The Tamil movie 3 that will be released on 30th March, 2012 will have a dubbed version in Hindi.
3 is an upcoming Tamil film directed by Aishwarya Dhanush, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, who will be making her debut as a director with this movie. It cast includes her husband Dhanush opposite Shruti Haasan, daughter of actor Kamal Haasan, and the movie will be produced by Dhanush's father Kasthuri Raja.
The track "Why This Kolaveri Di" from the movie 3, which is written and performed by Dhanush, was initially leaked in internet. The song gained alot of popularity and later the makers launched the song as a single. Why this Kolaveri Di..... became the most searched video on YouTube in India which attracted more than 20 million viewers in just 28 days.
Shruti Hasan said that they had no plans of dubbing the movie in Hindi but the success of Kolaveri opened the doors to an all-india market. She said, “And even though it’s set down South, I’m sure that Ram and Janani’s love story will transcend the language barrier.”
When asked whether will she be singing the female version of Kolaveri she said, “It wouldn’t fit in. Kolaveri… is the life of 3 today, but the film has a soul of its own. There’s another song, Kannazhaga…The kiss of love, where you’ll hear me singing in Hindi too. It’s a duet with Dhanush.”
Shruti is a trained musician and lyricist with her own band.
The Hindi version is said to be released in May.
