Delhi Belly Review - Outstandingly Hilarious

Rating: 4.0/5 stars

The movie started on a fine note with a foreigner, yes we were watching the English version of the movie as Aamir Khan did mention it is quite hefty slang in use there. The movie started slow for the few minutes and was quite amusing to watch as it progressed. The treat with Imran and his friends is a joy to remember. The English version was true to every bit of life! We would expect a trouble of this nature to happen in our everyday life. Especially the Delhi portrayed is true to life with all the crowd and competition!

As Aamir Khan mentioned, this is not for the faint hearted and Children should be kept a mile away! But we can't deny that within few years they might be speaking the same slang. The "F" word is plenty and is quite available from the start. The adult nature of the movie is portrayed in scenes too, which adds to the fact that children should wait a few more years before they plan to watch it. For youngsters, you will find it a treat to learn more and improve your slang and vocabulary!!

Imran Khan, as we have always been expecting from him is true to his character and behaves quite naturally to the role that was given to him. His acting skills never gave a flaw and went true to the character. The cartoonist friend was good enough to portray his trouble at office and love, although he had a shorter share of screen space. The role was done by Vir Das Kapoor and the fun part of the movie was enhanced by this character towards the end. The song Chudail did convey the exact expression for the act his girl friend did. I found the Dulha of the girl amusing too, as he did convey the gimmicks of a genuine NRI or a software profession on tour although with a bit of exaggeration!

Kunal Roy Kapoor did mark the start of the movie with the crack show (hairy!) and did all unbelievable acts including eating a chicken fry from crouch scratching stall man! He adds air with his bathroom scenes, red street scenes and finally the money scam scenes which is always a joy to watch. He is a typical room-mate which I am sure everyone would have seen or enjoyed ( suffered ). The orange juice scene gives night mares, it did turn me away from the juice stall for a while lol.

Menaka, played by Poorna Jaganath, was well justified. A typical girl with high intelligence and great wits! The kiss scenes and love making act was commendable and was making her more close an actress. Although I felt bad for Shehnaz! Coming on to Shehnaz Treasurywala, she is a treat! Starting from her first dialogue, kiss scenes, oral pleasures and low cut shows, she just rules out every critic! But she failed to add the crunch and peppy style which I would have expected in the movie!

The movie runs on later part by the gangster role played by Vijay Raaz, as usual with his strong performance is noted from the first shot we view. The gangster has his cool and funny ways to tackle situations, some of those moments do crack up the funny bones, especially the hotel room scene where Vijay is busy questioning and his accomplices get busy with the food that get served! The movie did give the realistic feel for the gangsters and the environment.

Music was mindblowing, I am still in the hangover for the BOSE D K tune and loved the Chudail number. The other musics for Bedardi by Sona Mohapatra also added spice. Loved the dance in " I Hate you (Like I love YOU )" did not forget the brackets :D.

So altogether, please avoid families and go out on your own with your gang for this movie. This is one F**** movie that you wont like to loose!

Lol the hangover never goes!
