Revamped Hyundai Santa Fe May Roll Out On Indian Roads By 2014

In :

Hyundai's reply to the Japanese car makers Toyota, Santa Fe is about to be re-launched in India. And this time the company is not planning to bring the whole car through CBU route, instead the parts will be assembled in their plan in Chennai. The new car will make its entry by 2014, sources report.

Leading car reviews like the powerdrift has been mentioning the sighting of Santa Fe throughout their rides although none of the enthusiasts have been able to grab more details on the specifications. The car will ofcourse be a seven seater with more changes to match the Indian conditions. The previous launch of Santa Fe did not strike success.

The current Santa Fe is powered by the 2.2-litre diesel engine churning out 195bhp. It comes mated to either a six-speed automatic or a manual transmission. The new Santa Fe is expected to be equipped with the same engine specifications, with an exception of the front-wheel-drive variant getting an automatic transmission. Developments have been done to improve the handling and to offer a better ride, Reports Carwale.

Sources also confirm that the new vehicle will be priced at 22 Lakhs compared to Toyota fortuner which will cost 25 Lakhs+.

Carwale also suggests that Hyundai is all set to make 2014 grand as they are planning to launch a sub-four-meter sedan based on Grand i10 and the successful i20 platform.
