Akshay gets insured for 50 crore

In : |

When it comes to insurance cover the Khatron k khiladi star Akshay Kumar has become the most expensive celebrity.

It is said that the 44 year old actor Akshay insisted on doing his stunts for the action-dripping film ‘Rowdy Rathore’, and considering the risky sequences and his insistence on not using body doubles, the filmmakers had no option but to insure the star’s life a whooping sum of Rs. 50 crore.

A source said that, “Right at the start, when Prabhudeva narrated the script, Akshay was kicked about the raw action scenes. But everyone was worried about him doing the scenes himself, considering they were a bit dangerous. And since we all know how much he loves action, we thought of insuring him at a heavy premium even before the film started. We knew he’d insist on doing most of the stunts personally, so we’re happy nothing tragic happened during the shoot.” Thankfully, there were no mishaps during the shoot, and the actors all came out unscathed.

Akshay Kumar who is known for his action image has left Indian cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli behind in the league of highest insurance cover.

Some time ago, Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and Shruti Haasan were insured before they carried out a stunt on top of a speeding train in Namibia for Luck (2009).

Celebrities like John Abraham and Mallika Sherawat have insured been insured for 10 and 50 crores respectively.

In the cricket areana Virat Kholi is a clear winner with and insurance cover of 35 cores. M S Dhoni and England cricketer Kevin Pieterson share a common amount of 30 crores each as insurance cover.
