A viral video showing a heated exchange with a reporter at a press conference, where she says she will not lie about Indian society's problems, even if it is in front of the foreign press, has made Mallika a hero on the Internet.

The Q&A that took place at the launch of her reality show, is now being perceived and presented as a verbal slugfest between Mallika and the reporter, in which the actress ‘apparently‘ gets the better of the media, due to her frank and honest remarks.

The original interview in question; was given by Mallika Sherawat, a few months back to an international magazine.

Mallika spoke about many burning issues such as rape, female feticide and honour killing. And while she did make some rather relevant points about the double standards that exist with regards to many issues concerning women in India; she also received some flak for painting a rather grim picture of the country on an international platform.
