Shilpa Shetty blessed with a baby boy

Just weeks after the baby shower organised by Shamita Shetty, bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty gave birth to a baby boy.

Shilpa delivered her first child on Monday morning at the Hinduja Healthcare boutique hospital in Khar. The actress had gone to the hospital for a routine check-up, but was admitted immediately as her contractions began. Shilpa's husband Raj was beside her during labour.

Raj Kundra tweeted, “God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine. I am thrilled to bits! A big thank you to my wife @TheShilpaShetty for the bestest gift ever, Dr Kiran Cohelo and all the staff at Hinduja Hospital! Thank you all for your love and wishes. Both mum and baby K are resting. Our parents now turn grandparents.” (sic) 

Shilpa Shetty tweeted, "Can't believe am a mother now! Ecstatic is an understatement. Thank you so much for all the good wishes and love all of you have bestowed us and Baby K."

People have already started calling the newborn by various names but the couple have yet to decide on a name. Raj Kundra said that, "People are calling him little Raj, someone is calling him baby K and various other names, but we have not given him any name yet."

He added, "I have told my mother-in-law to pick an alphabet as she knows about astrology. So, whatever alphabet she gives us, we will decide the name accordingly. For now, we will first go home when the doctors discharge Shilpa. She will rest first and then we will decide."

Sunanda Shetty, Shilpa Shetty's mother said that, “The baby is beautiful, lovely. Shilpa is doing well too. We are absolutely delighted to be grandparents now.”

Actress Shilpa Shetty got married to a London-based businessman Raj Kundra in November 2009.

Most of the Bollywood celebrities congratulated the new mommy and dadddy on twitter.
