Rajnikanth turns singer

After Dhanush now its Superstar Rajnikanth's turn to sing. Rajini will now be heard singing in his upcoming film Kochadaiyaan.


Rajinikanth has recited the verses in his inimitable style while Bollywood Oscar winner Rahman has sung the song. The lyrics have been written by Vairamuthu who is one of the top lyricists in Tamil cinema. It is said that the song isn't a typical filmy song but has some classical overtunes.

Rajni was last singing the song 'Adikuthu Kuluru' in his voice for the Tamil film Mannan in the year 1992. 

Kochadaiyaan is an upcoming Tamil period film to be directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin and written by K. S. Ravikumar. It is a story of a prince who is the devotee of Lord Shiva. The film will feature Rajinikanth alongside an ensemble cast, including R. Sarathkumar, Aadhi, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nassar. The film, which is expected to be shot with motion capture in 3D, will have cinematography handled by Rajiv Menon whilst background score and soundtrack will be composed by A. R. Rahman. It will also release in Hindi, Telugu, Japanese and English. It is india's first film to use Performance capture technology.
