Indian Origin Girl Shot Dead In US, freak Accident

NEW YORK: In a freak accident , an 18-year-old Indianorigin girl was killed in the US when she jumped out of a closet to surprise a friend, who shot her thinking she was an intruder.


Premila Lal jumped out of a closet as a harmless joke to surprise Nerrek Galley, a 21-year-old family friend. But the noise startled the friend, who grabbed a gun and shot her, her father Praveen Lal said.

The incident happened on Friday night in Longmont , Colorado, north of Denver. The teenager's death was "unintended and extremely tragic," the police said in a statement.

"The closet opened and I think she jumped and screamed and he thought it was an intruder, so he pulled the trigged," the father said.

Just before 8 pm (local time) Premila Lal showed up at a house her family once called home. They had since moved, and were preparing to sell the place.

In the meantime, Galley was staying at the house. Premila Lal and her 12-yearold cousin apparently came to visit Galley. Lal's 15-yearold brother was also there hanging out with Galley.

Praveen Lal, said in interviews with the local media that his daughter entered the home without Galley's knowledge.

"We lost a daughter, so we don't want anybody else to lose their son, you know, especially when it was an accident ," Praveen Lal told Denver TV station KCNC.

Galley has been charged with reckless endangerment , child abuse and providing a gun to a juvenile because Lal's 15-year-old brother had access to the gun, the police said.

So far Galley has not been charged in Lal's killing . The police said that they do not suspect the involvement of alcohol or drugs.

News : Train Derailment in NW Spain; kills dozens

MADRID—A passenger train derailed Wednesday night on a curvy stretch of track in northwestern Spain, killing at least 40 people caught inside toppled cars and injuring at least 140 in the country's worst rail accident in decades, officials said.

A train traveling in northwestern Spain has derailed close to Santiago de Compostela.

Bodies were covered in blankets next to the tracks as rescue workers tried to get trapped people out of the train's cars. Some were pulled out of broken windows, and one man knelt atop a carriage lying on its side, using a pickax to try to break open a window. Images showed one car pointing up into the air with one of its ends twisted and disfigured. Another carriage that had been severed in two was lying on a road near the track.

Officials gave differing death tolls in the immediate aftermath of the crash just outside Santiago de Compostela, on the eve of the city's annual religious festival that attracts tens of thousands of Christian pilgrims from around the world.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, president of the region of Galicia where Santiago de Compostela is the capital, said at least 40 people died. But the president of Galicia's main court, Miguel Angel Cadenas, was quoted from the scene by the Cadena Ser radio station saying 56 died. Rescue workers were still searching through the smoldering wreckage of the train's cars Thursday morning in the predawn darkness.

State-owned train operator Renfe said in a statement that 218 passengers and an unspecified number of staff were on board the eight-carriage train during the 8.41 p.m. crash on a section of tracks that came online two years ago.

Renfe and track operator Adif were collaborating with a judge who has been appointed to investigate the accident...

Dabaang 2 : Meetings & Decisions - behind closed doors

Dabaang 2 is a special project for the Khan brothers as it will mark the debut of the actor-turned producer-director, Arbaaz Khan. But when the recent fire mishap(click here for detailed report) happened at the sets, this really shocked the crew and it is said that Arbaaz was quick to call off the shoot for Sunday. He also is calling up the production crew to report back to him to learn what went wrong with the sequence. The rumors are that the Khan's are also doing the meetings and all is done behind closed doors. 

"Salman bhai was shocked that something like this could have happened for a film of his. Thankfully all three injured men survived but things could have gone worse. Arbaaz bhai (who is doubling up as a producer and a director) immediately cancelled the Sunday shoot though he instructed his production team to report for work. The agenda was not just to find out how the incident had occurred but also identify measures to be taken so that none of that is repeated." says a source at the sets. 

It is said that Salman Khan is also getting involved in the meetings as he never likes his crew members getting hurt. "Those in charge of action, sets and power supply have been asked to adhere to the guidelines. Both brothers are mighty upset with the incident. They were also fully aware that rest of the crew wouldn't have been in a good frame of mind to continue shooting on the very next day and hence cancelled the Sunday shoot. However work resumed on Monday, though with a far stricter check. It is business as usual now but both Arbaaz and Salman would be keeping a close eye on how the days progress" adds the source.

Arbaaz later reported back to the media "All of them are out of danger. In fact two of them would be discharged soon while the third would take four-five weeks to recuperate. However good care is being taken of him. We are sad and disappointed that this happened on our sets. We had an all-heads meeting on Sunday and there are a list of do's and don'ts shared all over again. Such mishaps are unacceptable and we are taking extra measures to ensure there is no repeat."

Salman Khan still does stunts!

Salman, who is suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia - a neuropathic disorder, was earlier advised by the medical crew that he shouldn't be doing stunt scenes(click here for the report). But it seems that it is not been followed by the actor who was recently seen shooting stunt scenes for Dabaang 2. It is said that the crew is taking extreme care on the stunts that are performed by Salman. Especially his safety lines have been hiked following the mishap at the Mehboob studios. 

Salman Khan was shooting the intro sequences for Dabaang 2.

Taruni receives last rites

Late on this, but we are still shocked by her departure. The cute and bubbly girl which really added character to Amitabh Bachchan's role in Paa, Taruni Sachdev. The shock that her departure has left in minds of millions is still strong and when her body received last rites we pray silently for her and may god keep her in the sweetest of places up over us!

Taruni Sachdev, the famous child artist had recently met her death in the plane crash at Nepal, which had took the lives of 15. Her body was brought to Mumbai from Kathmandu through cargo along with her mother's body at 3 p.m on Wednesday. The funeral took place at Santa Cruz (West) cremation ground at 5.30 p.m. Her mother was also cremated at the same time.

"Woh bhagwan ki beti thi, bhagwan ke paas chali gayi (She was god's daughter, she has gone to god)," Taruni's father told reporters.

Her maternal uncle said: "Apni maa ke saath teerth yatra par gayi thi aur yeh sab ho gaya (She had gone on a pilgrimage with her mother). We are still in state of shock."

Taruni was among 13 Indians who were killed when an aircraft crashed into a hill while coming in to land at Jomsom in western Nepal.

At 14, she had already featured in almost 50 ads, including a commercial for Rasna, and did a cameo in Paa, apart from featuring in Malayalam films Vellinakshtram and Sathyam. 

No stars were present at the cremation, but Amitabh Bachchan, who played her school friend in Paa, condoled her death through a Twitter post, and sent a personal letter of condolence to the bereaved family.

Fatal accident occurs on sets of Son Of Sardar

Actor Ajay Devgan and his team are shooting for his upcoming movie Son of Sardar directed by Ashwini Dheer in Patiala. The movie has been in news since the shoot has started. 

First Ajay Devgn and Arjan Bajwa were down with stomach infection and now a fatal incident occured on the sets of Son of Sardar. 

One of the crew members lost his life. A light man named Machinder Arvel aka Bala, got electrocuted just a few metres away, from where Devgn was shooting for the film. While . On Monday, when Ajay Devgan and Mukul Dev were getting ready for their shot and light man Machinder Arvel ,Bipin Yadav and others were setting up the lights, a high voltage wire fell on them. Machinder died on the spot and Bipin Yadav, another light man, is currently in the ICU.

Ajay Devgan posted on twitter, "Its a sad day 2day bcoz during the shoot 2day we lost 1 of our men. Mourning his loss. D team has taken a big hit. Nothing can compensate his loss an my heart goes out to his family. We will do whatever we can to support them (sic)."

Dharmesh Tiwari, FWICE's President expressed serious concern over the incidents. Ganesh Khandane (Bala's brother-in-law and also a light man by profession) said that his sister and he are deeply shocked by the incident. He added that they are grateful to FWICE that his brother's body is being flown to Mumbai. Even though they are clueless about what to do after this unfortunate incident, they are planning to demand compensation from Ajay Devgn. 

Prem Singh Thakur (Vice Chairman of the Union), explained that a hi-voltage 11,000 Watts line was running overhead, just above the streamer. When the streamer was being raised, the hi-voltage line lifted it to a great height, much towards itself. He added that the incident took place when the light men were trying to raise a streamer so as to increase the intensity of light that would fall on the faces of actors Ajay Devgn and Mukul Dev. 

Meanwhile not only Ajay but co-stars of the film (Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and others) have decided to offer compensation to help Machinder's family in Mumbai. The shooting was called off for a day after the accicdent and resumed on the next day.

Abhishek in pain - Bol Bachchan

The stunt scene for Bol Bachchan has cost a lot for Abhishek Bachchan who is badly injured and now in Mumbai following the six stitches near his eye and bruises all over. He was doing a stunt in a rickshaw when the mishap happened, he fell on his head and legs. The actor was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and after primary treatments flew back to Mumbai from Jaipur, where the action sequence was being shot.

The movie Bol Bachchan is a Action-Comedy from Rohit Shetty, who had a wonderful time in his past movie Singham which went up to become a hit of masses. The movie Bol Bachchan also stars Ajay Devgan, Asin, Prachi Desai and Archana Puran Singh in lead roles.
