Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel

Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel will hit the theatres next year. 

Sunny Deol said, "We will definitely go in for a sequel now. It's very important because when people like characters, they want to see them over and over again and sequels are successful nowadays so now our energies will be focused on how to get a better subject for the sequel. In every respect, the sequel needs to be bigger and better so we'll keep that in mind." he added, "We'll keep the same genre. Right now, we are just thinking on the different directions that we can take in the sequel. Roughly we also thought on the lines of taking the story to Los Angeles. but nothing is planned as of now."

And this time Sangeeth Sivan is going to direct the sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana instead of Samir Karnik who directed the first part.

Director Sangeeth said, “I’ve worked with Sunny (Deol) earlier in Zor (1997) and Bobby (Deol) in Ek—The Power Of One (2009). I’ve also got close to Dharamji (Dharmendra) over the last few years when we were working on Cheers featuring Bobby and him. Suddenly, one day, I was asked if I’d be interested in doing Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. It’s a privilege working with the Deols and I hadn’t done a comedy in a while. I liked the story and things fell into place.”

Yamla Pagla Deewana is a 2011 Hindi comedy-drama film directed by Samir Karnik starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. The film is produced by Samir Karnik and Nitin Manmohan under the banner of Top Angle Productions. The film marks the second time that the Deol family is cast together after their last sports hit, Apne (2007). 

When Sangeeth was asked whether Part 2 will continue from where Part 1 had ended he said, “We’ve got an idea and we’re taking it forward. We will roll as soon as we’ve locked the script. We’re targeting a mid-2013 release”. 

Other than the sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana, Sangeeth Sivan is also working with Bobby Deol and Dharamendra in a movie called Cheers which is a story of a father and son. The movie will release after Yamla Pagla Deewana is complete.
