Ranbir summoned for smoking in public

After Shah Rukh Khan seems as if its Ranbir Kapoor's turn to get summoned and that too for the same reason: Smoking in public in Rajasthan. 

Buzz is that actor Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by an Udaipur court for smoking in public. The actor has been accused of a criminal offence by the Udaipur court. The actor was was found smoking in a public place during the shooting for ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ at Ghangaur Ghat, Udaipur on May 28.

The complaint was lodged by a local residing in the Ghangaur Ghat area, Harish Vaishnav on Friday after which the Udaipur Court has directed the Ghanta Ghar Police to register a bail able offense under the Rajasthan Anti-Smoking Act. Harish Vaishnav spotted pictures of the actor smoking and the pictures appeared in local newspapers as well.

Ranbir has been summoned by Udaipur court on 26th June 2012. The actor will be booked for violating Section 5 of the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act.

Harendra Singh, in-charge of the Ghanta Ghar police station, Udaipur, said, “A copy of the summons reached us on Saturday evening. He is being booked for violation of Section 5 of Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act. Our personnel will visit the actor in Mumbai next week to hand over the summons to him.”

According to the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act, a person found guilty of smoking in public can be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of six months or a fine of Rs 200.

Ranbir is currently shooting for 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' which also stars Deepika Padukone.
