ARR to judging Indian Idol 6?

No, it isn't finalized, but the rumors about this is quite strong. With Indian Idol 6, the Sony Television is trying its best to make the event a multi mega one. The rumors are that the channel producers are trying to bring out the best of judges and the sets to make this an extravagance. The ads of Indian Idol are already catching up the attention of many and the expectations are high on Indian Idol this season. This is the reason why the producers have thought to bring in the Maestro.

Indian Idol tries to catch up with its western version and has stuck to the format that has been followed in the Western part of the world. But this time the production team is planning to bring in few changes which includes four judges instead of the usual three, Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant. And this is where A. R. Rahman is to fill in the slot. 

The producers have asked music maestro AR Rahman to join the team and are awaiting his response. A source close reveals, “Rahman has been approached but he hasn’t reverted. Indian Idol 6 will begin next month with the auditions that will air for almost a month. 

If Rahman comes on board, then he will be seen in the Gala round (second round of selections).” Rumours are that if Rahman declines the offer due to his busy schedule, then the team will approach other big names from the music industry. 

The last TV judging by A R Rahman was for V channel - Super Singer and then we had a new singer born through the competition - Naresh Iyer, we hope if ARR is on board, we might see another star rise with the blessings of great Maestro.
