18 month old Little Eye Labs acquired by Facebook

The Little Eye Labs, a firm that develops performance analysis tools for mobile apps has been acquired by Facebook, the Little Eye Labs becomes the first Indian startup to be acquired by Facebook.

Facebook has now acquired the Little Eye Labs, the startup in India,  a company building performance analysis and monitoring tools for mobile app developers. The news broke when the company website confirmed the acquisition, the reports were already around that Facebook was holding discussions with two startups in India.

The industry sees this move of facebook to be a step to get itself ahead in the mobile app world as well. Currently the major share is held by giants like Google and Apple. ET reports that the strategy of FB was on tables from 2013 and it has fruited only this year.

The Little Eye Labs acquisition is expected to be in the range of $10-15 mn. Little Eye Labs team will move to Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, where it will build analysis tools to help develop apps.

This is first of acquisitions for an Indian company by Facebook. The intentions are clear with facebook as it has also acquired a startup, Parse, which provides Mobile-Backend-As-A-Service.

Little Eye Labs was founded in August 2012 and currently has seven employees.

After the deal was announced, Subbu Subramanian, engineering manager at Facebook, said: "The Little Labs technology will help us to continue improving our Android codebase to make more efficient, higher-performing apps."

The reports say that twitter had also approaced the The Little Eye Labs for acquisition but just Facebook had a better deal. In a company statement Little Eye Labs they are eager to reach the facebook infrastructure and will also help in boosting their already awesome apps!

The company which is only 18 months old has hit the jackpot which also provides high hopes for the budding firms.
