Discrimination In Treatment; Kajol drops IIFI Goa 2013

Kajol Devgan is not an actress who can stand the discrimination and different treatment. The latest event was when the IIFI Goa 2013 organizers decided to treat the Hollywood actress and Kajol in different classes, which miffed the actor.

As per the reports, Hollywood actress Susan Saradon will be inaugurating the ceremony. The special treatment which made Kajol express her resentment included business class tickets for Sarandon and also a high-end luxury car to pick her from the airport.

A source says, "Kajol was invited by the International Film Festival of India to be a part of the opening ceremony, but she put down some conditions and did not attend."

Nonetheless, Bollywood bigwigs including Rekha, Rani Mukherji, Kamal Haasan, Asha Bhosle and other prominent guests were a part of the opening ceremony of the IFFI Goa 2013.

Ready To Be Intimate And Bold If Script Demands - Kareena

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan says that marriage has not changed her perception towards roles in films and she is open to do intimate scenes if the script demands.

"Marriage has nothing to do with the kind of roles or such things... I fail to understand why people associate love or marriage with your career," Kareena told PTI in an interview here.

Kareena had done some intimate scenes in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara with Ajay Devgn and there was also a kissing scene with Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots.

In Prakash Jha's recently-released film Satyagraha, there was a romantic sequence between Kareena and co-star Ajay Devgn. However, Kareena reportedly refused do the scene.

"It was all media reported. Whatever the script requires, I do it. But in a film like Satyagraha I feel it

was not required. It was not a romantic film that we need to have it (kissing and intimate scene)...It was more about the fight of a common man against the system," Kareena said.

When asked if her husband actor Saif Ali Khan had seen Satyagraha, she said, "No. He does not watch films much."

Saif and Kareena tied the knot last October after a five-year courtship.

"I don't feel overburdened by responsibilities. My priority has always been my family. I have always balanced my personal and professional life and I will continue to do so," she added.

Kareena is happy with the response she is getting for her latest film Satyagraha.

"I am trying to add variety in my work and Satyagraha is not a regular film. I am happy with the kind of response we are getting for the film. It shows that things are changing today and people are ready to accept film with good content," she said.

The film released on August 30 and raked in over Rs 50 crore at the box office so far.

Ajay Devgan in legal trouble for SOS

It seems that the funny introduction to the Son Of Sardar trailer did not go all that well for Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty. The comic part of the introduction which had a negative impact on the Sikh community has retracted back with a legal notice from senior lawyer Navkiran Singh.

The trailer was not a big hit and this seems to have delayed the retractions from the community. (view trailer here) Talking to Sikhsiyasat, the lawyer said "After watching the official trailer of the upcoming movie “Son of Sardar” on YouTube, I decided to issue legal notice to the makers of the movie"

Devgn was comments like "If Sikhs were not there, then who would have invented abuses" and also "in case Sardar would not have been there, then on whom would the jokes be made".

According to Singh, he came to know about these comments after watching the movie. The notice said that the film, in some parts, shows Sikhs in a bad light and hurts religious sentiments. And he wants Ajay to delete the dialogues from his official promo and also that may be included in the full movie!

The advocate has given Ajay a time of seven days to respond back to his complaint. A failure in this might take him to court for further legal procedures. According to TOI, the notice has been sent on Devgn's two addresses, at # 5/6 Sheetal Apartment, Opposite Chandan Cinema, Juhu, Mumbai-400049, and # 45-D Malgari Road, Mumbai-400058.

We will have to wait further for a retaliation from the actor or director, but personally we think that this shouldn't be made an issue at all - if it does then there should be a global ban over the Sardar jokes that is spreading, the dedicated sites that are sharing these jokes.

SRK to promote Chennai Express during IPL

According to the latest reports, King Khan is set to promote his upcoming movie Chennai Express in the next season of IPL.

SRK is well known for his aggressive marketing style. No one can ever forget the rigorous promotions of Shahrukh’s Ra.One which started almost 4-5 months before the movie’s actual release. This time around the Superstar has planned to promote his film Chennai Express during the opening event of IPL season 6 by a performance.

After the success of Bol Bachchan, Rohit Shetty is all set to start his shooting with the Baadshah of Bollywood for his movie Chennai Express. Reports say that King Khan is planning to market the movie’s name on railway cups and trays since the story of the movie revolves around a train.

Chennai Express will be a hard core commercial film with a romantic angle starring Shahrukh Khan & his Om Shanti Om co-star Deepika Padukone. The story is about a man travelling from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and his experiences during the journey. There is a lot of romance keeping Shah Rukh Khan in mind but it will also be a typical Rohit Shetty film like the cars blowing and other lot of action.

Buzz was that the Golmaal filmmaker was previously supposed to do a remake of Gulzaar’s Angoor, but kept the project at the backburner since he realised getting dates from SRK is a big task! Apparently there were also rumors about a fall-out between Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan as the Singham star was upset of not being part of good friend, Rohit's next flick. But later both rubbished such gossips.

Will SRK and Rohit's jodi be a SuperHit?  Will the King Khan's marketing tactics work this time? Time will only tell...

AB says : 100 Crore Club? Where? I'd like to have coffee there!

Celebrations are still on for Abhishek Bachchan as he got in to the Rs 100 Crore club with his latest movie Bol Bachchan, directed by Rohit Shetty. The movie was a full on entertainer that still brings in audience. But it seems that Abhishek Bachchan is mature enough to not get carried away with the success.

Abhishek Bachahan was at the launch ceremony of his customized Audi A8 4.2 TDI Quattro, the car was a gift to himself as a part of celebrating his movie success. The fully automated, classy and beautifully customised four-wheeler now belong to Bachchan which he bought from his own hand earned money.

"I've just asked my team to find the address of where the Rs.100 crore club is because I would like to have a cup of coffee there sometime. There is no such club," said Abhishek.

"It's just that the 100 crore mark has replaced what the silver jubilee used to be before, it's like a milestone," added the 36-year-old, who says its "a huge honour to be part of a film with that kind of collections".

said AB sportingly when he asked how did he feel about being the member of the Rs.100 crore club!

Asked if the new car was a gift to himself for the success of Bol Bachchan, Abhishek said: "That makes a good headline, but unfortunately no. We decided to do this, it's completely customised. I have been a bit slow in picking everything and have taken my time, it's really a labour of love for me."

"So, although the timing is great - with the release of Bol Bachchan, I received the car, but it's something Audi and I started working on almost a year ago," he added.

Son Of Sardar : Title Music fails to impress

Although the movie trailer is quite fast and fun to watch with all the Rohit Shetty style stunts, the title music fails to impress even kids! The recent release of theatrical trailer for Son Of Sardar, starring Ajay Devgan, Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt looses it on the title song department, which might be pivotal for driving in the audience! The trailer sees Ajay Devgan narrating the situation of the world without Sardars, and its quite funny at times and with the latest image that Ajay has brought in for himself the dialogues are quite convincing too. The trouble starts in when the title music starts and its way to below average from what we have heard. Do let us know what you thought about it!

The movie showcases for the first time - Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha. Sonakshi who has had a lucky run through the box office hopes to do the magic again, also for Ajay Devgan, he hasn't had a bad outing in the recent past, most of his movies have been block busters and have also been critically acclaimed for his performance as the lead. 

The trailer also showcases Sanjay Dutt as the angry sardar, who is pairing up with Juhi Chawla. Although the screen space for Juhi and Sonakshi is much low in the trailer, it still shows a funny side of what is to happen on screen. 

SOS will also have a cameo done by Salman Khan, the 'Dabaang' star has been said to do this for friendship and hasn't asked for remuneration for the promo he did. So that will be a plus. For the rest, we will have to wait on further glimpses from SOS - do watch out our video channel for more!

Kareena To Be Prime Minister for Jha

This will be as unique as what Katrina had done in Rajneeti. The latest news is that Kareena has been offered the role of a politician in the movie sequel of 'Rajneeti'. The movie is still on tables but the inclusion of Ajay Devgan to the crew has made this opening possible for Kareena.

The movie Rajneeti, had changed the image of Katrina Kaif as an actress, who used to do bubbly or mostly romantic roles to a serious one and she had handled it quite stunning way. Now it is said that the movie will see Kareena Kapoor playing the prime minister.

A source says "Kareena Kapoor will be seen playing the Prime Minister of India in Prakash Jha’s political sequel. The film is supposed to go on floors by the end of the year, and apparently it was Ajay who suggested that Kareena should play the role. Jha immediately agreed, and after Omkara, it will be her first major performance-oriented role, where she would also be de-glamourised."

We wonder where Katrina will fill in if it is Kareena playing the master role!

After Kareena had moved out of 'Ram-Leela', Sanjay Bhansali movie, she has now said to have given dates to three other movies for the 150 days that she had set aside for Bhansali. The manager of Kareena says that it was always wise to work on three projects in 150 days than to do a single movie.

The other movie that is on floor is Punit Malhotra's movie, which is being produced by Karan Johar and will see Imran Khan once again casted opposite Kareena after 'Ek Main Aur Ek Tu'. A source close to Karan revealed, "She has given preference to Punit's film simply because of Karan. Karan, Punit and Kareena met at the Dharma Productions office in Khar recently. By the end of the lengthy discussion, Karan prevailed upon her and Kareena was convinced about the project."

So finally the 'Heroine' does do away with the vast canvas of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. We wonder who is gonna fill in the space? Anushka Sharma's luck will run again?

Ajay IN Akshay OUT

According to the latest reports the fifth season of the television reality show 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' will not be hosted by Mr. Khiladi Akshay Kumar.

The show will be hosted by another action hero Ajay Devgn. It is said that actor Akshay Kumar turned down the show and has cited both professional and personal reasons for opting out. One reason being that his wife Twinkle is expecting their second child around the same time of the show. However Akshay won't be seen in Season 5.

A source said that, "Akshay informed the channel and the producers of the show that he would be unable to play the host of the show which deals with stunts. Akshay who has been the anchor for the first and the third season was sure to be retained. However, since he is expecting his second baby in September, he wants to be close to his wife Twinkle."

There were buzz of John Abraham or Ajay Devgn to take over the show and replace Akshay Kumar but the channel has finalized in on Ajay Devgn. Actor John Abraham is busy shooting back to back for Shootout At Wadala, Race 2, Shoojit Sircar's next and Farah Khan's Happy New Year.

So Ajay Devgn will be the next bollywood star seen on Color's channel as it already has Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Madhuri Dixit Nene as a part of Colors. And Ajay’s entry. 

Finally the makers of Khatron Ke Khiladi signed Ajay who is known for his action image.

Prachi's Wish and Asin's Desire

Prachi Desai, who has been appreciated for the talent and the way she portrays her role right through her first movie still has a desire that hasn't worked her way. That is to pair with Ajay Devgan, although she had `Once Upon A Time In Mumbai`, she was paired with Emraan Hashmi instead of Ajay. She still speaks this desire openly,

"I have done two films with him (Ajay), but have not been paired with him. In my next film, I would like to be paired with him," she said in an interview. The 25-year-old actress now joins back Ajay in his comedy flick 'Bol Bachchan, which hits the screens on July 6th.


"The first time I met Ajay was on the sets of 'Once Upon A Time...' When Ajay walks in, there is so much silence on the set. His aura and personality is so intimidating but at the same time, as a person, he is so calm. I think, to be around him is so wonderful. I am not scared of him, but there is this respect I have for him which makes me sober down in front of him," she added.

Director Rohit Shetty's Bol Bachchan is Prachi's first comedy and it took her a few days to settle down.

"For me, it was a very different set up. The kind of films which I have done are serious...As far as work is concerned, I feel Rohit Shetty is a director with a magic wand," she said.

She also said to be enjoying the time she had with her lead actors : "In comedy, you cannot get your timings wrong. Also, people who are saying the lines, are not supposed to think it's funny. They just have to say it like normal lines. You have to have a certain understanding about what tone you have to catch and change it from scene to scene," she said

"I learned a lot from watching Abhishek and Ajay. When Abhishek had these hilarious lines, he just had to keep a straight face and say it. Ajay had to talk wrong English and he did it convincingly. It is the toughest thing to do," the actress added.

Asin Speaks on her comedy run!

While Asin, who is having a good run at the box office with her comedy flicks, says that she isn't deliberately picking up the roles. But these just happened on its own, "It is just a coincidence that Ready, Housefull 2 and Bol Bachchan have come back-to-back. It is not that I have special affinity towards them that I end up choosing them. It is not that I want to do only comedy or I have affinity for comedy or that I want to prove myself in comedy," Asin told PTI.


"Coincidentally comedies have come my way but it is not that I have consciously chosen them. I am quite comfortable with comedy and I like doing it, especially when I have great co-stars, it's fun to do and is entertaining," she adds.

But she added that she doesn't want to be tied to the comedy genre, "I will like to try other genres and characters but within the commercial format only. I am ok with drama or romantic comedies," Asin said.

"I have a soft corner for rom-com. But as of now nothing interesting in this format has come my way," she added. She also expressed her desire to work with Shah Rukh Khan, now that she has completed her movies with other Khan's.

She clarified that she hasn't been approached for 'Chennai Express' the movie inspired from Chetan Bhagat's Two states. "I don't know, you will have to ask the makers about it. Even I am hearing rumours about it. I have read Two States and I found it very entertaining. Lot of people told me it would be nice if I play that role because of south culture. But the makers haven't approached me yet." says the actress.

Asin has been working with the top notch actors till now but she said if right kind of script works, then she is more than happy to pair up with a younger star. Asin who is completing her first schedule of 'Khiladi 786' with Akshay Kumar is eagerly waiting on the release of 'Bol Bachchan'.

Abhishek mobbed by girls - Gets out clean!

Abhishek Bachchan who is busy with his schedule has been handling all those genres which hasn't been touched by him in a long time. The latest waiting on release is the comedy flick 'Bol Bachchan' which handles the comedy in a different track, being the remake of an yester year flick 'Golmaal' the movie still provides plenty of new experiences. 

“The movie had far too many draws for me. Working with Rohit (Shetty) and AJ (Ajay Devgn) ; trying a different brand of comedy; the role itself, everything’s exciting,” says the actor, as he talks about what drew him to the film.

Abhishek also plays in a dual role in the movie, but this isn't a double role as per the actor and its two different situations of the character.  Abhishek says that he’s not moulded it on Amol Palekar of the original Golmaal at all.

“It’s the concept that’s inspired by the film, not characters, so it’s going to be a different take altogether,” he adds about his roles in the situational comedy.

The actor also insists that having worked with both Rohit and Ajay earlier too, it was great fun on the sets. “Working with AJ is always a pleasure. He’s a fantastic actor,” says Abhishek of his co-star. With his current schedule he has a short time to spend with his family and the actor do miss his daughter back home. 

 “Sure I do, like any other dad, but then work is important too and not interchangeable,” adds Abhishek. As for life changing after fatherhood, the actor says that it’s changed but not taken a 360 degree turn for sure. “I still come back home to my family and look forward to it, and now I have one more person waiting for me. Also yes, the responsibilities have shot up as I am now responsible for Aaradhya too,” he explains.

Recently on promotions, Abhishek was mobbed by a group of female fans who were asking for photographs and autographs. But as time went on the questions went too personal, but as per sources, Abhishek was game for it and handled the questions on his family and wife quite sensibly and evaded a controversy!

Ajay to be seen in Satyagraha

Buzz is that actor Ajay Devgan will be seen working with Prakash Jha on two new projects.

Earlier there were rumours that Ajay Devgn was upset with Prakash Jha for offering him a half-baked role in the movie Raajneeti. Apart from that it was even said that the Aarakshan director wanted his favourite actor to play Saif Ali Khan’s role in the reservation system-driven drama. But Ajay wasn’t too impressed with the role. Now it seems as if the two have forgotten all the issues and are working on two new assignments together. 

Ajay Devgan said that, "Prakash Jha picks up a realistic idea and makes it very engaging and entertaining. There are other filmmakers who pick up ideas, but make it very boring."

He added that, "I am doing a film with him (Jha) called Satyagraha, it's very entertaining. It's not like I will not do such (serious) films, but it has to be entertaining, they can't be a documentary."

Ajay Devgan who is more known as the action hero is now seen in many comedy movies. When asked about the same Ajay Devgan said that, "If the audience spends money on a movie, they want to get entertained. They don't want to get educated. Entertainment can be comedy or action. This is the bottom line."

He added, "If your film has done a Rs.100 crore business, people have seen it. You can't make a fool of the audience. Whatever the audiences like, you will have to give them."

Actor Ajay Devgan was seen in comdey flicks like Rohit Shetty's Golmaal: Fun Unlimited and Golmaal Returns, and Bol Bachchan.

The movie Satyagraha is said to be based on social activist Anna Hazare's campaign. 

Ajay Devgan and Prakash Jha will also start working on a sequel to GangaaJal after finishing Satyagraha.

Ajay Devgan & Kajol to make a film against female foeticide

Buzz is that Ajay Devgn and Kajol will be coming together for a short film. The topic for the short film will be female foeticide.

Ajay and Kajol have associated themselves with the Maharashtra government's Save the Girl Child campaign against female foeticide. The couple had accepted the responsibility last year. The film will be made as part of Maharashtra government's initiative to curb the issue. After Ajay and Kajol became brand ambassadors for Save the Girl Child campaign making the film was always part of the plan but things did not work out. But now the everything is being planned and the movie will be out very soon. 

Ajay Devgn said that, "We are working on the script at the moment and should be ready to roll it within a month or so. Both Kajol and I will be part of this, and we will speak about female foeticide. We are working on the script right now. Shooting should start in a month. Kajol and I will speak against female foeticide"

Recently, actor Aamir Khan had raised the topic of female foeticide in the first episode of his TV show Satyamev Jayate. After which a number of cases of female foeticide recently came to light from Beed, Solapur and Latur districts of Maharashtra. When Ajay was asked if he'd get Aamir Khan or other actors to also talk about the issue, he said that it's too soon to confirm that, but it would be a "good idea" to do so. The film will be roughly three minutes long.

Kajol said that, "We believe in the cause and hence we have taken it up. Most importantly, we really feel that we can make a difference."

Salman to shoot for item number in SOS in July

Bollywood super star Salman Khan will shoot for the item number for his friend Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardar by the end of July.

Ashwani Dheer, the film director said that, "We shot for one scene with Salman recently. But he will be doing the song by the end of July."

He added that, "Presently we are shooting in Mumbai and we have almost finished some portion of the shooting in Patiala."

It is said that Salman Khan will not charge any fees for the item number. He will be seen shaking his leg in Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardar entirely on a friendly basis and he will not charge Ajay Devgn a penny. Previously, actor Ajay Devgn had also done a cameo in Salman Khan's super hit movie Ready which was released in the year 2011.

Son Of Sardar is an upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Ashwani Dhir, and produced by Ajay Devgn's home production house. The film features Ajay Devgn, Juhi Chawla, Mukul Dev, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The distribution rights of the movie are bought by UTV Pictures. The film is reportedly inspired from the Telugu film Maryada Ramanna. The film is scheduled for release on November 30, 2012.

Khiladi to kick after Ajay and SRK

In true friendship gesture, Akshay Kumar really shows how real a friend he is to Ajay Devgan and Shah Rukh Khan. The recent event happened after the announcement of his movie, yet another 'Khiladi' series named 'Khiladi 786', the movie was scheduled to be released during Diwali. But the actor has now decided to postpone the release. And the reasons stated is friendship! yes, it is for the fact that he doesn't want his movie to conflict with Ajay Devgan's 'Son Of Sardar' and Shah Rukh Khan's Yash Raj directed movie (still unnamed! huh!). 

The recent patch ups with SRK and his long ending friendship with Ajay Devgan is the sole reason why he wouldn't want to compete with the two (Or is it another marketting tactics!). But the later part of the story will reveal that its truly friendship. It is said that Son Of Sardar was a title that Akshay Kumar had in mind and he was working on a script to make the movie, he is also said to have registered his own banner for the movie named 'Hari Om Productions'. But this is the time when Ajay announced his movie, later it is said that Ajay had visited Akshay on the sets of 'Rowdy Rathore' and Akshay did not cause a mess and readily agreed with a handshake. So when Ajay said that he is releasing his movie by Diwali 2012, he just postponed his movie to avoid clashes. That's Akshay!

Akshay Kumar who is currently in busy promotions of 'Rowdy Rathore' his action flick after a long comedy break. He also has the movie Joker in his list, whose promotions will be starting as soon as RR releases. 

"Ajay can't stop raving about Akshay's touching gesture of letting go of the title. In fact, it was also on his request that Akshay postponed the release of Khiladi 786," added the source.

Khiladi is co-produced by Singer/Music Director/Actor (did we miss anything?) Himesh Reshammiya, and ask if he did feel bad about postponing the movie, its 'NO' because he is perfectly cool about it as SOS by Ajay Devgan is having his music. So to avoid confusion between songs - he might have suggested postponing the movie himself! 

The Akshay Kumar starrer will be directed by debutante Ashish R Mohan under HR Musik, Eros International Media Ltd and Hari Om Entertainment Co.

Bol Bachchan : AB does double role

Bol Bachchan's first looks are tough and amazingly colorful. Rohit Shetty is again the man behind the Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan starrer. Besides the two rocking stars, the film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Asin and Prachi Desai in lead roles. BB directed by Rohit Shetty is inspired by the 1979 comic flick, Golmaal and is slated to release on July 6, 2012. 

The movie will get its color with Amitabh Bachchan, who appears in a cameo for the movie. The movie is said to be a comic flick and the two new looks of Abhishek Bachchan is much better than his 'idea mobile' ads ;-). And the majestic look of Ajay just adds character to the poster. The movie is presented by Fox Star Studios, and co-produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms and Shree Ashtavinayak LFS Infra Ltd., 

The comic flick will be much awaited as Rohit Shetty has given himself a big space in the industry for the comic and action sequences that he does.

Ajay and Kangana's cold war

Kangna Ranaut and Ajay Devgn were good friends until things went wrong during the shoot of the movie 'Rascals'. After that Kangna was deliberatly kept out of promotions of 'Rascals'. The same even continued during the filming of their upcoming movie 'Tezz'. 

It is said that Ajay kept a safe distance from Kangana as soon as he got to know that Kangna was part of Tezz.

With Tezz all set to release soon, they have been going all out for the promotional activities. At a recent promotional event for 'Tezz', Ajay went all out praising co-star Sameera Reddy and even called her the real action heroine of the film. He thanked everyone from the cast and crew but didn't mention Kangna's name even once. Ajay and Kangna didn’t even exchange glances when they came together on the stage.

A source said that, “While Ajay praised Sameera (Reddy) for the action sequences she has done and thanked Anil, Priyan and Ratan for the wonderful experience of working in the film, he didn’t mention Kang’s name even once. More so since they’re paired together and the crux of the story exists solely on the circumstances their on-screen characters face. And Kangna was so upset with this ignorance that she decided to avoid Ajay by not accompanying the cast on promotional tours.” 

He added that, “So much so that even producer Ratan Jain was worried how the ‘ignorance is bliss’ stance between his lead pair would shift the focus away from the music launch.”

Ajay Devgn said that this even though Kangana had a bigger role to play in the movie as compared to Sameera. After which Kangna was so upset that she decided not to accompany the starcast for promoting the movie. How long will this cold war go on between the two actors ???

Tezz is an upcoming Hindi action thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. The film features Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Boman Irani, Kangna Ranaut, Sameera Reddy, Zayed Khan and Mohanlal in lead roles. It is expected to it theaters on 27 April, 2012. Tezz was earlier titled "Bullet Train". The official trailer was released on January 4, 2012.

Ajay Devgn invest in power project

Ajay Devgn has just become a part of a very important power project that has achievd completion in Gujarat. The actor has invested in a state of the art solar park.

He said that this joint venture that will ensure the installation of 600MW of solar power plants.

The panel was headed by Mr. Ramakant J. Tibrewala of the ROHA Group, who congratulated the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, for his support to the project. The state-of-the-art Solar Park has 600 MW of Solar Power Plants installed in it, which will ensure generation of a great deal of solar energy, and as Ajay put it, “Green power, clean power”, in years to come.

A source said that, "Ajay has always believed in eco-friendly processes and he is keen to introduce the concept in filmmaking too, where solar powered generators can be used for electricity on sets, thus saving power. He has always believed in supporting such causes, be it at home or on sets. So, this was more than just a business venture for him.” he added, “Though Ajay doesn’t tom-tom about it, he’s always looking at ways to make everything as eco-friendly as possible. Even at home, simple things like not wasting electricity, switching off lights when not required, is the norm.” 

Ajay, along with his long time accomplice, Bollywood producer Kumar Mangat, and two others, announced the completion of a 25 MW Solar Plant in Charanaka, Patan District, Gujarat.

Ajay Devgn also expressed his keenness to venture into similar projects in other states. The actor is currently shooting for Son of Sardar (SOS) in Punjab.

Will Ajay Devgn star in Singham sequel ?

It is said that actor Ajay Devgn might play the lead in singham sequel.

A source said that, ''Though it is still way too early to make any declarations, there are strong indications that Ajay would feature in the film's sequel.'' 

He added, ''This stems from thefact that Surya, who had featured in the original Tamil version SINGHAM, is now starting shoot of the sequel in a few weeks from now. While Hansika Motwani would be one of the leading ladies, there are talks of Anushka Shetty coming on board as well. Meanwhile there are strong feelers that Ajay would be an obvious choice for the Hindi remake since he took the subject to an altogether different level by bringing it on an all-India level.''

Singham is an Indian action film which was released on 22 July 2011, directed by Rohit Shetty starring Ajay Devgn, Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj in lead roles. It is a remake of the 2010 Tamil film Singam featuring Suriya and Anushka Shetty. The film is produced by Reliance Entertainment, which co-produced the original Tamil movie. The movie was a super duper hit and became one of the highest grossing movies of 2011. The movie crossed the 100 crore mark and bagged 140 crore.

''Moreover there are other factors to be considered as well,'' said a source and added, "Reliance had backed Hindi version of SINGHAM while Rohit Shetty had directed it. However there were issues that had cropped between the two during making of the film. It would be a challenge to have all three players (Ajay, Rohit and Reliance) together again.'' 

Rohit Shetty did not say anything regarding the sequel of the movie.

The movie won't release before next year because the tamil version itself won't be releasing before the end of the year.

Mukul Dev part of Son of Sardar

Actor Mukul Dev who is currently shooting in Punjab for the multi-starrer "Sons Of Sardar" (SOS) said, "SON OF SARDAR is about two warring/feuding Sardar families. However the situation has been humorously handled." The actor will be seen playing a Sardar in two of his upcoming projects. 

Mukul even informed that he was essaying an important role in the film, and that the shooting of SON OF SARDAR would take place in and around Chandigarh, and in the royal town of Patiala.

Mukul Dev said, "SOS" is a typical out-an-out comedy, where I play Sanjay Dutt's brother and Ajay Devgn plays our long lost family enemy. After that I'll start working on "Tukka Fit", in which I'm again playing a greedy Jat." He added, "Comedy has given me greater acceptance amongst the audience."

The actor was seen in "Yamla Pagla Deewana" as a Jat and even in  "Chaar Din Ki Chandani" as a royal Rajput. Mukul Dev will be seen playing a Jat in "SOS" as well.

He said, "I don't mind that image as long as I get good offers. Yes, 2-3 of my movies have me playing a Sikh/ Jat, but apart from that, I have other good projects where I have a lot of scope to showcase my talent like "Afratafri" with Govinda and Ram Gopal Varma's "Bezwada Rowdies." 

Son Of Sardar is an upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Ashwani Dhir, and produced by Ajay Devgn's home production house. The film features Ajay Devgn, Juhi Chawla, Mukul Dev, Vindoo Singh, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The distribution rights of the movie are bought by UTV Pictures. The film is reportedly inspired from the Telugu film Maryada Ramanna. The film is scheduled for release on November 30, 2012.

Fatal accident occurs on sets of Son Of Sardar

Actor Ajay Devgan and his team are shooting for his upcoming movie Son of Sardar directed by Ashwini Dheer in Patiala. The movie has been in news since the shoot has started. 

First Ajay Devgn and Arjan Bajwa were down with stomach infection and now a fatal incident occured on the sets of Son of Sardar. 

One of the crew members lost his life. A light man named Machinder Arvel aka Bala, got electrocuted just a few metres away, from where Devgn was shooting for the film. While . On Monday, when Ajay Devgan and Mukul Dev were getting ready for their shot and light man Machinder Arvel ,Bipin Yadav and others were setting up the lights, a high voltage wire fell on them. Machinder died on the spot and Bipin Yadav, another light man, is currently in the ICU.

Ajay Devgan posted on twitter, "Its a sad day 2day bcoz during the shoot 2day we lost 1 of our men. Mourning his loss. D team has taken a big hit. Nothing can compensate his loss an my heart goes out to his family. We will do whatever we can to support them (sic)."

Dharmesh Tiwari, FWICE's President expressed serious concern over the incidents. Ganesh Khandane (Bala's brother-in-law and also a light man by profession) said that his sister and he are deeply shocked by the incident. He added that they are grateful to FWICE that his brother's body is being flown to Mumbai. Even though they are clueless about what to do after this unfortunate incident, they are planning to demand compensation from Ajay Devgn. 

Prem Singh Thakur (Vice Chairman of the Union), explained that a hi-voltage 11,000 Watts line was running overhead, just above the streamer. When the streamer was being raised, the hi-voltage line lifted it to a great height, much towards itself. He added that the incident took place when the light men were trying to raise a streamer so as to increase the intensity of light that would fall on the faces of actors Ajay Devgn and Mukul Dev. 

Meanwhile not only Ajay but co-stars of the film (Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and others) have decided to offer compensation to help Machinder's family in Mumbai. The shooting was called off for a day after the accicdent and resumed on the next day.
