SRK summoned by Jaipur court

The co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Shah Rukh Khan has been summoned by a Jaipur trial court for smoking in public.

A Lawyer said that, "A court in Jaipur on Thursday issued summoned Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan to appear before it May 26 in connection with a complaint against him for publicly smoking at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match."

The Kolkata Knight Riders owner was caught smoking in public on 8th april in the sawan man Singh Stadium, in fact King Khan was even broadcasted live on TV smoking in the stadium during the match.  Anand Singh Rathore, director of Jaipur Cricket Academy, had filed a complaint against him.

The complaint read, "Police was confiscating any objectionable items including cigarettes while frisking. However, it seems Shah Rukh was allowed to carry the cigarette packet into the stadium which is negligence on part of police also."

Lawyer Nem Singh who filed the complaint on behalf of Jaipur Cricket Academy director Anand Singh Rathore said that ,"Smoking publicly is banned in Rajasthan since 2000. However, Shah Rukh Khan was smoking publicly in front of thousands of spectators. The actor was broadcast live while smoking on the TV channel which was showing the match."

The additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) court in Jaipur has summoned Bollywood actor but if found guilty, Shah Rukh Khan can easily get away with a fine of Rs. 500.
