The Raichand's - Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum
Who could forget the amazing starcast of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum? The star studded movie with Hrithik and Kareena pair. The King Khan with his star pair Kajol and the amazing Amitabh Bachchan with his real life wife Jaya Bachchan! The Raichand family movie was received with both hands through out the world. The movie was a super hit not only in India but across the world. It collected $20 million across the world!
Not only did it end there, the movie went to be the first to be released in Germany and it was such a hit there that later it got dubbed in German too. The movie also grabbed many awards in India giving Kajol the best actress award, Jaya Bachchan the best supporting actress award, Karan Johar for the dialogues, Sharmishta Roy for the art direction and Best Scene by Filmfare. Further it gave IIFA awards for Sonu Nigam for best singer and Jaya Bachchan for the best supporting cast.It has been a decade since Raichand's have made an impact in the industry. There has been news that Karan is seriously thinking about the release of a sequel for the movie. This was supported by Amitabh Bachchan and he mentioned on his blog that it will be great to see what happened of the Raichand brothers and family emotions through the movie. Karan first considered the movie to be out of context for the current generation but he is now serious about it as Amit ji is behind him.
He also confirmed that it wont be tough on him as he is friends with the starcast as he were 10 years earlier. So we hope we see the magic again!
