rateik Babbar has undergone a major change over for his upcoming movie 'My Friend Pinto', the director and producers are extremely excited for the movie and expect it to be the greatest change in Indian cinema, from the current trends. The debutante director Raaghav Dar feels that "The film is extremely racy and is about a young musician who comes to Mumbai from Goa to visit a friend. He is a simple, innocent guy who gets lost in the city and has a one night adventure with people from different walks of life".
"Prateik is a extremely friendly guy but he takes time to open up, he worked extremely hard on his body language and has somewhat become extroverted" adds the director.
The movie is produced by UTV motion pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali production. The character played by Prateik is reminiscent with the characters played by legendary heros Raj Kapoor and Charlie Chaplin. "The movie is in the same league as the legendary actors have done, but in a more contemporary style. Prateik is also a natural talent as these veteran actors, some shots of this movie might remind you of Raj Kapoor in Jaagte Raho, where the actor tries to help others but instead of helping he puts them into more trouble and brings trouble to himself. There are many comic situations to the movie" Says the director.
The lady love for Prateik in this movie is Kalki Koechlin. "It is an unusual pairing but they do look great together. I always had them in my mind when casting for the movie" Says the director. Adds Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has made a comedy for the first time as producer, "This pair will herald a new style of acting. It is very cleverly structured and yet casual and effortless in the performance. Prateik is goodness personified. He is a wonderful actor."
Bhansali further states that though he makes intense films he was so enamoured by this script that he wanted to be associated with it in some way. "It has a funny take on almost everything!"
My Friend Pinto releases on October 14.
