Shabana Azmi Hard on Protests!

Earlier today, Shabana Azmi, veteran actor condemned the attacks on Prakash Jha's latest movie Aarakshan. She mentioned this on twitter that she finds these protests as shameful for the fact that the leaders protesting have not actually viewed the movie. 


The movie Aarakshan speaks about reservation system based on castes and touches the sensitive area in politics. Shabana Azmi who has been known to raise her voice against what she finds bad has went ahead to criticize the censor board for their incapability of releasing the movie even after certifying the movie. She said that if few protests can stop a film from being released then what good is Censor board for?

There has been strong protests ever since the release date was announced for Aarakshan, the movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Manoj Bajpayee. The comments from the actor was in light to the attack on to Prakash Jha's residence this saturday by Republican party of India. 

The movie is set to be released on August 12, 2011.
