It's going to be Aamir V/s Shahrukh this Diwali

In : |

Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan's films are set to clash once again this Diwali. Aamir Khan's Talaash the psychological thriller co-starring Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor by Reema Kagti which was going to release on 1st June, 2012 has postponed its release date to November because he wants to concentrate on his debut television show Satyamev Jayate for the coming few months and Shahrukh Khan's love story produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Yash Chopra himself will also release during Diwali.

Ritesh Sidhwani co-producer of Talaash said, “The film’s release has been postponed due to delay in the TV show, which was earlier supposed to go off-air end May but is now going off-air end June. If we had stuck to the original plan, the timings would have seriously clashed. Also, it’s Aamir’s next big film after 3 Idiots and he needs to be around at every step. Besides, Aamir is very particular about getting time between two projects. Later on, he is committed to Dhoom 3 so the best decision was to release Talaash end November or first week December.”

SRK’s film will make it to the theatres around mid Novembera and Aamir’s film will release on November 30.

So that means every person who goes to watch the Shahrukh's film will be greeted with banners and trailers promoting Aamir Khan's film just the way it happened four years back when Shahrukh’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi  released on December 14, while Aamir’s Ghajini released two weeks later on December 28. All those who came to watch RNBDJ were greeted with ushers sporting Aamir’s trademark haircut from Ghajini. Aamir’s trailers were also screened during SRK’s film. And Ghajini’s box office collections were much higher than that of RNBDJ.

Its said that YRF wont let it happen again since its Yash Raj's comeback directional venture and even Aamir Khan shares a special relationship with YRF because of Dhoom 3 and it wouldn't be a surprise to us if the production house juggle things around or change the date of their own film. Even YRF had changed the release date of their Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif-starrer Ek Tha Tiger from June 1 to Eid on Aamir's request, as he wanted to release Talaash on that date. Seems as if it's time he returned the favour.

We wonder who will win this time......
