Aamir Khan teams up with makers of 3 Idiots

The perfectionist Aamir Khan has signed Rajkumar Hirani's tentatively titled film "Peekay", which will be produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. 

On Aamir Khan's birthday he had said that, "I would love to do Raju`s (Hirani) film. But I want him to make the announcement. The script is very good. Raju is a very good director and a very good human being. We have spoken about a film, but it is better if he announces it."

Abhijat Joshi who had co-written 3 Idiots said that, “I was writing Peekay with Raju. Aamir is acting in it. We’ve completed the script and will sit for narrations soon.”

Prior to Peekay, Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra had worked together in the movie 3 Idiots in the year 2009 which turned out to be a super duper hit and the movie even set new records at the international level.

The movie 3 Idiots was released in the year 2009, an Indian comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra with a screenplay by Abhijat Joshi. The story of the movie was loosely adapted from the novel Five Point Someone written by Chetan Bhagat. 3 Idiots starred Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Omi Vaidya, Parikshit Sahni and Boman Irani.

Aamir Khan who will start working on his Yash Raj Films Dhoom 3 from May 2012 said that they would start shooting for Peekay this year itself. He said, “The film is going on the floors in October.”
