The new movie version of Vaikom Mohammed Basheer 'Balyakalasakhi' or the childhood companion is ready to hit the big screens. This is the first official teaser of the movie starring Mammootty, Isha Talwar, Meena, Biju Menon in lead roles. The romantic tragedy had created waves when the great writer Basheer had released the book originally published in 1944.
The epic was repeated in the 1967 movie and it is getting a new makeover with the 2014 edition of Mammootty's Balyakalasakhi. The story is about a couple Majeed and Suhra who are in love with each other from childhood. Mammootty plays the lead role as Majeed and Isha Talwar will portray Suhra in the movie.
Bengali actor Parambrata Chatterjee, who came to the limelight after starring in Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani, will do a major role. Actress Seema Biswas has also been roped in for the film, which will also have actors Biju Menon, KPAC Lalitha and Mamukoya in various roles.
Directed by Pramod Payyannur the movie is set to release on February 12th, 2014. The movie will also see as much as 105 debutants, we will have to see the screens to understand how effective is the new interpretation of the story.
