As the release dates for 'Dirty Picture' is closing by more controversies are arising around the movie. The latest news is that Silk Smitha's brother is going against the movie and there has been legal notices sent to Milan Luthria and Ekta Kapoor, who are the director and producer of the movie.
The movie Dirty Picture is a inspiration of the real life character Silk Smitha, who had ruled the south Indian industry for her sizzling style. She was being utilized at various stages of life and the movie tries to portray her true life over the screen, this was a bold decision on both Ekta Kapoor's and Milan Luthria's side to have a reel life given to the legendary spice queen.
Silk Smitha's brother V Naga Vara Prasad was the one who has raised this complaint, Naga Vara is a agriculturist and wasn't aware of the movie until recent times. He said to our sources that "We came to know through TV channels and newspaper reports that The Dirty Picture portrays my sister in a rather obscene way. Ekta Kapoor is making the film with Vidya Balan in the lead role. Neither the producer nor the director contacted us (the family). What right do the producer and the director have to make this film, without the family's consent?"
Silk Smitha, whose real name was Vijayalakshmi was born at Kovvali village near the famous Kolleru Lake in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Her family still lives in the village, where her brother is a semi-literate agriculturist. Vara Prasad, the only brother of Smitha, said that the family and relatives were upset with the news about a film on his sister with obscene content.
"We learned that they made the film based on inputs given by an alleged boyfriend of Smitha in Chennai. If they wanted to make a perfect film with facts in place, they should have contacted us to know about her childhood at least," said her brother.
The news is that there has not been response from both Ekta and Milan yet and Naga Vara is planning to launch second notice through Hyderabad high court soon. The movie is set to be released on December 2nd, which is the birthday of Silk Smitha.
We did try to catchup with Milan, but he refused to comment on it as the matters were already with the court and the advocates had advised him to keep his comments for court and not for media. He said " Basically people like us tend to get into a situation like this very late in the day. It is very difficult to say anything at all as our legal advisors have warned us not to comment since the matter is subjudice.
My only concern is that things should go well and this course of events should not harm the product. It is tough to say anything more at this stage, as we don't know exactly how things are going to unfold. The lawyers are looking in to the papers and they will take proper action".
