Amitabh Bachchan replaces Madhuri

Buzz is that Amitabh Bachchan will replace Madhuri Dixit as the Narrator of Life Ok channel.

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan will play a completely new role on the small screen. It is said that Amitabh Bachchan was Life Ok's first choice as the narrator, but the channel had to sign Madhuri Dixit as the narrator because Big B had prior commitments. 

And now that Madhuri Dixit's one year contract as Life Ok's Narrator is about to end, the channel is planning to take Amitabh Bachchan to play the new Narrator. Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen hosting the sixth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Life OK is Star India's new general entertainment channel. The channel launched in December last year.

Life OK general manager Ajit Thakur said that, "Our association with Madhuri Dixit as the channel's sutradhar (narrator) will end in another month's time. The contract was for six months."

Ajit Thakur said that, the channel has been watched by 40 crore Indians since it has gone on air.

When Ajit Thakur was asked about revenue generation he said the channel is exploring digital media besides the conventional TV format. He said that, "We want to provide an opportunity to our advertisers to be a part of our campaigns and reach out to audience in a much larger way. By doing this we want to provide more value for money to them."

He added that, "We had engaged Idea for one of our campaigns for Sach Ka Saamna serial."

The list of the channel advertisers include Idea, HUL, P&G, PepsiCo, Coca Cola, Ghari detergent, P C Jewellers, Wildstone deodrants and Vicco.
