yahoo users doesn't include the traffic that the company has picked up from its $1.1 billion acquisition of Internet blogging service Tumblr earlier this year.

Despite the increased traffic, Yahoo is still struggling to boost its online advertising revenue — the main way that the company makes money. In recent quarters, Yahoo's ad revenue has been barely rising while Google and another rival, Facebook Inc., have been thriving.

Mayer says she believes it her strategy for accelerating Yahoo's revenue growth will require at least three years to unfold.

Yahoo's stock shed 29 cents Wednesday to close at $29.19.

Juhi Chawla Not happy with SRK!

The audio launch of Ra.One had opened up another rough side of the actor when his partner and long time friend Juhi Chawla said that she was unhappy with Shah Rukh Khan! The events started when Shahrukh had dedicated the music album to Bobby, the CEO of Red Chillies Entertainment and Yash Johar, he said " I want to dedicate this album to Yash Joharji and Bobby. When we started our company, Red Chillies Entertainment, the one who helped me start it was Bobby..."

Following this comment, Juhi Chawla mentioned that she had concerns over the comment and she felt that the acknowledgment came in late. Bobby, the actress's brother is ill and is in the state of coma for few months. Juhi felt that Shahrukh should have mentioned the role of Bobby much earlier than now. She said "I have mixed feelings on Shahrukh's statement at Ra.One music launch, Bobby was very much involved in the song with Akon and it was then he met the mishap"

The actress also added that "It saddens me that the acknowledgment came so late"

She also felt that being the CEO of the Red Chillies Entertainment, there was never enough credits being given to Bobby. She also added that Shahrukh is so busy that he doesn't have time for his old friends.

So, the bottomline is that there is a crack in friendship, Shah Rukh Khan has been doing very well professionally and personally and has only on few occasions dropped friendship's, which include Aamir Khan, Salman Khan. He got a pack of bad messages when he dropped many of his friends and invited Priyanka Chopra for his Eid party. 

We will have to wait further to see how this develops.
