The whole bollywood fraternity was present at Malabar Hill Home to pay homage to the veteran actor and greater personality Mr. Shammi Kapoor. The cremation of the great actor was held at his residence Malabar Hill Home, at Mumbai. King Khan had rushed into the residence on hearing the news on late evening on Sunday, also the ceremony was also made special by the presence of actors like Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Rani Mukherjee, Kajol and sister Tanisha, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and many other personalities. The list also included Industrialist Anil Ambani also had visited the 79 year old actor. The actor was suffering from renal problems and failure of Kidneys was mentioned as the cause of death.
The actor had last shared screen space with his grandson Ranbir Kapoor and the movie 'Rockstar' is still underway.
The actor was known for his talents in acting as well as for the person who he was. The personality of this actor was much celebrated one, the whole Bollywood agrees to this fact. The actor was special for his talents and his carefree and flamboyant attitude towards movies. He had introduced the rock-n-roll style of dance to the industry and this was one of the greatest trends to have happened. The actor did his debut in the movie Jeevan Jyoti and was much appreciated for his roles in :

He had received the best actor award from Filmfare for his movie Bramhachari and was also awarded best supporting actor in his role for vidhaata.
