Madhuri Dixit Celebrates Her Birthday

When you put in the most beautiful and charming actresses of bollywood into a list, you cannot ignore her! That is how powerful her impact has been, one of the names that still shines in the list, Madhuri Dixit Nene, the beauty which has and is ruling the industry and she still remains the heartthrob of many. Although it has been long breaks since she was seen onscreen but the shear memory of her yester year roles will want you to love her more. Madhuri celebrated her birthday yesterday, May 15, in grand style.

Madhuri Dixit, who had recently flown to India to spend her rest of the time here is now happy managing her home. She currently resides at Mumbai with Dr Sriram Nene and their two boys, Ryan and Arin. Apart from the recent film, Gulaab Gang, she hasn't done much onscreen appearances except the special appearances on television show (Jhalak Dikhla Jaa) or commercial (Olay Regenerist, Comfort) reminding us of her presence.

Madhuri Dixit was a teenager when their neighbour Govind Moonis, working with Rajshri Productions, was on the lookout for a new face for Abodh. He discussed the idea with the Dixits and they agreed since they had known Govind for years. Madhuri agreed because she loved dancing and believed that the film would open opportunities for her to perform Kathak on a bigger platform.

Abodh sank without a trace. In the meantime, Madhuri, while completing her graduation, signed up for many forgettable films like Awara Baap and Swati in which she played second lead to Meenakshi Seshadri. After her run at B-grade genre movies, she had a chance to meet Subhash Ghai, who convinced Boney Kapoor and Pradeep Sharma to launch her as the new heroine in Uttar Dakshin (1987).

Later she did have succesful run at the box office with  Tezaab (1988) and Ram Lakhan, Parinda and Prem Pratigya (1989). These movies made her the real superstar of the industry.

Interesting Facts about Madhuri :


1. She loves eating Banana Parathas, which she calls Plantain Parathas.

2. The American accent she had developed living in Denver, USA, has almost disappeared after she moved back to Mumbai with her husband and kids. Thank God!

3. We know her to be a terrific dancer, but when she’s at home, she loves singing and is actually very good at it.

4. She’s soon going to start work on Gulab Gang – a film directed by Shomik Sen and produced by Anubhav ‘Ra.One’ Sinha.

5. She considers superstar Shah Rukh Khan one of her closest friends.
