Is the King loosing it?

In : |

This is how the change of few things makes an actor fail. There has been always SRK the charming, hearthrobe and dream lover of many but for now, the changes are drastic as it is always brawls and arguments that is making a news out of him. What has changed so quickly on SRK? When it comes to elite names of Bollywood, its always Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan and SRK is too close to the list but still he is not being counted in the list and always is an outlaw for the behavior he shows. There are no doubts on Aamir or Salman being included in the list, but the name of Shah Rukh Khan stands out because of the fact that he was no way related to the industry few decades earlier but has become the critical part of it.

Bollywood, where it is always tough to make a name because of the thick talents that are resident in the industry and also due to the fact that few actors who were well established did want their children to go nowhere for living. There has been incidents when actors have asked directors without a proper thought to cast their siblings into the movies. At these times Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan made their names and became the greatest stars at their times. Shah Rukh Khan had done a similar deed as he came into the cinemas and conquered hearts of many, but for some reason he fails to receive the warmth like his predecessors in the industry. He has been acclaimed as King but he fails to hold his Kingdom!

It is as if the star is alienated now from camps and has his own team to work with. Earlier when he started out he had big banners like Yash Raj, whom he considers family to work with him and happily tolerate few of his misses at the boxoffice. But now the YRF seems to switch steps as they are more open to the likes of Aamir and Salman for their movies. For some reason they are preferring other stars more than SRK himself! Not to complain but this is a big change that we do notice on the career graph of SRK. As it is said in an ad, whenever your time runs you are the King and when its off... the fact may be that few of his movies did not do a business that was expected of them or may be they aren't ready to tolerate his attitude of a common man as they used to be.

The news that comes out now is of a lone king who is cornered and a star that is broken out. Is it too tough for SRK to handle this? Is that the reason why the brawls happen? But if sources are to be believed, be it in the case of Shirish Kunder or Salman Khan or the recent MCA event, SRK is said to have remained calm and reacted only when he had all his options cleared off. But we never know, as a keen movie enthusiast we just feel that something is not right with the star which is making all this happen.

It is not that Shahrukh was not aware of the nature of this industry, but he might still be happy to be at a position where he can do or react the way he wants and stand for himself and justice. May be this is what is reflecting now, as he has the freedom to be himself rather than be under someone else's mask.

Just an observation here, but as there is the saying - its always lonely at the top! may be its true!
