Recently, in the movie Vicky Donor, actor Ayushman Khurrana got married in Bengali style on screen. Now its Ranbir Kapoor's turn. But Ranbir goes a step futher. He will be having his own swayamvar.
Director Anurag Basu said that, “This is a fun wedding sequence. But I can't reveal what is happening here. All I can say is that it's a Bengali wedding and I enjoyed making Ranbir enact the role of a young Bengali man.”
It will be the first time that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen getting married on-screen. A source said that, “He was very excited. This was his first wedding sequence for a film. Anurag is a Bengali and he was very particular about Ranbir's look. The costumes had to be perfect to the smallest detail. Priyanka and Ileana were also present on the sets that day. But I'm not too sure which actress he gets married to. It is a mystery.”
For the swayamvar sequence Ranbir is dressed as a traditional Bengali groom - complete with dhoti, kurta and the topor.
In the film Barfi which is produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Ranbir plays a deaf and mute Bengali and Priyanka essays the role of an autistic girl. And actress Ileana D Cruz is the other main lead in the film.
