Arko Pravo Mukherjee |
Inspirations have been quite common in bollywood, there might be only few music directors that we can count on to be providing a original music. Jism 2 music director, Arko Pravo Mukherjee seems to be in the mass league. As his debut movie Jism 2 is now in the controversy of what is original and what is not.
The latest news is that the title song for Jism 2 is a complete adaptation of a turkish song or may be two of them which has put the music director on defense.
Although Arko does mention that his title song may have some similarities, but he asks the media to check the totality of the song before criticizing. Afterall getting inspired is not a crime, if you ask us :sigh: So wondering which are the titles which did went up in making the Jism 2 title song? one is Kayahan's "Bizimkisi bir ask hikayesi", the other is Bengu's "Unut beni".
Now that you have checked the tracks, try hearing the Jism 2 title track ( Click here for the video )
So you might find the difference or similarity, we believe your judgement, now ask Arko Pravo Mukherjee about the latest news, he says "Dama dam mast kalandar". That's why we get so many versions of it. There are some West Asian tunes that have a generic melody. I have heard a lot of such tunes that could have inspired me both consciously or subconsciously. The opening melodies of many Turkish songs are similar. In fact, some of my friends have told me that they have come across at least four songs with similar opening melodies as that of "Yeh jism". I still feel people ought to hear my song in totality before jumping the gun."
As far as controversies are concerned, Arko said, "I don't really care. I make my music. The media writes. People listen and either like or don't like it. Let's do our jobs and get on with it. Pritam is an awesome composer and the media says I am another Pritam in the making, I take it as a compliment."
So thats clear sir, we have however loved the 'Abhi Abhi' and 'Maula' tracks from you, so we might just excuse the inspiration. Although to be frank we did find a rush in lyrics of the title song, to meet up your music!
