Sujoy Gosh who is all geared up for his upcoming movie 'Kahaani' feels that it was a boon to work with Vidya Balan, and mentioned that she did not just act according to his words, but has added her own magic to the role she is performing. In the movie, Vidya plays the role of a pregnant NRI woman who arrives at Kolkatta in search of her missing husband.
"'Kahaani' is more of Vidya's baby than mine today. She had a certain belief in the film and today she is proud of it. She was not just an actor on the film; she was much more than that. She knew everything about what was happening on the production front. At times she even managed crowds when things became a little unruly while shooting," Ghosh told PTI.
Sujoy has had his share of downs in the industry when the first movie of his, 'Aladin' flopped at box office. "When we were writing 'Kahaani', 'Aladin' was yet to be released and we felt that it would be a superhit. However things changed and there was this mountain of a strong 'No' in front of us," says Ghosh.
He adds that it has been a tough time for him since, and most of the acquaintances had asked him not to do a movie similar to 'Kahaani' but he wanted to work it out and also to work with Vidya, which he says has helped him by far. Also he mentioned that he has no speculations or formula's for the movie, and is waiting for the Friday review to find things out.
Also it has been mentioned that playing a pregnant woman as main protagonist is going to be tough for a director, but Sujoy feels it as the demand for the story and says that he has been able to mend the situations to suit the character and needs.
We will have to wait till Friday to have the final word on what his experiment has been!
