Kareena Takes a dig at rival Katrina Kaif

Ever since the theatrical trailer of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine has been released everyone is talking about Kareena Kapoor. But what seem to be more interesting than the trailer are the rumours that are doing the rounds in the industry. If what seems to be true, news of Kareena taking a dig at Katrina Kaif are spreading like fire!  Sources say, the Chammak chalo said to a journalist that some actress in the film industry make name and fame riding piggyback on their boyfriend. She also went on to say that the passport of the actress should be checked for name, age and country of origin. 

Wait! Before raising your eyebrows just let me tell you that it’s not Kareena but Madhur who has managed these dialogues for his movie Heroine!  Phew! Bhandarkar is known for the one-liners in his movie and this is also a part of it.  The dialogues are the reply to a journalist by Mahi Arora, the character played by Bebo in the movie. After listening to these dialogues there is no doubt you could think of only one actress to relate them to!  Sources say Kareena was reluctant to say these lines but Madhur convinced her saying that it’s not about a specific person but about those several aspiring actresses who come to India to try their luck in films.

At one place Kareena takes a dig at the media too, where she says, “Aap media waalon ko film scripts likhnee chahiye. Heroine ne gadi lee toh businessman ne gift kar di, diamond khareeda toh engagement ho gayi, hospital gayi checkup ke liye toh abortion ho gaya, LA gayi toh plastic surgery karva lee, or God forbid Dubai gayi toh uska rate card bann jata hai.”

Heroine is set to be released on September 12. The movie is about a Bollywood actress, her journey to stardom, her success and her failures. Kareena Kapoor plays the main lead. The film also casts Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda, who play the role of actor and cricketer respectively.

Originally the first choice for her role, Bebo was hesitant to take on the project when Bhandarkar approached her with the film's brief initial idea. She explained reservations about the criticism her character might evoke as well as the intimate sequences with several of her co-stars, and was subsequently replaced by Aishwarya Rai. Several days after production began, Rai left the film due to her pregnancy, and Bhandarkar re-approached Kapoor with the film. Once the director reinforced his faith in her, she agreed to do the film when she was handed the completed script. Prior to being cast in Heroine, Bhandarkar approached Kapoor with Page 3 and Corporate, both of which she could not do due to prior commitments. Kareena, who described her character as being "bipolar and schizophrenic", refrained from taking on any other projects as she found Heroine to be "very aggressive and tiring".

Well, Kareena surely doesn’t seem to be complaining after getting such rave reviews for her movie’s trailer. But what about the trouble she might face after saying such dialogues? Till now Katrina has never retaliated to the comments of other actresses on her. So will she keep mum this time too? Bebo was always in good relations with Salman. Wonder how Sallu Bhai will react to this?!
