Phata Poster Nikla Shahid! - Shahid back from vacations

Shahid Kapoor has been taking break and this time a long one but the latest news is that he is back and he will be ready for the Rajkumar Santhoshi's out-to-out entertainer, the movie is named as 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero'. The film, to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, who has given hits like 'Ghayal', 'Andaz Apna Apna', 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani', will feature Shahid in the lead. The film will be produced by Ramesh Taurani's Tips Films.

Shahid had commited to do a movie with tips long time earlier but he had demanded that he will need a script that will convince him to the core before he commits for the movie and it seems that the PPNH is quite a entertainer that he will like to do. On personal thoughts we feel that it does better than 'Teri Meri Kahaani', which was a entertainer according to the makers but the audience thought otherwise!

"We have finalised Shahid Kapoor as the hero for the film to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. We felt he fit the bill for this role. It was for about six months when we were discussing this project with him. The film is tentatively titled 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero'," Taurani told PTI.

Shahid has two other projects in hand -- Maneesh Sharma's (of 'Band Bajaa Baraat' fame) next with Yash Raj Films and other with Prabhu Deva. This film is about a young boy who wants to be a superstar despite his mother's protestations. So that shows a narrow storyline which can only be backed up by Rajkumar Santhoshi's direction and Shahid Kapoor's act - we had a similar one with Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani.

"This film is a full fledged masala entertainer with elements of romance and action. It is an original story and not a remake," Taurani said. The leading lady for this film is yet to be finalised and the makers are in talks with few but are not willing to divulge any details about the same.

"All I can is we will go with a fresh pairing. I think in about a week or so we should be able to finalise things," he said. The film will go on floors from November and will release next year.

We are excited to see Shahid Kapoor back in lime light - it will be a pleasure to see him do the role!
