Kareena Back as Desi Juliet

This might be a blow to Deepika Padukone, who was signed earlier by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the role, the director has dropped his choice of having Deepika in and if the sources are to be believed Kareena Kapoor will be doing the role and she might delay the wedding further (for the movie may be!). The movie Ram-Leela (not official) was glorified when Kareena decided to bag in the role, but later citing her marriage she had decided to withdraw her dates for the movie.

A newcomer for Ram Leela?

Deepika Padukone was signed last week by the team and it is said that the director did perform few grooming sessions with the actress but did not find the flare that he was searching for. A source says "He was not too sure about Deepika essaying the role. Even after auditions he felt she was not apt for it. He did toy with the idea of launching a new face but later felt that Kareena suited the character best. He eventually went back to her.”

And Kareena was receptive to the idea. “She knew she was the original choice, after all. She agreed to be part of it again on her terms and conditions,” adds the source.

There is also rumors that Sanjay had apologized to the actress for sending out the wrong message. It was Sanjay who said that Kareena wants to have her time for wedding and that is the reason why she quit the movie earlier. We haven't received any official announcement on who is to be doing the role but from the looks and behavior it seems to be Kareena all the way.

It is also said that Saif who wanted the wedding to happen this year was made to adjust with the new schedule and its also said that he didn't want her to loose a good  opportunity.

The buzz is that the Kareena-Saif’s wedding may not happen this year, and his Juliet will remain single till the film is released.
