Salman Khan invest in yatra.com

Bollywood actor Salman Khan will now be the brand ambassador of yatra.com. Salman has also invested in the online travel portal Yatra.com. He will now be seen as the face of its new marketing campaign in India and the US.

Pratik Mazumder, head of marketing and strategic alliance said, “This could be first instance where a Bollywood star is picking up a stake in the brand he is representing.”

Sharat Dhall, president of yatra.com said, “Since we are targeting customers in smaller towns, Salman Khan is a great fit considering his mass appeal across the country.”

Salman said, "I am really excited about my association with Yatra.com. This is not a normal brand association, where I am there just for face value. With Yatra, I am also now a shareholder." He added, "I have immense confidence on the brand and am hopeful that the association will be beneficial for the both of us."

The association will strengthen the company's connect with the masses and increase the brand's recall value in tier-II and III towns.

Salman Khan's NGO, Being Human will also benefit from this association. Yatra.com will contribute a small token amount to the NGO 'Being Human' every time a transaction takes place on their website. The company will also sell Being Human merchandise on its website which again will be contributed to the NGO.

Dhruv Shringi CEO and co-founder Yatra.com said, "We have always wanted expand to newer mass markets and associating with Salman would enable us to do the same."

The new marketing campaign of yatra.com will be launched in April.
