The Dark Knight Rises - Causes a stir at imax

Just one day to go from the epic release of 'The Dark Knight Rises' it seems that the crowd is already buzzing into iMax theaters to view the action on the biggest of screens. The movie which is said to be shot with iMax cam is said to be having 1 hour of actions completely shot in iMax and it should be the first on screens. 

With the last of Christopher Nolan-Christian Bale Batman trilogy series - ‘The Dark Knight Rises’(trailers and teasers here) - scheduled for a worldwide release on Friday, movie buffs are travelling from various cities to the capital to catch the mind-blowing action on the big Imax screen.

Director Christopher Nolan, famous for his blockbusters, is said to have shot the latest Batman movie with Imax cameras making it a must-watch on the big screen of 92 ft by 72 ft. There is one hour footage of the action sequences in the Imax format and Hyderabad being the only city apart from Mumbai and Ahmedabad, fans are flocking here. It does not seem to matter that the movie is also being released in several other single screen and multiplexes. The rush is towards Prasads (Rs.250 Imax ticket price) to catch the two hour and forty-five minute movie, which is expected to fill the entire screen space.

The crowds at Hyderabad alone amuses the owners and they have happily expressed their surprise on this. It is said that the movie is being completely booked upto July 28th and they are still collecting bookings for further dates. 

The buzz is not limited to Hyderabad - the report says that more bookings are coming towards Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Nagpur, New Delhi, etc. where the movie showcases in iMax format.

Even in midst of these buzz, the initial review of 'The Dark Knight Rises' seems to be cold - although we are not sure if the reviewers were just movie enthusiasts or a 'batman fans'. Much has been talked about the dim light shootings and unclear shots. A review also says "The film is positively dim, as if shot at dusk in winter by candlelight." 

Review continues to say "The new movie is all about false gods and heroes, revolting peasants, America since the September 11 attacks, and the collapse of the Western economies. It's about mob rule and the need for order, which in this case is represented by the fat blue line of the police.

So its still the story revolving around the fight between good and bad, but with the touch of more realistic aspects around the world. Although the review does confirm that the movie has been shot to conviction and to general logic. So it might not be so bad but still complains the very dark nature of shots.

We will have to wait on the final review from the response here in our theaters and we are sure Knight wont be that bad!
