Cheque Bounced : Non Bailable Warrant Against Preity Zinta

Mumbai, Sept 12: Bollywood actress Preity Zinta landed in a legal trouble as a non-bailable warrant has been issued against her. Mumbai Police may arrest the actress any time in connection with a bounced cheque case. Abbas Tyrewala, a scriptwriter working in Bollywood, filed a complaint against Preity saying a cheque issued by the actress for Rs 18 lakh bounced. A Mumbai court earlier had summoned the actress.

The court on Thursday, Sept 12 issued the non-bailable warrant as the actress failed to appear before the court for the fourth consecutive times.

Preity Zinta earlier had made headlines with her statement where she had expressed her desire to join politics. The actress claimed that she would join politics to curb corruption from system of the country.

During an interview with a TV channel, Preity was quoted as saying, "Off late, I have been thinking that I will join politics because it's so sad what is happening to our country."

"I really want to be somehow involved in positively changing our country... One fine day (I) am going to come out and say vote for me," she added. The 38-year-old actress also said, "...people like me don't have to get into a political future, because there are good people. There are lots of good politicians.

Don't get me wrong, but they are eclipsed by all the corruption. And the only way to make India shine is if all this stops. Because who is the one that suffers...it is always the man on the street and that breaks my heart."
