Good news for Salman’s fans, now you can come face to face with your favourite Dabang hero! The famous wax museum, Madame Tussauds, in New York will be unveiling Bollywood actor Salman Khan's wax statue on August 2. The Chulbul Khan will join Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan at the museum’s ‘Bollywood Zone’. Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madame Tussauds New York said "Salman Khan is one of Bollywood's most enduring and recognizable stars. Bollywood exploded on the American pop culture scene several years ago and has become one of our most exciting entertainment categories".

Due to the Star’s popularity overseas, numerous requests were sent by the fans to install Salman’s statue.  The figure was created on loan for three months from Madame Tussauds London and was launched in January 2008. Khan had beaten 9 other Indian stars - including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Lata Mangeshkar and Abhishek Bachchan, to be voted as the ‘Next Bollywood Star’ to get a wax likeness. Over 10,000 people had voted for the ‘Next Bollywood Star’ in a public poll in 2007. Khan himself had chosen and given his black top and denim jeans for this wax statue.

Madame Tussauds is a wax museum in London with branches in a number of major cities like in Amsterdam, Bangkok, Berlin, Blackpool, Dubai, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Las Vegas, New York City, Shanghai, Sydney, Vienna and Washington D.C. It basically features prominent figures in its exhibits and are categorized in the following: Political Leaders, Historical Figures, Cultural Figures, Pop Stars, Television Stars, Sports Stars, World Leaders, and Hollywood Stars.

The Bollywood Zone of New York's museum is brightly coloured and includes a replica of one of the Seven Wonders of the World -"Taj Mahal". The museum also includes videos of authentic Indian dancers and a photo area where visitors can pose with their favourite Bollywood stars. Sources say that Madame Tassauds plan to expand the area to include figures of more famous Bollywood stars.
